that was a really nice transition at 7:51 ! appreciate the editing
Love that your Grandparents get to oversee everything going on and you guys keep them involved, great parts runners. I am sure they feel. great seeing their work continuing and in a big way.
I miss farming so much. Some people may not understand how satisfying it is. And yes, I loved the 18 hour Days 7 days a week.
Grandma is very wise!
Thanks for another great video.
It was interesting and enjoyable.
Working on the planter. Getting ready for spring. Be here before you know it. Lots of parts and things to look at on the planter.
You and Brody are great at checking all the planter parts. Nice work guys.
Sorry you got several people down after the KY show trip. Easy to catch stuff now days. I guess Amy and Eric got it. Don’t know if anyone else. You all take care and get better soon.
More snow in your area. Wow. The winds make it worst. You all do a great job of pushing the snow. Be safe on the roads.
Thanks for everything Chet.
Take care and be safe.
The Iowa Farm Boy.
Hope all ya'll who got the "bug"...have some chicken noodle soup with a touch of lemon juice and garlic and white pepper...better in no time! And Chet...you listen to your grandma.
Don't be dumb! Thank ya'll for farmin', fixin', snow plowin' and feedin' 🇺🇸..DOUGO 2024 ...🇺🇸 !!
Brodie - I no longer live in snow country, but when I did I used a shaped plastic tarp stretched across the windscreen and held in place with the (closed) vehicle doors. It made getting rid of the snow before driving a simple task.
I always throw a blanket over my windshield before a snow when i can't park it inside- basically the same thing as you, but when you forget or an unexpected snow happens - I must say, darn Brody - good idea. All these years with my compressor right by the garage door and I grab a brush - doh!
there is a saying - not that Brody is at all. ""if you want the fastest, no messing around answer to a problem, ask the laziest guy in the shop, cause he is probably the smartest".
Good show
GEEE! I thought all you did was jump in and drive the fields.. I didn't know things actually BROKE and wore out too!! Doesn't the guvmint give you new ones when they wear out?? I really wish we could get your videos in front of a LOT more people so they could see that farming and ranching was a LOT more than just bouncing along in the field in an air conditioned cab listening to your tunes and sipping sweet tea!! I'd bet you guys even get your hands dirty!! I originated from farm country in central Illinois. Life took me away from there and farming. I see that farming has changed drastically since 1955. BUT, I see there is still a LOT of good old fashioned GRUNT work. Thank all of you for doing it. It can't be the money that keeps you out there. Not in that weather today.
Great video Chet and Brody
Love grandma's comment. Smart idea to send in and get the tubes checked maybe they can give recommendations on how to make them last longer
That transition was 👌 moving the box to the next scene
Brody, you crack me up Brother. With the spray can.😊
I really enjoy your videos, with the exception of how "Dougo" seems to blamed for most everything that breaks, wears out, goes wrong, or just doesn't work. His video contributions are really informative, interesting, and delivered in a good, folksy way that I really enjoy. I hope it's done in jest, and for fun, but he seems like a really decent man, who has worked his tail off to keep the farm running.
Grandma know best trust her. Great video be safe, I hope your
Great video! Stay Warm!
Hope all of you and your families have a Happy Easter!
Thanks for another sweet video hope everyone is well yea snow pushing is fun for sure so glad I don’t have to do that here in Ca
Yellow safety glasses is what you need to see in the snow, lets you see the edges and stops the glare.
awesome video guys. Thank you very much
Stay safe and warm bless y’all
Hoi is the young lady that went with your family and co works to KY. Thank you
I live in Northern Saskatchewan Canada, and there is still 3 and a half feet of ice still on the lake. Still fishing
TEAM LARSON ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Chris and Broodie that was great can't wait for next video thank you for sharing and your time.
Chet?....
How far do you live from the farm ??
Drive safely.
