you know there are songs you go on listening to until you feel like you will get sick.. but then it keeps on playing in your head for the rest of the day.. this one is one of those songs
I've seen them live probably four times over the six years that I've liked them, and are one of the few bands I still like from then. They're older mature guys, relatively, so no jumping around or face-melting. If you like their albums, you'll like them live. They're talented, they've been around the block, and they can play. They're not a mind-blowing live show, but I always feel proud of them.
Out of Traditional, Art, Popular, and Spiritual, this is Popular. Don' get to specific. If anything it has a 2 step-feel, that's all you need to know. In the end ALL music in the Western comes from Jazz, Blues, and Gospel. They are just fusions of them. What this isn't is Sensationalism, what a lot of you are trying to get at.
That is awesome. My son plays trumpet and we were just listening to the brass in this song and really enjoying all of it. The trumpets are awesome in this song.
The hail from Austin, TX, but Spoon resides in Portland, Oregon now. For at least 6 mo. - get it straight Leno. But thanks for posting, its a great song
what you said pretty much rings true... I saw them in Toronto about a month ago besides from a hilarious comment regarding a couple of shirtless men in the audience they pretty much kept to themselves but that isn't to say they weren't grateful because I found them to be very gracious and humbled by the crowds response (which was uproarious) all in all I'd still say it is more than worth it to see them live they a play a fucking tight set
Damn good tune, just saw this video on VH1 last night and I love it. I didn't even know they have a new album out I have all of their other albums and they're unreal!!! Aguante Spoon Carajo!!!
judging by their concerts they love using the special voice effects...I really loved Spoon when Britt just sang w/o it! He doesn't need it by a long shot!
Phil Lynott would be proud to know that he had influenced so many young musicians. Love the sound and the horns, and I usually don't care for horns....strange.

This song has been used in 17 again, Horrible Bosses, and I love you man
kenflowfohsho03 and now in Spider-Man Homecoming!

I'm scared that one day I'll have listened to this song too often and it won't be able to take my breath away anymore.
Hope you can love it again a decade later
@@descendintostanarchy: Still takes my breath away. Thanks for the reminder, made my week :)
i love his voice and he sing really well live
Amazing song, amazing performance, and LOVE the part where Jim, in true "fuck it" fashion, tosses the maraca behind him for the final chorus.
Spoon is the best thing on the table.
When I first heard this on the radio I thought it was a classic rock song from years ago! I love it.
Love it! That bass trombone really makes this song.
What a joyful performance. A band that loves what they do.
a live performance to be remembered; watching this at least once a week
Saw these fellas in April and they are all over it
There are no hand claps! That's the best part of the song...
Ga 5x has so many awesome little sound bits tucked away in it that makes it so fun to listen to, this song being no exception.
Spoon fucking rules.
This is legendary

My dad was one of the original horn players. The trumpet player on the left in the music video.

what a great little performance of a cracking song!
Spoon is the best forking band in the United States -- and anyone who knows it can't all be wedding cake would agree.
Didn't know this existed, thank you so much for posting!
Such a great live performance of a very nuanced song!
wish I could pay a whole horn section!
noisepuppet love your poops and taste in music
BEST SONG EVER!
their best song by far, just brings enlightenment :)
Austin Texas = God of all Cities, Proud to live here :D
The hail from Austin, TX, but Spoon resides in Portland, Oregon now. For at least 6 mo. - get it straight Leno.

Una de mis canciones preferidas ! :')
ahh i love spoon...
their songs have hella meaning to me.
yup.....this song is so awesome.....
this song was sick in 17 again!
ever since i saw 17 again, i wanted to know this song.
I'm good friends with the drummer! They are truly an extraordinary Austin band.
It's clearly being played at a faster tempo than the studio version. The mixing is fine and the horn section is playing it correctly.
When this song suddenly appeared in the background on HIMYM I literally got goosebumps.. it was just to much awesomeness on one screen!
Lawsuit Up!!!
brilliant song.
Of course i will assist their performance in El Paso!!!
Man, I love Spoon

It's not easy going on Letterman with 15 guys on stage and playing a song like this. Spoon rocks!
That song is from so many movies
Gallium Gallium Gallium Gallium Gallium!!~
great stuff! i like how your could hear letterman right at the end say 'yeah...nice going boys!'
wow they are the best band to hit earth... the guitar didn't sound much though but the bassist did it perfect!
Listening to Spoon reminds me of northwest Georgia for some reason... go figure. :P
Damn good tune, just saw this video on VH1 last night and I love it. I didn't even know they have a new album out I have all of their other albums and they're unreal!!! Aguante Spoon Carajo!!!
this guys are the boom! 4realz
I agree about the Gary Busey thing!
His voice actually reminds me of Phil Lynott
Absolutely 100%!!!
heck yes
buenisima cancion, de esas rolas en las que te puedes subir a la mesa del bar y bailar con cadencia pacheca,.,.
17 again brought me here
ga ga ga ga ga > kill the moonlight
judging by their concerts they love using the special voice effects...I really loved Spoon when Britt just sang w/o it! He doesn't need it by a long shot!
I can't believe these guys played live in L.A. the same date I was at the Hwd Bowl seeing...Phoenix?????
The sound he made was hilarious
wow good call
omgggggggggggg
hahaha, 17 again brought me here 2.
GO ATX! Great song ;)
His melodies, too. Even more, in fact. Try "For Those Who Love to Live," maybe.
Spider-Man homecoming brought me here
oh britt's face after.."and you won't talk to the waterboy"...i want to know the joke too..
@2008Messenger But ya know who they sound like on this one? A Rockin' Billy Joel!!
good idea
Awesome performance, I woulda brought another guitar player though
Reminds me a little of Billy Joel too.
@jfsa380 definetly does, maybe an influence from british bands. I hear some of The Kinks in there, (who I love by the way.)
this was in clover field in the party
このアルバム欲しいのに全然ない。
@Eblanc
You smokin' dope bro?
Seriously, nothing was out of place in that moment in time.
Song is in 'I Love you Man'
I bet Jeff Lynne kicks himself in the ass for not writing this
Phil Lynott would be proud to know that he had influenced so many young musicians. Love the sound and the horns, and I usually don't care for horns....strange.
Jake Busey channelling Nick Lowe, I think. :)
@apolloishigh British via Texas! :D
hah, same here. i watched i love you man just like less than 10 min.
@2008Messenger big call
what´s your problem? this performence is awesome!!
OK wrong host, but Spoon lives in Portland now. As well as The Shins, The Decemberists, M Ward, and the Thermals and Death Cab for Cutie.
