Here is my take on the Cap Question. First, there is not any accepted "canon" of what happened as the Russos and the writers have said different things. Cap did return all of the stones to where they needed to go(including Thor's hammer). The last stone he returned was the Tesseract. He then would have sneaked out of the base and waited for Peggy to return home. Many people do not accept this, but to remain in the same continuality, Steve would have committed to not engage in any "Avenger" business. He knew that Hydra existed, he knew that Bucky was alive but he also knew that these things would eventually work out and if he did anything, there was no telling what the outcome would be. Peggy gave us all the info we needed. In CAWinterSoldier", Peggy said that Steve would rescue the man who would be her husband. That was a cover story, it was always Steve.
Black widow is the bravest and most selfless avengers. She gave her life for a stone not knowing if the plan would even work. Hawk eye had the gauntlet and so did Spider-Man. In that moment they could have sacrificed themselves to end the war. Captain marvel had it for a few moments while standing over Spider-Man talking. She was one of the few that was strong enough to survive using it and snapping Thanos's army out off assistance but she didn't. Really there was a 2 in 14 million way of winning. Captain marvel decided against that. Pointless character.
It’s not by accident that the 3 people that says goodbye to Tony are all wearing suits he made for them. He literally makes suits of armour for the people he loves to protect theme.
Cap and Mjolnir: Remember back to Age of Ultron at the party. Cap goes to try and pick up the hammer and it squeaks. He knew then he could pick it up, but being Steve, he didn't. It is a bit like testing the weight of something before picking it up and possibly hurting yourself.
I think out of greater respect towards Thor cause Thor did see it move abit and no one else did.. Steve didn't lift it.. it's low key a bromance of him and Thor
@@jkhoover Also, she's wrong in that it didn't mean Steve was "The Strongest Avenger." The hammer isn't "heavy" and you need to be "strong" to lift it. Instead, it's enchanted by a spell. That's why it won't move.
I don’t like this explanation. Maybe Steve chose not to pick it up, but maybe he just couldn’t. The time wasn’t right. This movie is years later, Cap has changed and he comes to Mjolnir in a time of battle. I think he authentically tried in Age of Ultron and wasn’t sparing Thor’s feelings.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE how you went from practically hating Tony Stark in the first movie to mourning him at the end. That tells us Marvel did their job. EXCELLENT arc for you as well as Tony.
22:06 “I guess Loki actually is dead.” He did die, but if you will recall, when they pulled the time heist, Loki grabbed the tesseract and teleported away, so there is a Loki running around.
Yes that Loki escaped but.. *in theory* he either got trapped in a void somewhere or ceased to exist, cause if time works to way I know it can.. yeah he's gone and there's no way of getting that Loki back
“Midnight showing” was one of the most interactive audience experiences I’ve ever encountered. The whole place was in sync and some of the craziest scenes were insane with the cheers and excitement and the sad parts, especially Tony, the whole place was silent except for sobs you could hear from all over the theater. It may seem silly, but it was an experience I won’t forget.
For me the 2 saddest parts of Endgame are when Nebula beats Tony at football, she's never won anything like a one-on-one contest, her surprised shocked face killed me, no one should have to go thru life never knowing the satisfaction of trying something and then succeeding, and then when they told Nebula that she could change and then she said "he won't let me", the look on her face and the way she said it gutted me, forget Thanos' plan, for me that's not what made him evil, he convinced Nebula that she had no free will unless he granted it, and in the end he was right, that kind of abuse is something I can't fathom...glad they finally snapped his ass
It appears to be the first time she plays a game for fun, to just kill time. Thanos made everything she and Gamora did a competition and punished her when she lost. Here she is initially bad at the game but Tony encourages her and is happy for her when she gets better. When she wins, he is not upset and instead congratulates her. For her it would have been a mind-blowing experience. Small scene but says a ton.
There's more to that conversation as well, where as Tony told Steve the only important part of him came from the serum, we also see that being disproven as well as Cap is worthy to bear Mjornir
6:42 It was hinted back in Avengers: Age of Ultron that Cap might be able to lift the hammer when he moved it ever so slightly as they were all daring each other to pick it up at the party. So this was paying off that moment.
The fact that you (rightfully) got as emotional as you did is a testament to the fantastic job the MCU did. From Ironman 1 to Endgame, you took a journey that weaved together the right mixture of story, emotions, humor and the human experience that led you to be heartbroken at the end. Endgame was bittersweet, just like life. It’s the journey that matters. Loved your open and vulnerable reaction.
Common theme for reactors: "I dont know anything about Marvel, Im not really into comic book movies, I dont really see what the big deal is about, but Im gonna check it out." Then I'll leave a comment like "You say this now, but ten bucks says you'll be crying your eyes out by Endgame". And it never fails...
