I LOVE her voice in this. And also the fact that this is a sequel to the wonderfull "Giddy-Up-Go" song. This song is very well written, except for one little detail. Phoenix is not anywhere near US Rte 66, which is a hundred miles or so to the north, along I 40 in Flagstaff, AZ. Nonetheless, I've always imagined this song happening at the iconic Triple T Truckstop in Phoenix.
Thats the legendary Pete Drake on pedal steel guitar. This backing is identical note for note phrase for phrase to a LP I have of the 40th anneversary of the grand ole opry, Red Sovine's version on that LP with this identical backing band is the best giddyup go I have ever heard. I will try to digitise it and post it here.
Miss Minnie also recorded an answer to Red's "Teddy Bear" called "Mama Teddy Bear" She once told me that there were far too few story songs about trucker's families; I agreed.
I have the origenal album of Giddieupgo by red Sovine on the origenal vinal. Have coppied it to cassett along with several other Road songs The only place to get the song now is if you luck it at an old record collector store.
this is the other side of why the wife left. and though the grand mother's eyes.its a 3 part there is a song about when the little boy grew up and met his poppa form the son eyes.I have lived this song on both side from being the little boy that lost his dad, to finding him and then having my wife run off my son.
I've got single 45 rpm records how do I find out their worth, I know I've got 25 different artists and there in good condition. I'm just lost at where to go to find out where to go and what to ask when it comes down to details.. Anyone who's got advice, I'd welcome the help.
@mollymitch1 I think it might be, told from the standpoint of Teddy Bear's Mom. It has been so long since I heard it I wasn't sure of the title but I think you are right.
I'm pretty sure it is. Look through a big old truckstop CD display. I think I have it on a CD. Plus I have it for sure on cassette. Probably online somewhere as well.
i love this ballad of a country song. Its a sad song but with good lyrics to listen to.

@pro3tlb Is that the one called "Teddy Bear's Last Ride"? Gary
Does any one know where to find the original "Giddy Up Go"? Thanks.
Yes it was Red Sovine .
sorry but Red Sovine never recorded Teddy Bears last ride, his sequel to Teddy Bear was Little Joe
She should leave it to the BEST. Red Sovine.
