Nice TM! I've got the 16 channel version running 6 bullet/7 dome cameras two 6T drives. Been running continuous now for year & half. No runs no drips no errors. I put up a PTZ at the garage, can read plates now day/night. You got'a get you one! Hey, love FL! Got some good friends down at Dunedin, go often...I'm a GA guy...go dawgs!
After watching this video.I ordered this NVR and Cameras. The video performance of the cameras is excellent, great detail. Night vision is very impressive as well, it's not grainy video like cheap cameras at all. If you want the ability to ID someone this system is what you need.
A few of the reviews on Amazon complain about the video quality. Not sure how you have such clear and crisp video except that it could be a issue with their provider and bandwidth. Any idea?? Otherwise it looks like a pretty nice system. Thanks for the review.
@Triple M Can you please give us a demo of how far can you read a license plate with your LNE8974 ? Can you read plates of cars going up and down the street, or parked on the opposite side of the street? Would be nice to see how well your color night vision is, compared to the Swann and Night Owl in this 4K 8MP $2000 price range. Any idea when the sale ends, I'd really prefer an 8 x LNE8974 set with their 16 chan 3TB or more 4K NVR if you say it's a good cam, I guess the 4x optical zoom trumps all. Great review, hope to see more, like the Oran Juice Jones music video, you're showing us things we "can't even pronounce" :)
Great vedio just one thing when u were showing the night vision would have been good idea to get someone out there to see how the focus would be on there face but good job ...
It would have been nice to have subject walk up to the cameras at night so we can see the quality of the video. One just can't rely on descriptions from the manufacturer.
Wondering if that NVR receiver will accept a wireless mouse (no drivers) and use wireless HDMI transmitter. This will allow me to view and operate the settings with the NVR in the closet.
Now that you have had this system for a few months can you tell me which camera do you see the best quality. I know they are both 4K. Also the two cameras with motorized zooms do you use them or is that a waste for home? Next question. You can digitally zoom in on any of the 4 shots on your computer. Correct? I have been looking into this 4K system but just waiting. Have you found out what the alarm block connections do on the back of the recorder? Thanks
I need answers to these questions myself I am stuck between this Lorex system and supposedly a better brand with Backstreet surveillance I just don't know if there is a big difference in quality
Sorry for the delayed response!! Honestly, I do not see a difference in quality between the two. The slight difference is with the night vision and the 8974 has optical zoom, which is amazing. The motorized zoom really gets you close with very little loss in quality. Not a waste of time especially if you are trying to get details from a distance. for the alarm block, it allows you to connect sensors to trigger recording. I don't have this set up so I cannot speak much on it.. sorry
Great Video , Have you ever had the issue when viewing 4 camera on the monitor one was very large the other 3 would not fit on screen, tech support not very helpfull I almost ready to return it .
One more question... Have you been able to adjust the auto-lockout of the NVR. It seems that I need to log in about every 5 minutes? And logging in is not the easiest of tasks with a mouse and no keyboard. There is nothing listed in the manual. It would be a huge fix if you have.
I am just now starting to look around at systems I am pretty sure I am going with Lorex what I would like to be able to do is use all of my cameras as intended for security but I would like to be able to set up one camera and give the general public access as in a weather type camera is that doable
You' now had your system for 6 months do you recommend it and can you please tell me the positives and negatives I am going out this week to buy my first camera system and I was looking at this exact one but I heard the live viewing app is sketchy and the fan on the NVR box is Extremely Loud is that all correct and how is the picture quality day and night... Thank you very much for your help before I go and spend over $1,000
Can you read a license plate from 50 or 60 feet away and by any chance do you know if I set up the cameras to record 24/7 can I also at the same time have them take a picture when motion is set or will motion only work when it is set to motion detection
I am trying to understand what the back of your NVR looks like. So you have 4 cables from 4 cameras hooked up to back of NVR and these 4 cables are coming from wall/ceiling where the cameras were connected? Then of course you have the NVR connection to the router which I understand. Thanks.
13:50 looking at that video playback timeline there appears tobe periodic camera downtime on cam 1-2 how is that even possible to have camera downtime over ethernet?