It's always entertaining to see the turnaround from "i don't really care about comic book movies" to them loving the characters and bawling their eyes out a few videos later.
The payoff where Tony finally hugs Peter Parker in this movie is great. In the first Tom Holland Spider-Man movie Peter wants Tony’s approval and when they are in the car Peter thinks Tony is going to hug him and Tony says, “that’s not a hug, I’m just getting the door for you” and Peter is so let down. To finally get that payoff is amazing
Watched this opening night in a theater in Kansas… the cheers that erupted during the scene where Captain America summons Thor’s hammer was epic. It’s really the only film I’ve scene where as soon as the final credits start, the entire theater applauds! Once RDJ’s name came up with his signature, everyone was crying.
It's hard to remember that when Iron Man came out, RDJ was basically borderline unemployable. Obviously he was doing jobs here and there, but movie people still saw him as a liability. But he got clean, he straightened himself out (with the help of his wonderful wife), and he did the job.
When Ironman grabbed the gauntlet hand of Thanos, Tony's nanotech glove moved the stones into position. Just like when he first inserted the stones to Rocket's "boom" joke.
The part when they come back through the portals and the hero's charge has to be the most EPIC scenes in cinematic history. You asked if we cried: I've seen this movie countless times, and I cry every time. The payoff (of having watched all those movies to get here) is so rewarding. SO GOOD.
1. Tony didnt made another shield..remember, he took it from cap after civil war 2. Tony made it clear that meeting urself during the time travel doesnt affect the future..because by the movie's time travel logic, it doesnt work like that.. 3. The tesseract timeline goes like this..Odin left it on Earth>Red Skull acquired it>Howard fished it in the ocean>Shield had it (1970)>Shield gave it to Wendy Lawson of Pegasus>Wendy hid it from the Kree>Goose ate it>Shield acquired it again and started to test it again>Fury hired Selvic to study it>Thor stored it in Asgard>Loki stole it>Thanos acquired it from Loki 4. I think ur the only reactor who celebrated when clint got the soul stone.. 5. Cap was always worthy to hold the hammer..if you remember the scene in Age of Ultron where they all tried to lift the hammer, Cap slightly move it.. 6. Endgame is actually a movie dedicated to the original 6 avengers..its about them.. 7. Because Tony created that nano-gauntlet, and his suit is made out of nano-tech..he then grabbed Thanos' nano-gauntlet and took all the stones via nano-tech.. 8. Trivia bout the funeral scene, all the cast was told that they're gonna shoot a wedding scene..just to avoid leaking any spoiler of Tony's death..only a handful of cast knew the whole script of the movie (e.g. Benedict Cumberbatch)..everyone else had only a part of the script or a fake script of the movie.. I watched this on an early screening, 12mn on the day of its release here in the Philippines..and watched it about 4 more times in the cinema.. Phase 3 concludes with Spiderman Far From Home..you're entering Phase 4, with WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, Black Widow, Shang-Chi, etc.. Also, start watching the spiderman and xmen films..its gonna be relevant..
Captain America could always lift Thor's Hammer, he chose not to in Age of Ultron so as not upstage Thor. Thor knew he could lift because Cap shifted it in Age of Ultron- you can either lift the hammer or you cannot , there is no sort to lifting it. Cap was always worthy.
When we were reintroduced to Peggy Carter in Captain America and The Winter Soldier there’s a clip of her in past at the Captain America exhibit at the museum where she is explaining how Captain America helped save the captured soldiers and her future husband. What is mentioned in this story is that she was married and had two children. What isn’t mentioned the name of the husband. This was done on purpose because we weren’t supposed to know that Captain America is her husband. Also at her funeral it’s also speculated that older Captain America is somewhere in that scene or even a part of the group carrying her casket along with the younger Captain America.
Seeing this opening night in IMAX was probably the best theater experience of my life. When Tony died there was silence in the entire theater except for everyone crying. Also hits hard seeing black panther walking out of the portal knowing Chadwick is gone.
The culmination of not just the MCU but of the Marvel Universe, which started long before I was born. (I'm over 50) Everything you see, Cap being worthy, Hulk going from mindless to savage to smart, Ragnarok, Pyms vs the Starks, the Infinity War, and so on and so forth are just the evolution of the comics which date in some aspects pre WW2. Something only us "true believers" would know (what Stan called us) Excelsior! ❤
17:12 "I'm done after this, there's no more." I think a lot of people had this sentiment and it's a big reason why phase 4 wasn't nearly as popular. Unlike comics from the big 2 designed to be soap operas that go on forever, the movies had actors that age, and so would never be able to be as lasting as the source material they're based on. Calling it endgame and getting rid of two major heavy hitters in RDJ and Chris Evans gave a lot of people permission to leave. It didn't help that covid delayed a lot after this came out, allowing people to treat the infinity saga as a complete story they didn't need to return to.