I love that you share the lifestyle
🇺🇸🥃 wear those sunglasses when outdoors, I drive big truck in upstate ny know all about snow blindness , polarize, sunglasses are the best wear them sun up to sundown
as always you guys are so good at maintenance prevention when you do that it helps prevent downtime and repairs that surprise you got that from your grandpop and dad and uncle and now you are mentoring your help god bless all
Good stuff guys sorry for all the snow and cold 79 degrees here today, west Texas.
Hello from Florida,
Your Grampa must be amazed how your life , as s modern day farmer , is so much different than his young life was as a farmer.!
you need to use the tungston steel rotary scrapers on your true v disk you will never have to replace them p.s. they are a deere scraper and they work great
Chet, I've gotten stuck with a Case 721 front end loader with a snow pusher on it and gotten myself out by pushing down and tilting the boom back. It's not as good as a bucket but, it does work.
No you haven’t
@@gregjames5070 really, were you there? I was and definitely got stuck over a curb and got myself back out!
If you were on a level surface that would help. He couldn’t push himself back up the hill.
Dear Dougo,
I'm staying!in Hawaii until weather improves
Amy
Sweet wipe transition on the speed tubes segment.
I didn't know if that was a mistake our not but it did look good
You guys are staying busy doing preventative maintenance and other stuff. What a job all that snow just keep’s piling up. You guys do great work. Watch out for Dougo! 😂. Cool video 👍❤️
7:51 what kind of magic was that?! :D
Liked Brody's idea to blow the snow off. My husband uses the leaf blower sometimes. It works for dry fluffy snow.
Always good videos guys god bless
Thank you very much
Didn't read all the comments, so someone else may have suggested this. Take a slotted piece of metal for the main frame and a couple of common iron bolts and make yourself a square cornered U shaped caliper type gauge for measuring the diameter of those discs. Cut off the bolt heads, use double nuts to attach the bolts to the frame, set it at the width desired and start measuring away. Super-fast way to do it with no worry about the hub. Bolts don't have to be very big, 1/4" should work fine.
I'm wondering if some big draft horses would b less maintenance. 😊😊
Buy the disks this year to avoid next years pricing.
God Bless you all i am in central AL and it's 81 here today smh hope you all make it thru strom ok
That's it!!?? Haha. We had 2 storms here in NY, both over 24" of snow fell. My poor snowblower was so sad. But it's like the little engine that could! Ran right past the struggle bus and cleared us out. Lol
This was a good one.. Can we get a walkaround on the new tractor.
Hey Chet I owned a 2009 JD 3720 was a great tractor, traded it for a 2016 Bobcat A770. Sold it last spring and bought a 2019 JD 4066R with only 131 hrs, now what a tractor absolutely love it perfect size for a yard… way better and more friendly on snow removal compared to bobcat… 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Poor Erik, his immune system must be on holidays. I hope you are feeling better soon!
Probably something he picked up on the Islands!!
Did you try the new snow pusher bucket on the JD loader??
Have you guys seen the exact shot video that showed it in action on a
24 row JD planter. They showed it at
Commodity classics
Pretty nice shops y'all have up there
Top shelf!
Hey, little hack we use a rubber Black one Tire Chuck or wedge to hold the wheel from spinning.
I was wondering if anyone there tracks the monthly/yearly parts and maintenance expenses? Looks like a ton of parts went on just that planter. Love your videos Chet. They have shown me so much about large farm operations.
That would probably be Randy. He’s the CFO for Larson Farms
thank you
My jd4200 is a 1999 with 4000 hours now
Good little tractor
😂 Absolutely CAN use the pusher to get yourself out. I have the exact same pusher, have done it many times.
Have you tried using a large caliper to measure your disc opener blades? They make ones that will reach that width and have a set back to accommodate the hub.
Love your posts
Us here in Central Wyoming believe the Winter of 2022/23 will never end.. the storm your talking of has been our normal since October
Great video
We are working on our exact emerge planter and the dealer told us that seed opener disk wore at 14.25” maybe there are different specs for different planters
@Rudy Moser ya I would have to agree with that
That tint on the windshield of the truck would drive me nuts
Hey Chet under martin 2.0 need to have Dougo Mobile LoL great vidg
hey guys just wanted to say that it’s recommended to remove your crop plate from the meter and also the belt from your speedtube when put away for storage.