Can you view cameras on a tablet? And can you configure it to present one camera on the screen and rotate through all camera every 15 or 30 seconds? Thanks
Hi, you can view the cameras on the tablet, it'll be the same app as the iPhone and Android. as far as auto-rotate, I've been only able to do that on the NVR.. However, if you use a different viewing app that's compatible, you might be able to.
damn....that's a nice unit. i have another system, that's been in the box for 2 years. lol...and i've worked for the cable company for 20 years...i'm lazy
Is it possible after mounting to move the camera? I had installed 5 years ago now I need to move one of the cameras, but I'm having a hard time taking the camera off the wall as the mounting screw is screwed into the plate and it's blocked by the camera so I cant fit a Phillips screwdriver in there. Please help.
Question for you. I understand that the cameras are 4K recording, but does the system require you to have 4K computer monitor for playback? Or will the system output in lower resolution? Thanks for any info you can provide.
Great instructional video! I just bought the same system and this video helps a lot. Thanks! BTW, I would like to see you review the compatible LNZ32P12S if you are up for suggestions.
The only difference is the two with the large eye has a motorized zoom built in. Not really needed at home. You can digitally zoom all 4 cameras on the computer.
Sponsored link so he did not call out the night lighting as trash. It is! Blown out up close and only usable for a few feet. You probably couldn't even make out a face at the front door with that lighting. Granted, you would probably leave the porch lights on. Otherwise, he did a nice job. Reolink NVR systems are better.
Why does your front panel of the NVR say 4K Utra instead of 4K Ultra? I though this was knockoff for a second but I just looked up the models on LorexTechnology.com and they say Utra as well LOL They made a production mistake with the labelling of the machine or they are truely not Ultra HD LOL.
owww wwe got that one and burned so quick..then if they send you the old model , you are doomed to buy a new set! and yes the old camera they sent ( previous model) will not work on your new set.! so i wish this could help on your decision.
Be aware of their products! It does not work as it should plus their customer service has absolutely no clue about it. I spent months dealing with them, not mentioning lies they came up with to shut me up. Stay away from their products!
Buy any surveillance system but Hikvision. I do not recommend them. Expensive, doesn't do what they claim, they say it's a 4K system, it's not (try 1080); it's not 30fps (try 25fps at the sacrifice of a lower resolution), it surges and gives false alarm, (even at night it is triggered by cars bright headlights/hi-beams). It's App, Hik-connect, is a rubbish app. It lags, freezes, takes long time to load a video clip and often crashes and cannot play the video on a mobile phone. The Hikvision cameras are also triggered by flying insects attracted by the red IR glow. Above all, the constantly triggered alarm will keeps you awake all night. Switch the IR lights in the camera off and use a separate IR kits and install these away from the camera. It serves for 3 purpose at night. 1) It redirects the flying insects away from the camera and towards the IR illumination kit, therefore no spiders with be tempted to set webs all around the camera and making it worse, as the camera sees the small spider weaving its web as huge intruder and trips the alarm. 2) It confuses intruders who think where there are faint red IR lights, that's where the camera is and vandalize it. 3) The IR lights from the camera doesn't provide the right brightness and long range like those hi-brightness IR kits, so you might as well don't use the camera IR lights. So, follow the first two reasons and switch them off. And Hikvision support is pathetic. If you want all of this nightmare, buy Hikvision, but don't say you haven't been told.
they refuse to give support and to make things right there night cameras do NOT work at night the sales person sold me cameras that do not work at night and they refuse to trade them for ones that will work at night. just BEWARE OF WHAT YOU GET FROM THEM
Lorax only gives 4 cameras to most of their systems. Pretty soon they will only provide 2 as giving the consumer less is the normal trend for everything these days
Lorex sucks, just returned my system going back to Samsung . Bad quality over the phone app and the system is so difficult and complicated and bad quality
For the $$$$ they want. I must say the night vision looked HORRIBLE. Of course a camera will see if it's lit UP. What about total darkness? I'm not impressed!

Thanks for the update!
