as a back of the pack runner who runs a 6 hour marathon - thanks for being there for the back of the packers and acknowledging them. Truly. It means a lot. A lot of people ignore us. From the bottom of my heart, thank you
As an Australian I can say many of our hearts are absolutely broken for America. It is absolutely beyond me how so many people think they’ve made the right choice here when it is an absolute disaster. Sending you all so much love and strength for the next 4 years ❤️
Hey Chelsea, hugs from Istanbul. Just here to say, as a Turkish citizen, we've been living our own hell under this government for the past 30 years. But one thing I'm damn sure of-hope is always there, even on the darkest days. Standing in solidarity with you all who are feeling disappointed, sad, and lost.
@@michaelsprouse1490 Fair question. The government has followed a systematic and consistent policy of dumbing people down, keeping them poor, and making them dependent on the state. And unfortunately, they did it through what they call “undebatable” religion. First, they offered people the best conditions this country had seen, then started to take them away. They began to restrict our streets, our fun, our music; they took away university deans and appointed their own rectors, modified the content of primary and high school curricula, and started to shape the new generation. They changed TV programs; the quality of shows and movies dropped. They even altered architecture, implementing their own aesthetic and color palette everywhere. And they did all of this bit by bit, slowly, over the last 30 years. Believe me, we’ve done a lot. We took to the streets; we started the Gezi resistance. We still organize pride marches every year to fight for LGBTQ rights, even though it’s banned. When they banned us from marching in the squares, we took to the side streets. You might ask, "Where’s the hope here?" The hope is in our past. We were free before; we’ve tasted freedom, and that’s why we’re not giving up. We know what they’ve taken from us, so we won’t let it go. The new generation they’re trying to “educate” sees things clearly; they don’t buy into their nonsense. As for religion, their efforts have started to backfire. People have started to lose respect for what they once believed in. Now they want justice and freedom from the state, not religion or morals. That’s why, for the first time in 30 years, the opposition (left-wing) won in the last local elections. Our misfortune is that our struggle is with Islam. Compared to other religions, Islam has very strict, rigid rules. So there’s more hope for you. What you’re up against is ignorance and corrupted nationalism. Fighting that is easier than fighting with Islam.
I don't comment often, but after the election news, I came straight to your channel for comfort. Your videos just feel like spending time with a close friend, especially while mine are so physically far away. So thank you for what you do, Chelsea. You really are a gem on the internet. 💚
Hey Chelsea! Just wanted to say "hi" for the first time :) I've been watching your vlogs for a year and a half now, I think. Your vlog is what I wait for every Friday. This week was, in particular, personally hard for me, and also even though I'm not American and I did not participate in the elections, the results crushed my hope for a better future since this world is already too harsh for too many of us. Wishing you and everyone on here all the best and also sending virtual hugs to those who need them :))
I don’t usually comment, but I think the most important thing moving forward after this election is building community and can I just say you’re doing it with this channel! If you are looking for books to read to better educate yourself on U.S. history I’d recommend checking out “A Different Mirror” by Ronald Takaki. I think it’s a great starting point and you can also read chapters out of order or revisit different parts easily. My English teacher in college had us read this book and it honestly changed my perspective in such a positive way and empowered me to continue educating myself :)
Thanks for the hugs- very much needed and appreciated.😢. Hugs back to you too! Hope your beautiful kitties did well with their surgeries and are recovering nicely.
I have no words for the week, other than we have to persevere and be there for anyone considered an “other”… I don’t comment much but I love your channel and the kitties are getting SO BIG 😻😻😻.
Chelsea - I love watching all of your vlogs but this week’s was much appreciated. We have very challenging, dark days ahead but watching the runners at the finish of the marathon and the responses for your community helps me feel hopeful💔💔.
Just to say.. I feel not alone when I watch your vlogs because they’re realistic and not about materialistic things. I don’t mean to throw shade at other UA-camrs just saying your channel allows me to relax and breathe. Going through some stuff here so I appreciate your content and have for a while now 💕 keep being you:)) Your words near the end of the race was sooo needed btw!!!!
Hugs back to you, Chelsea! It has truly been a draining week!! The rollercoaster of disappointment, disbelief and anger has been taxing. But we must keep our heads high. Keep calm and carry on!
Hi Chelsea - always a pleasure to watch your vlogs and, as many others have said it's a real comfort in a time of great uncertainty and crushing disappointment. There is always hope... I would also like to encourage others to learn as much as possible about our political system, judicial system, and how our government works in general. I fully believe that there is definitely strength in knowledge and that certain powers that be (or those that soon WILL be) are doing their best to keep people poor, sick and generally ignorant of how things actually are. Those are the people that they reach - the un-educated. I appreciate you!
Sending you a virtual hug as well! I've been watching your videos for a while and specially these days while trying to avoid the news. In Spain where I'm from, there is so much rage and sadness around because of the flood couple weeks ago, and now what happened in the US just feels like the world is going even crazier 😞 it's good to see real kindness in the comments!