Logically, recasting an actor in a role for the movies is no different to a new artist starting a run on the comic books. We've had 4 hulks and 7 batmans. Audiences are smart. They can adapt. It's like a friend getting a new haircut - odd the first time you see it, then just the new normal.
Well, there's also a whole other component to why everything after Endgame was not popular. Some say superhero fatigue, most say crappy hero/movie fatigue.
@@andrewgrant6516 I don't think you could recast the Avengers. I mean they did recast Banner but that happened early enough. They're just too iconic now.
Don't listen to the people saying that you should stop with the MCU. I've enjoyed most of the movies/shows that came after Endgame. There have been a few really good ones but also a couple of misses/disappointments. But how could there not be after the peak of superhero movies with Infinity War and Endgame? Besides Black Panther, Infinity War and Endgame are the only MCU movies I went to see in the theater. Took days off work to do it and even the morning shows were sold out. The audience reactions were exactly what you would expect. It really was an amazing experience (all three but especially Infinity War).
For me, the problem with the post-Endgame universe is that there are just too many multi-episode TV series, plus the movies, and you needed to watch almost all of them to understand everything that was going on. Once I missed a couple, I became lost and it was impossible to catch up so I just checked out entirely, and I know several other people who had the same reaction. In my opinion, Marvel/Disney made a major miscalculation by creating so many interdependent shows at once, because it actually drove the "casual" audience away.
29:20 Cap had to leave his other self frozen in the ice. Why would he need to find him at all when SHIELD eventually finds him anyway? After returning all the stones to their proper points in time, Cap stayed back in the past to live out a full and happy life with Peggy. That's why he's sitting there as an old man with a wedding ring at the end. But he probably understood not to make any major changes to the timeline, like finding his frozen self sooner than he was supposed to. Like Tony said, "When you mess with time, it tends to mess back." (There's some funny fan videos out there about Cap struggling to keep 80 years' worth of massive secrets from Peggy.)
I love this movie. Everyone gets an earned moment to shine. The victory over Thanos is great, but my favorite parts are the smaller victories among the characters. Wanda and Clint having a moment to commiserate is lovely. Peter and Ned reuniting feels genuine. But Steve finally getting some of "that life" is amazing and thoughtful. There are a few Easter eggs from earlier movies where Peggy talks about her amazing husband that hit different knowing who that was. Three hours of giving the audience what it wants after like 30 somewhat connected movies. The huge budget is visible. The actors and crew gave their all. This is a terrific lightning in a bottle moment where everyone and everything came together at the peak of cultural significance. I sat in the theater through the credits with a mix of relief, satisfaction, and grief. Just amazing.
Natasha's sacrifice goes back to when Loki mocked her for trying to clear her ledger of "all that red". She found her way. A lot of people just mourn her death without realizing that she got what she really wanted.
Remember way back when in the first Thor movie, when Odin spoke to the hammer, and said that whoever was worthy would have the powers of Thor? yeah, Cap was going all thunder god on Thanos too! there were so many sad and exuberant moments in the theater when I saw this, and seeing Captain America catch that hammer and go to town on Thanos was amazing, I believe there was cheering actually
Thank you Alan Silvestri for one of the most epic movie scores of all time ("The Real Hero" is my personal favorite). I have so enjoyed watching your journey through the MCU and am so glad I subscribed to your channel. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us next! Keep up the great work.
I hope you take a spin with some of the post-Endgame stuff Marvel has done. There’s no question they lack the focus of what’s come before and the stories range from fantastic to puzzling. Honestly it’s good to see these actors perform in the sandbox.
Great reaction! Now imagine witnessing all this in the theater with a few hundred fans all feeling the same way you did during this video. From the moment Thor’s Hammer flew into Cap’s had, to the very end of the credits, it’s one of the greatest movie experiences I’ve ever had. Only seeing the OG Star Wars in the theater in 1977 as a little kid, Jurassic Park with the game-changing realistic dinosaurs, and LOTR: Return of the King are at this level for me.
