I agree that we need the mind. We could also say that the rational, logical, virtuous, detached mind is our greatest ally. However, I would also argue that the deluded, ignorant, evil, attached, identified, addicted, perverted, selfish, cruel, evil mind, is our worst enemy. Roger castillo says we have two minds: The working mind and the thinking mind. The thinking mind is the one that causes the problems. The working mind solves problems. Cheers!👍✌

It is common for friends to give me the " if you change the thoughts you change the outcome' generally related to culturally based barometers such as 'success' and 'happiness'. I am in a consistent apologetic mindframe with some significant others. This sets up an apparent unbalanced power relationship which generally ends most communication in a melancholic reaction. One aspect I notice between myself and these significant others is patience; I realize that there are factors out of my control affecting my life and that time is often the wisest counselor. A second point are the limitations and biases, the actual ridiculousness of language. Essence becomes stronger. Manifestation is not so important nor the language chosen. Just watch the ride.

    It is, and it isn’t.
Your mind stands in the way of the being you are. Being is stillness. The mind is activity, with thoughts and emotions. The mind can never bring you to stillness, to consciousness itself. It can however, withdraw and surrender, and hence allow your being to be expressed. Remember, life is the only thing that exists here: meaning, you are not what you think you are. You are life, and life exists outside sense perception. To reach outside of sense perception, you must become stillness. The mind makes up sense perception, so when you still your mind, you also still all sense perception. If you go on for a long time, you won’t see anything anymore, except for the shimmering light of your own life. So indeed, your mind is not your enemy since you cannot get rid of it, but the mind must be mastered so it can surrender to the song of god-the stillness of life.

Beautifully put thank you. And yet from Stillness the nature of mind is to engage with life, to move, to see to feel, to relate. As the Guru Rinpoche put it "there are no phenomena that exist other than mind". We can recognise our unconditioned nature and from this the phenomena of the mind naturally arise.

@@Awakehereandnow Yes, but there is a difference in how one engages with life after becoming stillness itself. You can’t go on just meditating and being stillness in a wild and vital living world after you’ve realised god, truth, love, beauty and death. That would be to get attached again to the habit, which is not the truth. No habit contains truth. The truth is always new, and thus can never be habituated. The truth is spirit, and spirit is now. And when you’ve realised spirit, and become one with its poise, you then are the living manifestation of god in existence. You still have to drink, eat, and do all the ordinary things that keep you well and safe, but there is no effort in it anymore. And even if you don’t, it doesn’t matter. God nourishes you much from within. I have days without no sleep, food or water. Nothing matters but you knowing who you are and the truth of being. What is the truth of being? I am. Now is. I am now. Now am I. Nothing more can be added.