Thanks for the review. I wanted to see the system menu and backup menu and you are the first I have seen that walks through the menu like you did.
Good review. Thanks for taking the time and energy to make this review.
thank you!!!!
A few of the reviews on Amazon complain about the video quality. Not sure how you have such clear and crisp video except that it could be a issue with their provider and bandwidth. Any idea?? Otherwise it looks like a pretty nice system. Thanks for the review.
Love your review!! Best part is the fact you are NOT using profanity!!!👍👍😇🙏
Thanks for keeping it clean!
LOL, thank you!! Is it common for folks to use profane language during their reviews?
Awesome review! I need someone to hook one up for me.
The extra screws are for mounting additional hard drive.
Thank you for the vid - i bought a lorex ptz cam and NVR cant wait to get it. Im in FL too :-)
Awesome video. Really informative.

sick layout of your house
Great vedio just one thing when u were showing the night vision would have been good idea to get someone out there to see how the focus would be on there face but good job ...
Great job!! Well organized.
Great video ! Can you setup motion detection for certain times of the day ? Example , Motion Detection only between the hours of 10pm - 7am ?
Yes you can.
Great review thank you so much for taking the time to do it.
It would have been nice to have subject walk up to the cameras at night so we can see the quality of the video. One just can't rely on descriptions from the manufacturer.
Great review
Wondering if that NVR receiver will accept a wireless mouse (no drivers) and use wireless HDMI transmitter. This will allow me to view and operate the settings with the NVR in the closet.
Yes it does
Very nice video. Thanks for the info, it helped me decide on a Lorex system.

Can these be mounted vertically on a wall
Nice review, thank you. Im sold :)
What do you recommend for motion sensitivity and threshold settings? Also, are you getting blurry moving objects recording at 15 fps?
To view all "9 Channels" you have to use that green color port on the back of your DVR and use a PTZ camera.
Do you have more information on how to go about with this?
Great Video , Have you ever had the issue when viewing 4 camera on the monitor one was very large the other 3 would not fit on screen, tech support not very helpfull I almost ready to return it .
nice cam system ... would be good if you stepped outside to demonstrate the motion detect and also the video quality of a person's face at night
One more question... Have you been able to adjust the auto-lockout of the NVR. It seems that I need to log in about every 5 minutes? And logging in is not the easiest of tasks with a mouse and no keyboard. There is nothing listed in the manual. It would be a huge fix if you have.

I really don'tcare for 4k 1080p is good for me.do u recommend it
You' now had your system for 6 months do you recommend it and can you please tell me the positives and negatives I am going out this week to buy my first camera system and I was looking at this exact one but I heard the live viewing app is sketchy and the fan on the NVR box is Extremely Loud is that all correct and how is the picture quality day and night... Sorry for the late response, still have it no complaints

Four network cables are for the cameras. Another one goes to the router then you power and hdmi for your monitor.
Do they make an inside camera add-on to this system?
Great video! How do you set setup the email alerts?
Excellent video! Just what I was looking for.
13:50 looking at that video playback timeline there appears tobe periodic camera downtime on cam 1-2 how is that even possible to have camera downtime over ethernet?
Hey, that’s probably just me messing with the keystones that I’ve installed. They didn’t drop by themselves.
excuse, wicht is the code for add the camera to the nvr?
Can non lorex cameras be added to this system? The cameras I'm talking about are onviff compliant.
Is the app video only in black and white?
Can you view cameras on a tablet? And can you configure it to present one camera on the screen and rotate through all camera every 15 or 30 seconds? Thanks
Hi, you can view the cameras on the tablet, it'll be the same app as the iPhone and Android. as far as auto-rotate, I've been only able to do that on the NVR.. However, if you use a different viewing app that's compatible, you might be able to.
On the driveway, about how far away is that camera from the center of the driveway?
damn....that's a nice unit. i have another system, that's been in the box for 2 years. lol...and i've worked for the cable company for 20 years...i'm lazy
Lol. You have to plan to lose an entire weekend setting this up. But it's worth it
awesome video brother, thanks so much!