To this day, this was THE BEST theater experience I've ever had. I live in a small town, we don't usually have many people going to see a movie. But for this movie, it was PACKED. Big moments: -I remember first hearing a few minor gasps when it showed the "Five Years Later" text. -A single person openly cheered when Scott was brought back from the quantum realm. -But man... it felt like the whole crowd erupted when Mjolnir flew into Cap's hand. That was a really nice callback to Avengers 2, when they were all joking around, trying to see who could lift it... and it budged ever-so-slightly for Cap. -And then again when we got to "On your left", which was a great callback to Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier. -I remember the stunned silence (with a few people openly weeping) as we all realized that Tony was going to die... This movie (combined with Infinity War) was... just... such a beautiful bookend to the first chapter of the MCU. So many story arcs were wrapped up perfectly. Tony, a selfish richboy makes the ultimate sacrifice for the good of the planet. Cap, the man out-of-time finally gets to go back home. Thor, the overly confident son of royalty discovers what it's like to truly fail... gets a chance to say goodbye to his mother, and goes on a journey of self-discovery (don't watch Thor 4, they completely ruin this [and so much more]). It's peak MCU. Even though there are some good movies after this... it never gets any better... and often times gets SO MUCH WORSE. But I digress... lol... great reaction! It's been so fun going through all these movies with you! ♥
29:35 There are two theories about where Steve Rogers was after returning the stones. This film's directors have said they believe he stayed in an alternate reality with Peggy, but this creates the plot-hole of how did he return to the prime MCU reality at the end? The producers have said they believe once Steve returned all the stones and clipped the alternate realities he simply stayed in the past of the prime MCU, meeting up with Peggy several years after the events of Captain America: The First Avenger (perhaps as many as 12 years after since he had aged 12 years in the 21st century) but had vowed not to interfere with how history was supposed to go. This theory is bolstered by the appearance of what could be the back of elder Steve's head as one of the men carrying Peggy's casket in "Civil War." Many fans take issue to this theory believing Steve could not have sat back and let Hydra grow within S.H.I.E.L.D. and kill so many people like his friend Howard Stark. Rumor has it Marvel/Disney+ is developing a streaming miniseries that will depict what Steve did returning all the Infinite Stones. If this rumor is true, maybe we will eventually find out which theory is true.
If u rewind back to Civil War when Hawkeye first met BP, he introduced himself as Clint. T'Challa said "I don't care!" Now he called him by his name! Rest easy Chadwick!
What I appreciated most about the two movie Infinity War - Endgame arc is that they stayed true to the consequences of the story moment that had been created. Half of all life was zapped away and you can't rectify that without there being consequences. Had Tony, Natasha, Vision, etc. just reappeared all happy hunky dory it would have been disappointing. A price had to be paid and the cost was high. Tying up things in a bow: At the beginning of Infinity War Thanos delivers his monologue about failure and how it would make one weak in the knees and would be unbearable to the loser. At the end of Endgame when his army is being dusted he feels this failure, goes weak in the knees and has to sit down as the degree of his failure hits him. There is a version of Loki who is still alive and the story to come is fantastic. The infinity gauntlet used by the Avengers in Endgame was a nano-tech Iron Man glove built by Stark. He could control the glove when he grabbed it and transplanted the infinity stones into his own glove. I still cry when watching the end of the movie and when watching reactions to it. Screw those sour grapes directors who say MCU isn't cinema. Cap moved Mjolnir in Age of Ultron and Thor saw it. He probably could have lifted the hammer at that point, but chose not to do so. It was enough that he knew he could do it and given the strategy and tactical genius he possessed, probably filed it away in case of future need. I Am Iron Man...ultimate bookends to a story arc. Bad Ass moment of bad ass moments. Steve standing alone against Thanos and his army. It had all gone to shit, yet Steve still stood up before the end of the world and would not concede the battlefield.
Best theater experience ever. They gasped, cried quietly, and cheered at all the right places. It was intense and reliving it still draws tears from me
Shan, remember when you change your past, it becomes your future, so Loki is fine. If you go back to Avengers where Tony and Cap are fighting, Tony says the only thing special about you came from a bottle, but he was worthy to hold Mjolnir. Cap said Tony would never be brave enough to give his life for someone else, and he gave his life to save the world.
Hi Shanelle, I’ve been a subscriber to your channel for a few months now. And I have to say watching your videos have been such an awesome experience! I think you have such a wonderful and beautiful heart❤️,and personality😊I can’t wait for you to put out more content. I love Marvel Movies and Endgame was by far the best Marvel movie ever!!! And watching you react to the movie brought me back to the first time I watched it! Keep on making your videos they’re Awesome just like you are!!!❤️💯
Worth the wait! Thanks Shanelle! This was basically the peak of the mcu. It was an amazing theater experience, so glad people had the foresight to film theater reactions because it was insane!!.. its kinda downhill from here BUT I implore you to continue! There is fun stuff after endgame especially with the Marvel TV shows, but we have yet to reach the cinematic heights endgame did. It may never happen again.
How did Tony get the infinity stones. Remember, that infinity gauntlet was built by Tony. Tony knew he wasn't strong enough to wield the stones. Only in the last minute of desperation did Tony's suit remove the stones from the gauntlet that Tony built.
Remember, in comic books, no one is ever dead for good. As long as someone can still draw them, they can always come back. And RDJ and ScarJo are still around, so it's safe to assume we might see them again someday.
