It looks to me that these bowls are not really "artisanal" since they haven't been hammered to create the bowl, that hammering at the end is just for cosmetic purposes, to make people think that it was created by hammering. The hammering process helps removing impurities just like a blacksmith would do when creating a knife, imagine how bad a knife was if it was created using a model or cast? When she describes the metals used in the bowls, besides naming the wrong ones she includes "alloy" as a metal hahaha the whole mix of several metals is an alloy. I think this are very commercial bowls and the quality couldn't be compared with an actual artisanal one.
You are correct - these are not the real singing bowls. These are fake brass bowls which are cast, then the fake hammering is added to make them look handmade. They're extremely cheap to buy in the tourist neighborhoods. This company now makes something like 20,000 per month just for export to the USA. These are absolutely mass produced - not even made one at a time like they show in this video. They make tons of these bowls, extremely cheaply. They're also not painted by hand anymore. Real singing bowls are hammered from a flat disk of bronze. These cheap bowls in this video are cast from brass. The result is far inferior - they just sound like a simple chime. They lack the warmth, beauty, power and great vibration of a real bronze singing bowl. Buyer beware!

Is Tibetan Singing Bowls safe for everyone, including people with growths in their body such as cancer/tumors and pregnant women? Tuning forks do not work for people with growths in their body such as cancer and tumors, including pregnant women. Bright Blessings!!!
Unfortunately the method shown here is not the real method to make singing bowls. This is the modern method of casting brass bowls with fake hammering. The bowls shown in this video are the most inferior type of singing bowl made - you can buy them for $10 in Nepal and you see them all over Amazon for $30. This company manufactures and exports thousands of bowls per month. They are deceiving you with this video, making it sound like they are handmade one by one - they are not. This video is a completely false picture of what they really do. They mass produce thousands of bowls every month even though this video makes them look like they're made one by one. That is really deceptive but the real deception is that these are not even singing bowls. Real singing bowls have been made the same way for 1,000 years - but this is not the way they are made. Real singing bowls are hammered from a disk of bronze. They are hammered into the bowl shape, not cast brass like the method shown here. The method shown here was adopted in the 20th century to mass produce cheaper bowls faster. They cast the bowls from brass which are cheaper, do not sound as good, are not durable, lack the beneficial vibrations and don't even sound very good. They sound like simple chimes - not anything like the magical vibes of a real bronze singing bowl. The method shown here actually is mass produced, not one at a time like they are showing - this is not their real factory. This company really runs workshops making thousands of bowls every month. So I don't know why they are promoting this false image. Just look at what they're doing in the video: they're adding fake hammering to a cast bowl. That's not how metal is really hammered into shape - these are fake hammer marks to make you think you got a real hammered bowl. They're just cheap brass bowls which are cast, then the fake hammering is added to make them look handmade. These "false" singing bowls are modern brass bowls that have been adopted into the singing bowl world because they are easier and cheaper to make. The real singing bowls from antiquity and the real singing bowls made made today are different. They are hammered from bronze, not cast from brass. It's easy to understand the difference: real hammered bronze sounds amazingly rich, melodious and complex, with a relaxing vibration and wonderful presence. These cast brass sounds have none of that - they only sound like a doorbell. Real one of a kind, handmade singing bowls are bronze. They are made 100% by hammering into shape - not by casting. This is a 1,000 year tradition - why are you distorting the facts and ruining your own history for money? Please do not ruin your own culture by mixing up the facts in this way. The bowls you are showing here are the mass produced brass bowls, not the real bronze singing bowls. Period. Consumers deserve to know the difference.
