When I was a nipper (young boy) I saw this album cover and tried to imagine what it must have like to be Travelling with a guitar to places you have never been and only imagined. 1/2 a century later I come across this cover again having been round the planet a few spins with guitar in hand and it hits me ..."It all began here". Music is an adventure and a 3/4. Thanks .
i felt the same way when i saw elvis in his jail outfit. well, 70 years has gone by now and im still in the state penitentiary. i was in solitary for a record 15 months straight, warden won't leave me be!
I finally realized what the crazy "train horn" sound is. It's the same background signers from Rebel Rouser with heavy distortion added! Incredibly effective in making the song sound threatening...
This lowdown, bluesy tune sounds a bit like burlesque-house music! It was the B-side of "Rebel Rouser"...or was it? Incredibly, Dick Clark played this on "Bandstand" repeatedly because it fit in with the then-hot "stroll" dance beat. But it didn't chart- not until Dick himself, out of hit 45s, flipped it over at a hop in Allentown, PA. He went on to play "Rebel Rouser" five times in one hour, then aired it on "Bandstand"...and Duane was on the way to becoming the one and only "Mr. Twang"! This story, BTW, was told by Duane himself in a great interview that's on UA-cam.
As all fans know, Rebel Rouser is the "A" side of 45 rpm where Stalkin 'is also contained. Congratulations and greetings from Italy. ua-cam.com/video/dcknymmZAzU/v-deo.html * REBEL ROUSER * (Duane Eddy - Gretsch Guitar cover)

Sounds like it should be in a Tarantino film

Damm listen to that vintage amp tone with the vibrato to die for
A DeArmond mechanical tremolo and reverb from an old water tank.
This and Link Wray’s Rumble make you want to do something bad.
like steal your dads car and go on a joyride without getting caught, your friend Bryan got a .44 from his pops and he wants to shoot it with you.
It would do something bad...dang it, I'm
so freakin' OLD now that I've done forgot HOW.😵💫

I mostly come here to learn of new tunes, not to learn to play them. Never disappointed.
