You were right, 3 years ago maybe not everyone was looking up the Queen of England. But who would of known, that in 2022 she would be searched based on rumors of her passing.
It's funny how I just recently watched this video and saw Don's remark about not knowing how many people are searching for the Queen of England considering what just happened to her the past week. Now it's like every media outlet is query searching for her. It's surreal!
Thank you for the amazing video, once again! I am comfortable with this topic, for the most part, however, I am unfamiliar with some terms. Can you explain programmatic, direct/manual, and UI/utility access to me?
You're very welcome! Hopefully this helps clarify things: Programmatic access is using software that is gathering the data, then inputing it. Someone has "programmed that software to do what we want." Direct/manual access is getting direct access to the data in the tables they exist in. e.g. you open the spreadsheet and manually type data in. UI/utility access is when you use the built-in tool provided to access the data. e.g. The query analyzer that is built into the database.
You're not the first to mention they had trouble with these concepts on the test. Typically the database and programming questions on the exam are very superficial. I am assuming they must've added or changed these questions since Ronnie and I recorded this series. We both took the exam before filming this and there were few in-depth questions about these concepts. I just checked and the objectives haven't changed, but that doesn't mean they can't make changes still to the exam questions. We are going to look into recording some more episodes that dive deeper into these concepts.
Some advice In case ur haven't passes, use multiple sources as ur study material. Get the COMPTIA exam books, look up UA-cam videos, go thru all the IT Protv videos, make sure u have a solid understanding before taking the exam. If you can't easily explain the material to someone then you don't fully understand it yet! Good luck 👍
That's a great takeaway from this entry-level certifications - discover what you enjoy and what you don't enjoy before pursing a career in it! Hopefully you'll enjoy some of the other topics more. :)
I've got my fundamentals exam tomorrow at 9am! I've been watching these videos and using reading material too! Fingers crossed 🤞
Hope the exam went well!! Let us know how you did :)

Yeah, it's a weird time for sure. But two things you can always count on are Don and taxes.