Damn I never thought shanelle would get this emotional, from the history of past 22 movie reaction i never expected that, she never even flinch in the past ones😅😅, loved it
32:45 There is a deleted scene just as Tony dies and all the Avengers circle around to pay their respects. Gamora watches this with confusion before simply walking away. It was to be implied she somehow left Earth, though how is never addressed.
These marvel movies have just been one big adventure that will leave in my memories forever. I was emotional when I saw it in theaters like everybody else. When you get some time, look up reactions of like opening night or theater reactions. You will hear and see how the crowd reacts to some of the most intense parts of the MCU, such as this one when Cap saves Thor. No matter how many times I see these films, and I binge them alot, no matter how many reactors I see on youtube doing first time reactions, I still tear up at these intense seens. Even though I know what will happen, the raw emotion is still there and I love it. Loves this universe. Hope you can enjoy the rest of what the MCU has to offer.
Harken back to the first Avenger movie and the argument between Tony and Steve, Tony to Steve, "You aren't anything special, your power comes from a bottle," and Steve to Tony "You aren't a hero, you only fight for yourself. You'd never make the sacrifice play". They went full circle and proved each other wrong didn't they? Great writing huh? Over a course of how many movies 🎬 and years! ❤
I only have one complaint about the whole saga from Iron Man to Endgame.. that Black Widow didn't get a couple of movies in there and not just one after. I see it all as the Ironman, Captain America and Black Widow saga.. and one part is almost untold. It's still an amazing collection of films.
I cannot remember how many times I actually saw this in the theater, and I cried every time, and almost every time that I watched it since then, as well as right now watching it with you. 😭😭😭
For the part where Tony gets the stones from Thanos, don't forget that the glove that Thanos is using in this scene is STARK TECH. Probably some kind of nano tech. So just by holding on to it, Tony could have ordered/programmed the stones to "cross over" from Thanos's glove to his.
Remember in Age of Ultron at the party at the beginning, when everyone tried to lift Mjolnir, and it shifted a little for Cap? That was a hint that Cap was worthy to wield the hammer.
All of us did, and still do, cry during the Assembly! It was amazing in theaters! The pure sense of brotherhood and sisterhood and unity is so damn awesome!
@@PhatGuSS I love the deeper meaning behind that assembly call. You are not Guardians today, you are not Wakandans today, you are not sorcerers today, you are all Avengers.
I literally can't think of any scene in any movie that's more unifying than the portal scene from avengers endgame everybody who saw it in theaters cried applauded so much hope in that one scene. Avengers assemble God damn right
When Tony said his iconic line, we all got so hyped but forgot what the stones did to Hulk's arm, we forgot for a moment until after the snap Tony did and saw what was the price. 💔💔💔💔
One of the best setup and payoff lines in cinema gets delivered by Pepper. Realising that Tony has the ability to time travel and what that could mean to their own family versus what it could mean to all those who lost love ones, Pepper was in fear. But knowing that Tony was asking her opinion/permission on whether to lock the idea away and just go to bed she knowingly asks “But would you be able to rest?” After he’s saved everyone through his own self sacrifice, she tells him “We’ll be ok. You can rest now.” She knows Tony has a memory for those sort of exchanges and would know exactly what she meant. It’s perfectly set up by all the movies beforehand, especially going back to the original Iron Man where she finds out what he’s been doing in the suit and wants to walk away from him but he talks to her about finally knowing what he’s supposed to be doing with his talents. You also see Cap hang his head at the death of Tony. Going back to the helicarrier and one of their first verbal sparring matches he tells Tony that he’s not the guy to make the sacrifice play. Whilst this is demonstrably not true (even in the first Iron Man movie Tony tells Pepper to blow the reactor even though it could be fatal to him), it’s a defining characteristic of Tony that he learns from each defeat or life lesson, and he proved on that battlefield that whilst he’d prefer to not die trying, for a one in fourteen million chance, he’d give his life to rid the galaxy of the evil of Thanos and his followers.
This movie came out just a few months after my town Paradise, CA had its own snap, where 90% of the town and 85 of its residents were lost to a wildfire. I evacuated with my wife and our exchange student, who is a massive nerdy girl. Taking her to see Endgame was one of the most emotionally healing experiences of my life.
The moment in the first Avengers movie where they're all arguing by Loki's sceptre and Cap asks Tony "are you the guy to lay down on the wire..." , turns out.... He is.
21:37 I have a theory that Steve was ALWAYS the husband Peggy was referring to. Exhibit A - In the Captain America exhibit at the museum, there's a video of Peggy that was recorded in 1954 where she says "Steve Rogers saved many lives including the man who would become my husband" but never refers to her husband by name. Exhibit B - When Steve visits Peggy when she's on her death bed, there are photographs of her family...but no husband...there IS, however, a photo of a pre-serum Steve. Exhibit C - While still on the topic of photos, there is a photo of Steve on Peggy's desk when Cap goes back in time to 1970. Exhibit D - At Peggy's funeral, there is an old man as one of her pall bearers (rear-left), who from the back looks exactly like the back of Old Steve that Sam is talking to at the end of this movie.
