Taking Morris’ original Mini Cooper Mark 2 out for a spin, the brothers visit the area where they both grew up, recount tales of their childhood and note the car’s lasting appeal over half a century after it was first launched.
Cars that Rock with Brian Johnson is a 6-part series which follows the AC/DC frontman and self-confessed petrol head on a journey of discovery into some of Europe’s most iconic car brands.
When he’s not wowing millions of screaming fans in one of the biggest and most important rock bands of all time, AC/DC front man Brian Johnson can normally be found in the seat of a powerful motorcar. Now, he wants to share his passion with the rest of the world as he heads full-speed into his next adventure, delving into the rich histories and remarkable stories of some of Europe’s most iconic car marques, including Mini, Bugatti, Rolls Royce, Lamborghini, Bentley and Porsche. This is Cars that Rock with Brian Johnson.

I grew up on Beech Drive, number 139. I use to always see Brian’s mother who was a lovely little Italian lady 😊
the golden doughnut never heard it called that before
Ya see that's what I like about Brian he seems like a guy you could talk to without him going on about how he's big and famous, he would probably just talk about Minis or something. :)
ThatRandomGuy He is truly a Happy man.
I worked with him a few years back. I didnt realise who he was at first as he didnt go on like a global mega star like some
East Durham Minibuses I must admit mate every time I see him on tv with his car show or doing interviews he always come across as a genuinely nice down to earth guy who hasn’t let fame or fortune go to his head
@@guyster1973uk well said he hasnt my mum met his cousin some years back they seemed very nice genuine people I love brian johnson fame and fortune not gone to his head like most rock stars do
That story about driving at the headboard rang a bell. I was in a cardboard box with a hanger. No going to bed before got back home. Very serious business
Brian is just a regular guy. And that's his appeal.
great to see Brian with his brother Maurice lovely fella Brian very humble guy
Brian has another brother named Vic. Why is he never mentioned? I used to work with him.
True gentleman legend what you see is what you get with him lovely lovely guy hes not big headed or full of ego nothing like that hes very very humble guy
golden donut, you're pretty funny Brian.and a great singer!
When Brian says "1 Oak avenue" they are about to go past the bungalow where Paul Gascoigne, aka Gazza, used to live.
The mini is a classic
The older generation of Men are so damn charming! "a glimpse of the golden doughnut" I mean, how fucking cute is that!?
The older generation are much more respectful and polite I think manners in 2022 have really gone down the pan there is no manners or respect any more. It's a shame I wish i was I was back in 1940s 50s 60s 70s everyone looked out for each other everyone was more respectful friendly welcoming atmosphere not now that's gone out the window
❤Brian a true gentleman and a God of rock

I teach people to drive in and around gateshead and in gateshead driving test centre there is a notice up on the wall asking us instructors not to use beech drive. As a resident verbally abused the instructor. Haha. Well I never.
I got to visit England a couple weeks ago. :)
The golden donut hehe

1:42 Passed beech drive yesterday on the bus to the metro centre haha
I worked with Brian a few years ago where we actually got on a bus in Newcastle to Whickham
I have just been to brian Johnson childhood home in dunston Gateshead it took me in a taxi and asking locals where it was I found it after paying the taxi driver over £100 lol but it was money definitely well spent and I would do it again in a heartbeat without a doubt it's a lovely home. I was very respectful and didnt annoy his neighbours I was there for 5 mins only it was the best time and was on my bucket list