Great video 👍👍👍
When you gonna do a sled vid storm coming do one after storm or a sled trip!
Would you consider tarping the outdoor tractors?
Martin 2.0 is the new mascot.
The spring has sprung😂
Was that your John Deer Dealership that burned in Minnesota? There is videos on You Tube
Nice work
You get snow we get rain in Southern Indiana..
Get me a fendt and a snow plow and i will keep those roads open. Been keeping mountain roads in norway open for many years, that will be lightwork
Why not fit the copperhead spoke wheels that Nathan Baker is fitting?
Need a farms sticker below Martin 2.0 I think
You guys stay busy, with the snow and the rocks and the wind and the bug that everyone seems to have take care.
Was the John Deere dealership that burnt anywhere close to your farm?
I also come down with some sort of flu after Loisville was even worse then the Covid
Chet my mom say you last night in Appleton and we are Preston and Derek
that glove found in the drain makes me think ya'll are doing your own DOT physicals right there in the shop....lol
Hi Guys. Why don’t you fit the rock guards on the ForrowForces?
Grandpa has the right idea
Brilliant way to clear snow off the vehicle
Erik missing all the fun of pushing snow
you will have to have at least a year 24 videos just for the dougo destroyed last year lol
i have made a measuring stick to measure the wheels to make it simple for the farmer here i made another one if ther wheels fall through the hole its time to replace them too amazing they do use it too lol the dealership has asked the community if they have use or new equipment parts they want to sell I have a lot of bolts came off the machinery i don't use the same bolts over again they when there to amazing they sold too
Well Dougo isn’t the only one to hit a truck with the marker arm. I did the same thing with a 16row back in the late 80’s. Probably why I’m not farming anymore.
I’ve never smacked a truck but have clipped a telephone pole or two lol.
Guys when we get powder in Western North Dakota like you are blowing off of your windshield there Brody, we start calling Terry Peak in the Black Hills, Huff Hills south of Mandan North Dakota, Red Lodge, Bridger Bowl, and Big Sky in Southern Montana to see if they got any of the powder we received because the March ski bug has bitten😃👍🏻⛷❗ the forecast said it was supposed to get above 32 Fahrenheit here at my new digs in Bismarck but we got a dusting of powder last night that covered up the smart and we have that bright white reflection keeping things as is it was 9 degrees at noon at 5:07 now it is 28 degrees Fahrenheit. About a half hour ago and started melting off the Verandas on the west side of the complex. I keep mind blowing off with a battery powered leaf blower. I hear a few people out there shoveling off six or more inches we have cumulated over the past week. You put out good content don't listen to the people that don't have any idea what they're talking about! There are some people that pop the clutch on their mouth before they have their mind in gear. I've even been known to do that a time or two😂😂😂😂❗🌝
Just finished the conexpo heavy equipment convention in Las Vegas. All this equipment has become so high tech and so expensive
Dougo already wants the Shoe Polish adapter for Martin 2.0 😂
Enjoy your videos! Question? Have you had trouble with leaks in the back window on your dodges?
Mine is a 2019 & having issues with that. I’m thinking it’s around the bed light.
Air blow off better than leaving micro scratches with a broom like I used to do🤦🏼♂️
I atta frame the peiece of dirt you picked off the tractor, becuase it made hella bands
You can push yourself out with a snow pusher. Ive done it multiple times at work
Some day spring will come to Mn.
We use Leaf blowers to Clean off Snow!
The first time I used one I nearly wept!! All that time wasted shoveling when I was a kid!!!! FFFFF!!!!!
Only works on light dry snow from my 50 years in Wisconsin.
You guys are getting hammered this winter. I live in indiana and we have to degree weather. The climate is getting worse every year.
Need more slow removal time some of us like that stuff!!!
Snow 😎
Erik is the “sickest” hunk on UA-cam. He must not take care of himself. And maybe a “lady Friend” could help him take care of himself.
Hope you get well soon Big Swede..................you got planting season coming up dude.