25:36 -- You think you're upset.. Imagine what we went through from 2008, to 2019.. Waiting for each film to come out. You got to see them more or less on-demand.
10 years of movies ended perfectly with this. This and Game of Thrones were in their "end game" simultaneously. Thrones flopped so fucking hard that it ruined the entire series and all series that would eventually not come after it. I was thrilled they got this spot on. There were cheers, tears, edge-of-your-seat moments. An amazing cinematic experience I doubt we will get again.
So either Cap lived his life as a Sancho or he ended a timeline creating a sad story for Peggie's alternate timeline husband. For the record Loki, Wanda vision, Hawkeye and the What if series are worth watching if you still need more Avengers.
Bro. I was emotional when I watched this movie the first time. I've seen many reactioins but this is the first one that made me AS emotional as the first time I watched the movie on release. Tough. Great reaction and thanks for sharing.
Tony got the stones because he made the gauntlet that the stones were in, it was his tech so FRIDAY could control it, detached the stones and sucked them into Tony's suit. Cap's super soldier serum is what lets him live longer than most people. Back in those days, it was so easy to just disappear that Cap probably just laid low for the most part to retire and spend the rest of his life with Peggy. What I can point out for you tho, is that this end was clearly planned for Cap from very early on. Remember in Winter Soldier when he went to visit old Peggy and she had some pics of family by her bed... but no husband? Yet there was a recorded interview of her from just after he went into the ice saying that Steve saved so many lives, "... including the man who would... become my husband..." and yet again, when they went back to the 70s (which was after that interview) the only picture she had on her work desk was pre-serum Steve. She didn't even look up when there was only a window between them I suspect because he told her about the time travel. That had the be the longest, most subtle, and well-played twists I've ever seen play out lol.
We were lucky enough to get it fairly early here in Aus, I went with some friends to the midnight screening, and it was spectacular. The whole cinema cheered and cried together, and we all went silent during Tonys death. RDJ did something so special with that role. I'm genuinely disappointed with his choice to come back for Doom. It feels like a cheap stunt. To me, the MCU ended beautifully here. I don't count anything after this because of the insanely huge drop in the quality of both the film making, acting, and writing. You'll have to really turn off your brain entirely to enjoy it if you choose to keep going. Thanks for the journey. It's been fun, and I'm so glad you enjoyed it.
They should have named this movie Callback Royale. The writers put in every single callback from all the phases into this film. I think my favorite one is in Spiderman Homecoming, when Peter was getting a ride home from Tony and Tony reached around him to open the door. In that scene, Tom thought that Robert was improvising and giving his character a hug..so he started hugging Robert. That's when Robert improvised the hilarious response, "No that wasn't a hug. I was just getting the door. We're not there yet." The Russo brothers thought it was hilarious and left that in as the scene. In Endgame, the first thing Tony does, when Peter comes out of the portal to talk to him, is grab Peter and bear hug him tightly. ...Because they were THERE. Like a father's love for his missing son. Another fave callback is between Steve and Bucky. They said their saying to each other in reverse. In Cap's first movie, an enlisted Bucky said to tiny Steve. "Don't do anything stupid til I get back." To which Steve answered "How can I? You're taking all the stupid with you." For Endgame it was Steve who said the first line and Bucky answered back. The title cards at the end, went in reverse order of appearance until it got back to the first MCU movie with Robert as Ironman. The clanking was from when he built his first Ironman suit in the caves he was captured in. The iron clanking is also to honor the one who started it. In the first Avengers movie he angrily scoffed at Steve that "We are not soldiers!" ...after he and Steve talked about losing Coulson. Those metal clanks, in the end, are like honorary cannon fire for a fallen soldier at their military funeral. The way the characters were standing in front of the river for Tony's funeral...they were standing in descending order of movies, except...Carroll Danvers, who inspired Nick Fury to start up the Avengers Initiative. As the man that put them all together first, Nick shows up in frame last...with all his hard work and belief in his program...the fruits of his labor are standing before him. There was a cartoonist who used that funeral scene as inspiration to draw all the heroes standing alongside the river as they mourn and pay tribute to the loss of Stan Lee. That scene of all the Avengers showing up at the same time, and the epic Avengers soundtrack made my theater lose it. I swear there was so much serotonin released in that place that it felt epically rememberable.😭😭😭 The theater went wild. My goosebumps had goosebumps. It was an experience like no other. At least for that night, everyone in that room was on the same team and same level. Differences be damned.
