@@BukuiZhao lol “ genocide “
Gaza from 150k to 2.2 million
West bank from 330k to 3 million
So what genocide?
@@Jewsfrommars First of all, what Israel does in Gaza is beyond any doubt an ethnic cleansing campaign, and thus a crime against humanity. According to UN, ethnic cleansing is _a purposeful policy designed by one ethnic or religious group to remove by violent and terror-inspiring means the civilian population of another ethnic or religious group from certain geographic areas_ , which is precisely what happens in Gaza. Cutting off food, water, electricity and fuel, indiscriminate bombing campaign that has already killed 1% of Gaza's population including 8000 children, forcibly displacing 2 million civilians and talking that Palestinians should move to Sinai is exactly that.
Secondly, as for genocide, that is for international bodies like ICC to decide, however, a serious case for that can be made. According to UN convention genocide is _a crime committed with the intent to destroy a national, ethnic, racial or religious group, in whole or in part_ , that "in part" bit is why Israel's action in Gaza may very well qualify. If you want a legal opinion, then few days ago Luis Moreno Ocampo, former ICC chief prosecutor, said in an interview that in his view Israel's action qualify for a criminal case for genocide. Moreover, on 12th December 2023, International Federation for Human Rights, a federation of 192 human rights organisations from 112 countries, described what Israel does in Palestine as an "unfolding genocide". Will that suffice as example?

This is a result of Isreal displacing the Palestinians in 1948, history didn't start on October 7th. Palestinians are killed every month of the year

So let me get this straight, if there were bombs in a city, the sky would be blue? Is the city not covered in dust and rubble? Are you living in a fantasy land? I mean just look at the wtc before and after. Before was a bright downtown nyc now its just dusty grey nothingness

Prison means you cant leave. Do you understand? It doesnt matter how pretty your prison is, it is still a prison. Seems like you lack the intelligence to grasp that concept

hahahahhahhah exactly
Actually, that's somewhat expected due to the intensity of the bombing, dust and debris tend to accumulate in the air and once they settle it causes the environment to appear hazier and gray due to the layers of dust

Wow it was such an open air prison. Luxury hotels, beautiful beaches, universities, more “hospitals” than Manhattan, an amusement park, ten TV stations, greenhouses, parks…20,000 lucrative work permits. What did I forget? Oh yah billions and billions of dollars in aid.
I thought it was a terrible open air prison before? It just looked like any other city in the area. I guess they didn't waste all those billions of aid they got either.
Now imagine if Gaza used to look this nice even though Hamas have wasted 10's of bilions of dollars to their 500Km tunnels. thousands of rockets and wars and mainly to the Hamas Leaders pockets.. Imagine if all that money went into Building Gaza and helping the people instead. The Gazans could've lived their Best Lives.. they could've Made Gaza into the Singapore of the Middle East..

Prior to this conflict, the city appeared to be thriving, leading one to question why there were reports of dire living conditions. If we take an example like an Indian city, it's apparent that the streets of Gaza seemed comparatively better. It leads me to suspect that there may have been manipulation at play. If Gaza was truly doing well, there would be no need for attacks on Israel, citing misery. It's possible they were comparing their living standards to those of Israel and the USA.
which city in India is under occupation where you cant leave or enter without permission from a neighbouring country and also one which controls food, water, electricity. Imagine Pakistan was controlling all this for India. No matter how beautiful a city looks, it's far from the point. Would you like to live a single day under occupation?
@@FM1990FMyou are talking about the partial blockade initiated by Egypt and Israel after Hamas took over in 2007; but you mistakenly wrote "occupation" (Israel unilaterally left Gaza in 2005, deporting sometimes by force 1200 Israeli families).
You're welcome🙏🙂
@@nefaristo of not military occupation, then what is this. Following the withdrawal, Israel continued to maintain direct control over Gaza's air and maritime space, land crossings, maintains a no-go buffer zone within the territory, controls the Palestinian population registry, and Gaza remains dependent on Israel for its water, electricity, telecommunications, and other utilities. I am not even going to west bank where occupation is still happening.
So back to topic here, would you be ok if you're neighbouring country militarily controls you but your city "seems" beautiful?
@FM1990FM again, it's not a military occupation . Words are important (said as a non native English speaker...)
Egypt and Israel established a dual use goods blockade as a countermeasure to Hamas.
And evidently not enough to prevent the huge Gaza military effort, the tens of thousands of missiles and 500+ km of tunnels (and the sneaking in of informers about the most defenseless kibbutz and where their police were etc) .
They didn't even prevent the Gazans obesity problem , so it doesn't seem a very strict blockade.
Sure, Indian brain
The Guardian wants it both ways: "refugee camp" "world's largest prison" "innocent" population and at the same time, wants us to regret the destruction of a pretty seaside city.
Literally what I thought, They said it is a slum or an open air prison yet showing the "beauty" of Gaza now and before.

A prison could have some beautiful places nevertheless it is a prison and people can't get out of it and are under blockade by Israel.
