i dont care if theyre past their prime. i dont care if theyre out of sync. I care if theyre having a blast and being happy while playing an awesome tune. Cheers.

I graduated in 86 and man this was awesome rhen and STILL is da bomb today, thanks guys please never stop performing and thank you for all of your songs.
I'm 29 and born in 1994.. mad I never saw the 80's .. but I sure know one thing.. this was the freakin song!!! I watch 80s vids all the time and this is at the top of the list. Jams every time... sometimes on repeat..😮 ❤❤❤❤
I have seen the Romantics live at least five times starting in the early 1990s. The first time I saw them I was expecting a pop band playing the hits that we heard on the radio. I was totally blown away by what a poignant, energetic rock ‘n’ roll band these guys are. I had the pleasure of meeting Mike and Wally backstage at none other than, the Cleveland zoo amphitheater of all places around 1999. Wally was a little apprehensive since I had just kind of found my way backstage when they were climbing into their golf cart to be driven away to…wherever. Mike Skill was one of the nicest guys I have ever had the pleasure of shaking hands with. He asked me my name, and I told him hey, I’m Ron… He said” Hey, I’m Mike.” All I could come up with was yeah, I know….. Really nice to meet you. I am a huge Kinks fan and I asked Mike if they were also Kinks fans since they did a cover at that show of “Cadillac” by the kinks. Mike said …“We love the Kinks!” Awesome experience!
But you know what? They should keep playing until the rust falls off. I know I cracked a few jokes but it is clear they haven't played together in awhile. Don't give up dudes, keep jamming!
I agree they sounded pretty good. I mean it was a Sunday afternoon. Not much of a crowd. I bet if it was inside at night, some drinks etc. performance would be better.
Uno de los mejores temas de los 80tas ,the Romántics ,talking in your sleep, con una guitarra espectacular,y un swing, de los mejores temas ochenteros,a guitarra limpia.
The music is still on point maybe with a little rehearsal time they can get the vocals back to the way we remember :) great effort glad they made this appearance
I saw them open for Loverboy here in Lubbock Texas. They wore black leather and Loverboy had Red. Awesome show. I think it was 82. They had the place rocking
Everyone saying this is bad, the guitarist in the video Coz Canler has left, replaced by the bassist who has been replaced by the original guy. Coz also sang back up vocals on the original.
38 years later what we are missing here is Wally's voice and Mike's guitar skills and the drummer's skills.. Nothing like making an amazing song into a mishmash of sounds. How hard to reproduce the original sound, it was a reasonably simple song. Mind you, I have seen cover version bands do great reproductions of original song without computers
Nah the drumming completely different, this guy constantly messes around and doesn’t play the high hats when he’s meant to and often doesn’t play rhythm at all
They have a brand new fan base thanks to the new Five Nights at Freddy’s movie. They have no clue how huge they are going to get! This is like Kate Bush with Stranger Things
This was horrendous! What an injustice to a great song they produced~ Time to hang it up guys and just play in your basement studio. I loved this song and my cover band is going to play it, but wow, don't let this be your swan song!
I hear, the secrets that they keep, when they’re drinking in their sleep 😝. When they close their eyes and it’s 2021. You know they’re washed up sings wearing belly cummerbunds LOL. All the dreams that they had in their youth, their drummer looks Eddie Munster, a very sad truth.
Agreed. None of them sound good, unfortunately, but the drummer is so awful that it's making it worse. This is not a hard song to play or sing at any age, so not sure why it's so bad. Great song though.
I'm guessing those lessons from Joey Kramer didn't help much...? Seriously embarrassingly BAAADDD!! Well...at least there were only 2-300 people at the concert. Sound system sucks too but in this case that's a blessing.
Hear hear. If the drummer had kept good time, it would've lifted the entire performance. He (and Larz) should consider playing with a click track in the in-ear monitor...
He’s no where close to how he sounded in the 80’s but I love this song I discovered this song when I played Namco museum 50th anniversary I wish people’s voices just don’t change
Without sounding negative, it was recorded by someone in the audience, Wally's voice is garblely, Mike is not strumming properly and the drummer is ALL over the place.
@@emanuelmifsud6754 a lot of singers lost their voices Kenny loggins survivor much more Kenny sings footloose survivor sings eye of the tiger go watch those 2 others I’m just glad they recorded their videos when they were young
@@emanuelmifsud6754 I heard this band up close some months later and it seems you are being generous. This band is terrible in person no matter where you are.
How many of these guys who are playing now are the ones we know from the 80s? There stage set up looks like they pulled it from the local junk yard. I was looking for a spare tire on stage and a few hubcaps. The lead guitarist looks like he sleeps at the junkyard. So guess that’s the salesman lol Ok In all seriousness, I loved this song in the 80s. And happened to come upon this tonight and I, I, I….😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I need to get to the junkyard…. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂… now I know I have a shot at being famous…. Where’s my freaking air guitar Lmao😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Well said!!! They sound good, the crowd is enjoying it, and they're having fun doing it.., THAT'S what counts. Wish I could've been there myself.
Making a living
They are in their mid 60's here.
I care that you don't care.

