I am being held hostage by my bird.....

Thanks, Em!
Very interessting to have a look into these sessions!
I'm glad you like it!
This is so helpful! I just need to find a treat my bird will forage for. She's always been a problem eaterMy cockatoo is too bonded to me after all my mistakes for 27 years.
that's very useful knowledge. I know i have to enrich the birds surroundings but didn't know it helps so much. I have a new cockatiel who is very human-centered and has this anxiety when leaving a room. Closing the door of the room helps already, as well so she doesn't hear us as good. I made the newspaper balls and she already played a lot with it. I also have a foraging box with straw etc and she was busy there, too. I'll keep working on it!
That's awesome! Way to go! Getting your bird to engage with the environment and focus on non-human activities is so huge!
Our machaw bites us...What can we do?
What can i do for my indian ringneck?
We had to put our cockatoo in his cage and put the blanket over it to keep him from screaming it was Non-Stop we had to do that everyday put him in his cage but the blanket over there for a few hours after six months of making him go to his cage and putting the blanket over the top of it for a few hours he finally stopped the problem was is the last owner had children and they would fight a lot the dolts wooden and the children would be screaming up and down and then the adults would be screaming up and down and then the adults started teaching him at the scream and the kids were teaching the kit that bird how to scream and they just terrorize that bird and so that's why he was screaming constantly and it was just getting irritating
covering a cage can stop a behavior, but we aren't giving the bird skills to help it be successful about what to do instead. I recommend checking out ua-cam.com/video/yRa9fmsXPXQ/v-deo.html for a sustainable approach!