Your reaction to this movie Shanelle is the reason i love reactioners! loved it! Another year of great content Lass and for that I Thank You, Have a great holiday season and I look forward to more of the same please next year! Keep up the great work you're doin great!
So you finally reached the end, Shanelle! Congrats! There was a dialogue between Cap and Tony in the 1st Avengers movie, if I remember correctly, when Cap says Tony would never be a team player, take one for the team. Andvthen look what happened.
if you pay attention, tony always improves his suits when a weakness is revealed (the icing problem in iron man 1). after not being able to remove the gauntlet from thanos' arm in infinity war, he was inspired by his meeting with his dad in endgame (when howard goes to shake hands with tony but tony grabs howard's finger out of panic and howard replies "shake it, don't pull it") to use nano bots to be able to shift the location of the stones when he built his own gauntlet.

I think everyone cried at one point or another .😭😭😢😢
Black widow is the bravest and most selfless avengers.
There are UA-cam vids that show theater reactions to the end credits. You should see those! They are heartwarming.
😢 I've watched many reaction videos of many UA-camrs but yours was the one i was looking for

Shanelle several months ago: "I don't like superhero movies, they do nothing for me."
Shanelle after Endgame: 😭😭😭😭😭
Shanelle after seeing MCU views for her channel and deciding to change her mind. 🤑🤑🤑
I had the same exact thought. Lmao
I want the short film of the awkward conversation Cap had with Red Skull when he went to return the soul stone
😂
Cap: I am returning the stone, now give me Natasha.
Red Skull: No.
[Insert epic fight sequence here.]
Same!
See the HISHE version of Endgame
You and me both.
They all saw it squeak, but only Thor knew Mjolnir well enough to know what that meant.
She barely remembers what happened in the movie she's watching.
Tony's character arc mirrors RDJ's real life.
This is the biggest event in cinematic history. 10 years and 21 movies all leading up to this moment.
22:06 “I guess Loki actually is dead.” He did die, but if you will recall, when they pulled the time heist, Loki grabbed the tesseract and teleported away, so there is a Loki running around.
**a**
Yes that Loki escaped but.. *in theory* he either got trapped in a void somewhere or ceased to exist, cause if time works to way I know it can.. yeah he's gone and there's no way of getting that Loki back
There's a whole TV show about it.
Watch Loki show, Season 1 and 2.
But note this Loki hasn't had the events with Thor that happened in Thor: Ragnarok.
Thank you - I've never fully made that realization.
8:33 I wept like a river, especially when Cap finally gives us "Avengers Assemble"
There is acually no way that anyone even heard him say Assemble, it was like a whisper. It was AVENGERS assemble.
@@sutej72 Shut up, it's more powerful to say it quietly. LOL
Cap telling Tony that he isn't the one to make the sacrifice play in the the first avengers and then this.... so good.
Tony actually does a sacrifice play twice. At the beginning of the Avengers (the nuke) & at the end of Avengers
I felt it again, with you, Shanelle. We all cried in the theater and I just did, again.

The reaction business is “fall in love with the shows people love.”
It shows how Tony learns from each battle and improves his tech. Knew how hard it was to get the glove off so used nanotechnology to get stones.
The part when they come back through the portals and the hero's charge has to be the most EPIC scenes in cinematic history. You asked if we cried: I've seen this movie countless times, and I cry every time. The payoff (of having watched all those movies to get here) is so rewarding. SO GOOD.
1. Tony didnt made another shield..remember, he took it from cap after civil war
2. Tony made it clear that meeting urself during the time travel doesnt affect the future..because by the movie's time travel logic, it doesnt work like that..
3. The tesseract timeline goes like this..Odin left it on Earth>Red Skull acquired it>Howard fished it in the ocean>Shield had it (1970)>Shield gave it to Wendy Lawson of Pegasus>Wendy hid it from the Kree>Goose ate it>Shield acquired it again and started to test it again>Fury hired Selvic to study it>Thor stored it in Asgard>Loki stole it>Thanos acquired it from Loki
Loki reacquired the tesseract during the "time heist"
The only person how had the entire real script was RDJ. The rest got partial and fake scripts
@@bryanlivov7489 That wasn't supposed to happen, that doesnt count towards it's journey
One thing you also got to remember is that this was a 10yr journey for most so the deaths hit harder given the time passing IRL.
Which is why the new _Star Trek_ short film hits like a planet-killing asteroid: 58 years.
8:34 ... I started when Clint lost his family and never really stopped
He was alive when this came out. What are you talking about lol.
@styles9956 talking about watching the reaction or somebody first time seeing it years after he passed
Nah. Interstellar in IMAX was 1000x better.
14:40 "Why is he still here?" Because Tony is salty enough to want Thanos to see all his people disappear, lol.