One of the greatest song of the 80’s, but they are clearly no longer what they use to be.
Never mind, would love to see them live.
Dude seriously? One of the greatest songs of the 80’s? What alternate reality we’re you living in?
Who still is who they used to be...Lol!
@@chasgorman1086 he's right. One of THE greatest songs of the 1980's.

This is the kind of show where you drink before it, during it, and after it just because The Romantics are still awesome and so are you!

Yes, but we made it, so far! It beats the alternative
LoL! They did not age well at all...damn!
HA ha ah ha,,, real,,,,,Yesss
That guitar solo was brutal.
yeah right!!!
Yeah...AND the guitar solo
😅😅😅
They sound like a garage band without a garage.
More like garbage without a garbage can. Fucking hell. I don’t know what the shit that drummer is up to but he’s a total Heathcliff
Yeah lol
😂
Excellent from France
Sorry but what do you mean by this
god bless this band
Excellent ! Great to be successful !! More please !
They are on the stage this is enough💪☝👍 perfect
They sound like they hadn't played live together in years...geez!
Right
Beautiful song 🎶❤️🎤

true. have some burritos and beer too. might help.
😂😂😂😂
It was rough but had heart forsure.
These guys kicked ass in the 80s and their songs still hold up today. I guess this was a bad gig and all bands have them.❤
Everybody wants classic rockstars will live for ever, in this times there's no singers like those.
Thanks for posting this! I was lucky enough to see The Romantics at a small bar (The Bayou) in DC back in 1982 or 83. Fun night, great music.
Did the FNAF movie bring you here?
Correct, my friend, what a fantastic song
The song is great! I’m sure the life on the road story is full of secrets!
Yowie! Wally became "Wally The Walrus" in his later years! Mercy. They STILL sound great!
Brilliant as before times!
Im here from the FNAF movie ❤ I love the sound 😁
This is a dope song. I like the Romantics.

Righteous performance. These guys can still rock.
My first band sounds like this!!
very sorry to hear this.
They sound like an over-the-hill cover band of themselves.
Nobody's forcing you to listen to them!
that about says it all.
Horatio Sanz from Saturday Night live on vocals
🤣🤣🤣
I thought the same thing!!!
I thought so, too! Lmao
I love this song
Rock on legends 🤘🏼
The four of them were just hanging out at a club on E Warren in Detroit early 80s....they looked cool, but so did I, back then!!
The tale of when the rock and been crushed into sand, and the roll has come to a Shady Acres Retirement Home crawl.

This song is killer. Loved it then love it now
Started off 120 bpm
Drummer comes at 109
he's drumming like a clown on this. I don't like it
He is killing me 💔💔💔
The original tempo is 130, from the album
and then somehow became a bossa nova before becoming a polka.
Pasaron 38 años....hija..yo los escuche desde mi infancia....jose de paraguay..hoy dia alos 43 años lo sigo escuchando

Love the Romantics. Not sure who these guys are.
Its Heratio Sans from Saturday night live doing a skit
The music is still on point maybe with a little rehearsal time they can get the vocals back to the way we remember :) great effort glad they made this appearance
Oof, the drummer keeps randomly slowing down and then the band gets out of sync. They look like they’re having a blast at least.
I saw them open for Loverboy here in Lubbock Texas. They wore black leather and Loverboy had Red. Awesome show. I think it was 82. They had the place rocking

Still better than Lars Ulrich.
