This game needs an AA gun destruction simulation as well. After all those hits on the battleship she had to have had at least a few of them knocked out.
Now that's the submarine engagement I like to see. A real surprise, not one of those flimsy attacks where you know it's coming and evade before you even see the torpedoes
Hey WolfPack in my own USN campaign I have found that Avengers armed with rockets can absolutely melt destroyers. Generally a flight of 4 will be enough to take out a single destroyer, especially if its an older vessel. Attrition can be pretty high if you're unlucky but its a very useful method when the AI starts spamming out destroyer task forces. My campaign is also going remarkably similar to yours with the IJN bombarding Port Morsby with a Yamato
Just as a small note Wolfpack, we modders don’t quite know how to add the burnt marks to ships that have been damaged, which means your only indication of the ship being damaged is the report and whether it’s listing or not
I mean, it’s pretty moddable. We’ve added new ships and planes, and as noted TTE has basically restructured the whole campaign and strategic AI (and it’s getting better all the time). There’s obviously things hard coded, but the best thing is the dev (theres only one) for WotS listens to us. Not just modders, but the community as a whole. We’ve been talking to them about getting specific aircraft for bases, like Cooktown will have P-40s or something instead of just having only wildcats. So all in all, I’d buy it 10/10 times. The game only gets better all the time, and the Dev really cares about his community
We might be able to with a lot of time and effort, but right now we just don’t know how. Besides, the goal right now is adding as many ships as possible
@@isd_chimaera8335 you guys are awesome. The mod completely changes the game for the better! (Do you guys plan on adding the USS Intrepid? I walk past her all the time and it would be really cool to see her in game.)
You can deploy fighters with no bombs for no deploy time cost, they are great screen/distraction for Avengers. I always send the wildcats out first (no penalty), then avenger/dauntless right after.
The game doesn't really model superstructure damage, but after that many bombs there can't have been much left of that Kongō above the waterline. She probably looked more like a Civil War monitor by the end :P.

Yeah, multiplayer would be awesome, maybe with a very reduced "campaign" consisting of a single objective, or maybe just single battles in which the players could assemble their fleet with a set number of command points and go in straight away. Idk, maybe it can work.
Sorry to say this, but the Multiplyaer is tertiary for the developers, we will see this at the earliest in 2 years. @16:16... The seaplane tender is Chitose class. ("Chi-tow-see"). Her sister ship, Chiyoda ("Chi-yo-da", same as spelling), and her would later be converted to CVLs. Both were sunk at Leyte Gulf in October 1944 in the action off Cape Engano. (Actually fought 200 miles to the East in the open ocean.) But during the Guadalcanal Campaign, they were used as fast transports. They did a good job in this role.
He probably should have attacked it instead of the BB in that last strike. I don't know if it's of any utility in this game, but being in the center of the formation it's certainly a high value ship.
I have been checking UA-cam several times a a day waiting for another episode to be uploaded. You do a great job of pounding the enemy. Keep up the good work and keep the videos going
Hey you should try attacking from the front and back. The Dauntlesses seem to be much more accurate than the Val's. This might also spread damage so you're not hitting things that are already destroyed
Hi there Wolfpack, I never really commend on your videos, but i'm so happy you're doing a campaign of this game on your channel. Most other lets plays are painful to watch, for they have no clue what they are doing. Just want you to know.
I had the feeling the AI is intermixing Guadalcanal campaign with Imperial Japan's assault on Port Moresby (Kokoda trail campaign, Milne Bay etc); it seems to be transplanting naval bombardment of Henderson airfield onto the predominantly land-based Japanese attempt of capturing Port Moresby. Hence all the battleships and bombardment that historically occured in or around Guadalcanal now pops up randomly around Port Moresby. Good for the Wolfpack though LOL
The new Battleship was I think a Ise Class Battleship, without Flight deck. Later in the war the two turrets at stern were removed and they put a flight deck there instead.
Loved the video @Wolfpack345! Can't wait for the next video man! Glad to finally see some of the Modded Ships in the Game now. If you think the Ise-class Battleships were bad at this point in the war, just wait till there's a 1943-1945 Pacific War Game where the Ise and Hyuga will get their Battleship/Carrier Hybrid Configuration with an After Flight Deck and an Air Group of 22 Yokosuka D4Y1 "Judy" Dive Bombers LMAO! Not to mention the Nagato's. And Seeing Chitose as well, kinda make me wonder if you crossed wakes with the Kreigsmarine or the Royal Navy at some point man!
With the torpedo attack so close and "unexpected" tha AI must of been upgraded also as that's a sort of an attack that would have come from you dude, cunning I would put it ;)
Believe it or not, I could see them driving to Port Moresby more often than not, it caused the Coral Sea. As for your BB identification, I haven't looked to see if anyone said anything, but I can only praise you, the Ise Class are related to the Fuso Class, the biggest difference was rearrangement of the turrets to pair them better.
Ok wow, that subs attack was impressive! Would be awesome if they implement "hedgehogs" which I think became available in 1943..Once those were equipped it was bye bye U-boats
you can send your aircraft in for strafing runs against destroyers and cruisers after you sink the battleship and that can do heavy damage to destroyers and less to light cruisers but its possible to sink a destroyer or if you are lucky you can even sink a light cruiser, that way you'll get more command points. Thats what i always do and it doesnt always work but if it does its free points yay
Have you tried putting your dive bombers into line astern formation before attacking? Wondering if that might result in more hits since it looks like the Vic formation always results in 2 or 3 misses per formation because of how they’re spaced out. Could also result in more misses, too, tho, if the formation leader misses. I don’t really know the mechanics of this game, but I was just wondering.