@@spriken both Thanos and Spider-Man took the longest to dust away because they were the two toughest
Phase 4 was also not nearly as popular because most of the movies were very mediocre if not downright bad.
@@dablomp "why everything after Endgame was not popular" Spider-Man NWH? GotG3? Deadpool & Wolverine?
Seeing this in the theater was SUCH an experience! The crowd was so into it, and we all cried and cheered, it was amazing!
One metric I use to evaluate the quality of a movie is "Cheers and Tears". This one is a 10/10 on both counts.
My favorite part of the whole movie is when Cap tricked the Hydra dudes into handing him the scepter.
"Did y'all cry this much?" Girl, the WHOLE theater was balling!!!!😭😭
Big moments:
-I remember first hearing a few minor gasps when it showed the "Five Years Later" text.
My cinema sat in stunned silence waiting for an after credit scene. One of the cinema staff came in to announce there wasn't one.
I'm still awake after my overnight shift just so I can watch this before napping.
Do we both work at the same store?
If u rewind back to Civil War when Hawkeye first met BP, he introduced himself as Clint. T'Challa said "I don't care!" Now he called him by his name! Rest easy Chadwick!
How did the hammer come to him? Three little words: CAP IS WORTHY.
Keep on making your videos they’re Awesome just like you are!!!❤️💯
11:11 "I am Ironman" is how the MCU started. Fitting it ends that way too.
His name is Iron Man, not Tony Ironman.
Shan could barely get her "let's talk about it" out omg 😭
Damn I never thought shanelle would get this emotional, from the history of past 22 movie reaction i never expected that, she never even flinch in the past ones😅😅, loved it
“I like seeing them dominate Thanos” as Thanos handles the 1V3 with ease
The theater went wild when Cap called the hammer to his hand.
43 damn years old.. and crying like a baby like I was in the theater with everyone else… thank you Shanelle
It was all worth it to see Shanelle's genuine "assemble" reaction
One of the largest grossing movies of all time ends with a dance and it's perfect!!
9:46 well,finally! someone said it 😊🤷♂️
Really pleased with how much you enjoyed the MCU. It's been very gratifying.
Driving home after the movie in the night alone was so unreal.. sobbing every now and then not wanting to believe..
This was a HARD WATCH! Not the movie, but seeing you go through the emotional wringer!😢
Cap getting with Peggy finally at the end of the movie always gets me right in the feels!🥲
13:02 this is where things started getting South 😢
But knowing that Tony was asking her opinion/permission on whether to lock the idea away and just go to bed she knowingly asks “But would you be able to rest?”
After he’s saved everyone through his own self sacrifice, she tells him “We’ll be ok. You can rest now.”
She knows Tony has a memory for those sort of exchanges and would know exactly what she meant.
_2:54__ It can’t be that easy._
_3:07__ Nope. It sure can’t._
16:52 -- "That's the hero gig right? - Part of the journey is the end." yea.. Sometimes, the worst part..
When people ask me what my favorite movie is, my answer is from Iron Man to End Game. There will never be an epic cinematic journey like this one.
Thank you for letting us be in this journey with you! Sending you the biggest hugs!!!!❤️😭❤️
When he said "Assemble" everybody watching got shivers up and down their spine
We're not there yet."
The Russo brothers thought it was hilarious and left that in as the scene.
"Don't do anything stupid til I get back."
To which Steve answered "How can I? You're taking all the stupid with you."
For Endgame it was Steve who said the first line and Bucky answered back.
I swear there was so much serotonin released in that place that it felt epically rememberable.😭😭😭
The theater went wild. My goosebumps had goosebumps. It was an experience like no other.
At least for that night, everyone in that room was on the same team and same level.
Differences be damned.
This was an excellent reaction 👏 thanks for the ride ❤️
Your reaction to this movie Shanelle is the reason i love reactioners! loved it! Another year of great content Lass and for that I Thank You, Have a great holiday season and I look forward to more of the same please next year! Keep up the great work you're doin great!
"Did you guys cry so much"? Are you kidding? I'm crying now... again!
So you finally reached the end, Shanelle! Congrats! There was a dialogue between Cap and Tony in the 1st Avengers movie, if I remember correctly, when Cap says Tony would never be a team player, take one for the team. Andvthen look what happened.
I love that they wanted to put Thor back in shape Chris's like "No, this'll work."
if you pay attention, tony always improves his suits when a weakness is revealed (the icing problem in iron man 1). after not being able to remove the gauntlet from thanos' arm in infinity war, he was inspired by his meeting with his dad in endgame (when howard goes to shake hands with tony but tony grabs howard's finger out of panic and howard replies "shake it, don't pull it") to use nano bots to be able to shift the location of the stones when he built his own gauntlet.
Before the next MCU movies you need to watch (and please react) to the Wandavision miniseries.