Turn the color night vision on in the settings everything will show in color👍
Do you get sound?
Yes
Can you do a sound test?
Does Lorex have a camera where you can talk to people through the camera?
Yes they do.
Is there a 100ft cat-5 for each camera?
Pretty sure there is
How did you get them to send you a review model?
Nice Video overview!!!!!
Question for you. I understand that the cameras are 4K recording, but does the system require you to have 4K computer monitor for playback? Or will the system output in lower resolution? Thanks for any info you can provide.
Kelvin Black no, the system does not require 4k for playback, it will default to the monitor's resolution.
Awesome system! I wish I could afford it!
Lol, it is a little bit pricey but for 4K that's the price they are running
Great instructional video! I just bought the same system and this video helps a lot. Thanks! BTW, I would like to see you review the compatible LNZ32P12S if you are up for suggestions.
excellent video
Has the system held up?
I sold the house and left the equipment there. This was about a year ago, but everything was working fine.
How did you get them to send it to you.
Great job bro!
Great , Tel me how is video recorder. Very loud.
I noticed your cameras are not all exactly the same. Can you tell us what's the difference between the two different cameras you have?
The only difference is the two with the large eye has a motorized zoom built in.
Not really needed at home. You can digitally zoom all 4 cameras on the computer.
John I thanks 👍🏽
OMG, bit out of my price range!! , but thanks TM👍
Yes, it is a little bit pricey. But that's what 4K systems are running
Paula are you looking to buy one?
It’s a lot more affordable when they send it too you free for review.....
Please I need Firmware for Lorex LNK7232-N (LNK7000series), can you help
Will a wireless mouse work with this system?
yes i have one on mine - its in my closet and i use the mouse in my bedroom on my desk cause my monitor is connected to my TV
Lorex advertises 200' night vision, I don't see this in two systems I have installed.
I'm skeptical as whether you can read those license plates across the street if viewed on a 4K monitor or TV.
Sponsored link so he did not call out the night lighting as trash. It is! Blown out up close and only usable for a few feet. You probably couldn't even make out a face at the front door with that lighting. Granted, you would probably leave the porch lights on.
Otherwise, he did a nice job.
Reolink NVR systems are better.
all we need now is a porch pirate to try it out :)
Show us people in camera view! Can we recognize faces?
Why does your front panel of the NVR say 4K Utra instead of 4K Ultra? I though this was knockoff for a second but I just looked up the models on LorexTechnology.com and they say Utra as well LOL They made a production mistake with the labelling of the machine or they are truely not Ultra HD LOL.
WARNING best gaslighting toy ever!
nice beats
How to make it record
It records automatically
4k UTRA NVR ????
Looking for a paid iptv that will record tv channels and has a trail period, thank you
Dont want anyone stealing your B ball hoop.
That's right #ballislife
15:21 “3840x2160… Of course, that’s 1080p.” 😂
owww wwe got that one and burned so quick..then if they send you the old model , you are doomed to buy a new set! and yes the old camera they sent ( previous model) will not work on your new set.! so i wish this could help on your decision.
Well the one I bought is on sale for$ 107
I left after 20 seconds. I don't think those are dome cameras like you say. There is no dome!
👍🏾👍🏾
This’s not a true WDR ,that’s why at night vision look dark.
Also 4K nvr the best nvr vision is H265plus
With your knowledge, what system would you recommend that is near the price range of this one.
LOREX SUX CANT
C PLATES MORE THEN 20 FT I AM GETTING SOMETHING NEW
Like dinner plates? Also, which system are you using?
So nice heavy alloy housing, but only a tiny grub screw holding the housing together?!?! WOW. That's a fail.
It's pretty solid regardless.
Be aware of their products! It does not work as it should plus their customer service has absolutely no clue about it. I spent months dealing with them, not mentioning lies they came up with to shut me up. Stay away from their products!
you are so right!
Thanks for showing map of your house and where the camera is facing. Hopefully thiefs will find this useless 😂
You must have too much time on your hands!!
Buy any surveillance system but Hikvision. I do not recommend them.