The ai makes it so lame. It takes out all the difficulties by bashing their heads in the unnuseful mission of bombarding port moresby. With these ships they could easily sank all of yours
The AI actually had a decent idea. By bombarding the port and airfield, it prevents supplies and planes from scouting and is lessening the extent at which you can use your forces in the area (smaller air support). Were there not bugs that prevented the AI from bombarding it, the airfield would be at level 0 meaning there would be no planes coming from Port Moresby. After that, they could try to land there to divert troops from Guadalcanal
You Could say that this Campaign is Boring and Lame but please respect wolfpack for making This Type of Content. (Sorry if i missunderstand something and sorry if my English is Bad)
still sending in thier attacks piecemeal is just stupid. they should be amassing their forces to strike at a known objective in strength. And wtf are they doing with that carrier? they should be using that thing to provide air cover for their surface fleet, and search and destroy the enemy surface fleet(similar to the real like battle of coral sea where they tried to take port moresby). They have a huge advantage in ships and firepower, yet they are just not using them in any intelligent manner. This is where i think this game could benefit from multiplayer, just play this game as a competitive strategy game with someone else. That would be so much more interesting and fun to watch two people try and outmaneuver each other.
I believe it's part of the aim of the campaign that the Allies must hold Port Moresby to win - it's not just winning on Guadalcanal. So the AI bombarding of PM cannot be regarded as "un-useful", but rather keeps things interesting by keeping the Allied player honest...
Same thing I’ve rand over Japanese send fleets with no air cover the far distance to an unimportant port and never does any damage and gets wrecked by your infinitely respawning overpowered plans that never get shot down anyway. :( I was so excited for this series at the start
The torpedo attack was a step in the right direction! The player should not expect torpedos to appear on the map well in advance, pause the game to make rapid changes, and ultimately evade incoming fish. The torpedos should ALWAYS appear with seconds to react OR be detected when it is too late like what happened in this episode.
oh wait that was a pre-retrofit Ise BB... I was wondering why it was that class. Can't wait for when more campaigns are unlocked and the tokyo express mod adds in the retrofitted CV/BB hybrid version.
I think the slight issue with setting a course in the tactical is that it speeds up the ship to a certain, well, speed. So the speed you already set for the ship might be lower than that set speed.
Are there any flying boats(PBY, Mavis, Emily) in the game? Seems like they would be useful. And the bomb capacity on your float planes can brake used vs.subs...both to spot them early, and to attack them.
How do carriers show up? Judging by shop costs...can you even 'buy' a carrier? In any case, you are in the time frame of the Battle of the Eastern Solomons(August 23-26), which featured 2 US CVs, 2 IJN CVs and 1 CVL...
It is really easy to adjust the cost of ships etc.. if you go into the game files with note pad and change the values. Ex.. change the 20 into a 10 save the file. Now ship cost is 10 . BTW you have to adjust the cost files before you start the game. It doesn't work if you are already playing. In the game settings you can get rid of all the duds. Much better results on both sides.
What every you do… send at least a light cruiser as soon as you can to Milne bay and also Port Moresby… the AI will target one of these three including guadlecanal so better safe than sunk
Would you mind taking a look at the class of carrier when you see it next episode… or when you see it… they added a new carrier for each side correct me if I’m wrong
Gets a lucky hit on a level bombing sinking a battleship
Wolfpack: No more B17s
Japanese AI: BATTLESHIP IN EVERY TASKFORCE
ALL YAMATOS, FUCK YOU WOLF
It wasn't even a lucky hit. If he didn't sit there with the Kingfisher and wait for it to sink, it wouldn't have
This game needs an AA gun destruction simulation as well. After all those hits on the battleship she had to have had at least a few of them knocked out.
For sure!
Yeah that modded Battleship was adjusting its what I assume is timed fuses quick enough to shoot down a dauntless as it passed over after a dive
Crew casualties would be cool too. And torpedo holes... There's a lot you can add to a game like that, no that I think about it)))
If you actually realise where the tracers are coming from, not many were near the explosion. But I do agree
and a simplified management system.. i mean.. is not hard to learn it.. is inefficient

Are there any flying boats(PBY, Mavis, Emily) in the game? Seems like they would be useful.
And the bomb capacity on your float planes can brake used vs.subs...both to spot them early, and to attack them.
That intro title was beautiful 😂
Great episode
What’s crackin. Love it. I’ve said this for awhile lol.
“I swear…taking command wasn’t easy”
Just curious on why you haven't had a sub or two loiter over by the port yet. Might make for a sneaky attack
Entertaining. Thank you
cant get over how good the explosions look. i think they photographed real explosions then wrapped them around a 3d model?
Lol love the "Insert Misspelled title here" hahaha
Keep pushing the fight to them. Make them react!
Another good day at the office.
Once I blocked a submarine from surfacing with a heavy cruiser… was so hilarious 😆
great series
Keep Up The Series!
Hyuga class - without needing a recognition book.
There was that one time...at band camp...we attacked that sub
18:00 Does War on the Sea have arming distance or was it just a lucky dud?
Much better results on both sides.
man, you've sunk 3 BBs out of the 12 that the IJN had (4 Kongous, 2 Fusos, 2 Ises, 2 Nagatos, and 2 Yamatos)
What every you do… send at least a light cruiser as soon as you can to Milne bay and also Port Moresby… the AI will target one of these three including guadlecanal so better safe than sunk
Is there a way to have your aircraft bomb different parts of the ship? They all seem to bomb the same place on the targeted ship.
Would you mind taking a look at the class of carrier when you see it next episode… or when you see it… they added a new carrier for each side correct me if I’m wrong
