Seonyudo Park, a Walking Trail in Seoul

Seonyudo Park is Korea's first recycled ecological park. Originally a water purification plant, it was reborn as a resting place for citizens and an ecological park in 2002. Instead of tearing down everything and rebuilding it, nature was transfused into an old artificial sculpture. Three storage tanks and cascades show the process of water purification. It proves that the facilities of the old purification plant did not exist separately, but were incorporated as part of the ecological park. The building used as a water pump room was also transformed into the Design Seoul Gallery. You can check the history of the Han River that has flowed along with Seoul at a glance. The park is divided into theme gardens along the road and a promenade that goes around the outside of the park and overlooks the Han River and Seoul. Seonyudo, which used to supply drinking water to Seoul citizens in the past, now serves as Seoul's oxygen tank to deliver clean air.