Thanks for the hug. I feel like I had a voter's high...and then crashed. Trying to look for any little thing good right now. Catching glimpses you showed of my neighborhood helped. And at least the weather's been beautiful. I'm hanging out on my fire escape.
Thank you so much for sharing this vlog with us! Hearing you talk about how inspiring the runners are is honestly inspiring me to want to start running again!
Anger, sadness - and yes I am into learning all I can about everything government - at the ripe old age of 66! It's unbelievable. Running is an awesome way to help with anxiety and all the feels.
I'm so sorry for the centipede - no need to panic. Just take a cup and a piece of card and scoop it up and put it outside. They have really weak jaws and won't go out of their way to bite you!
HI Chelsea! I bought the bat wings for our kitties too - got some cute photos so it was worth the purchase 😀 Re the election - I can say for many of us up here in Canada - we share the same sentiment that you have 🇨🇦 🇺🇸
Such an exciting vlog!😁 It’s amazing to see you getting out and soaking in the energy of Marathon weekend in NYC! can’t wait to see more of your adventures!💛
Marathon day is the best! I remember when I ran the NYC marathon there were people cheering us on from the minute we got off the Verrazano bridge into Brooklyn until we got to Central Park. The city truely comes together to cheer on thousands of strangers from around the world. It is truly magical!
There is nothing nothing like the excitement of a nyc event, hopefully they won’t take that from us. Thank you for being real. Good luck to the babies with their healthcare.
Chelsea! I met you for the first time at the expo! I can’t thank you enough for pinning your last year’s marathon video, which gave me some much needed inspiration. I only had three weeks to train and this year was brutal but we finished thanks to the incredible crowd this year. I look forward to running in 2026 and am volunteering (not 9 + 1, just for funsies) at the Mile 21 water station next year! Thank you for sharing your love of the marathon and I wish you the best of luck in your training!
Your cats add so much fun & personality to your videos. Love how they helped sponsor the Brooklinen sheets (always wanted to try, in love w/my Peach Skin sheets for now). Loved the Lion King reference 😂 Your eyes looked so sparkly in the sun at your marathon they were turquoise in the sun 😍! I think it's great that you have an outlet such as running & it helps you with so many things. What an accomplishment to participate in those events, pat yourself on the back! I was in cross country in HS & hated every second of it but I loved how you showed up to support your friends. I too was super disappointed in the results of the election. He's a prime example of how you can have a ton of money but no class whatsoever. Why is America so fixated on those who have wealth: celebrities. I'm pretty sure other countries aren't like this.🤔
Good to see you again Chels!! Always love these weekend in the life vlogs. I actually paused this vlog to go on a run because i felt inspired when seeing you run the 5K. Sending hugs back! love ya see you next time girl!!!❤
YOURE SO COOL I look forward to your videos sooo much :) thank you for being so raw! I look for similar UA-camrs and can’t find ANY! Chelsea is one of a kind 🎉
I clink your marshmallow fluff spoon with my mac’n’cheese fork! Clink, clink! 😂 Another great and inspiring video full of those wonderful glimpses of the city I’m so glad you share. Congrats on the great run and fun volunteering gig! And as for the state of the world post election, I feel ya sister. I live in the Midwest but I’m in a New York state of mind about all of that.💙🗽💙😉
Hello from Houston, TX. I feel the very same about the election results. Too many emotions to list. I turn to videos like yours for comfort, peace and a welcome break from the chaos. Love your channel ! ☮️ 💙
Always love your vlogs. I’m so glad the kitties are recovering well. My cats are of no help with bugs, but they might point out a bug or lizard. Thank you for your final thoughts at the end, I feel the same way. Sending hugs to you and anyone else reading this. ❤
What a week with all the highs and lows you’ve experienced. The running community really is an engaging one for you. Props to you for supporting your marathon running friends, it’s great to get that support. I also love that you supported those who were still going at the six hour mark, your generous and kind personality is always shining brightly ❤❤. Your cat babies are growing up so fast, the most loved kitty cats in NYC lol. As for the election, I agree, get yourself up to speed on politics, the history and the latest policy and program frameworks. We are relying on our younger generations world wide to influence and change political directions. ❤❤❤
Thank you for making this video, Chelsea. When you used the term "whiplash" regarding the marathon and then US news, that resonated with me as sort of a rewind; I was a spectator at the race last year, and a participant this year, having been given the opportunity to run with one of the friends that I observed 364 days prior. Looking at the spots where I saw both of my friends run last year as I ran past this year was asynchronous and juxtaposing at the same time, and I tried to take in the journey of the past year as I was battling fatigue, joy, and a sense of being overwhelmed by my environs in NYC that day! In this, I recall over the past fifty-two weeks your own marathon from 2023, something that you reference pretty regularly in your vlogs since. I just want to let you know that your Marathon 2023 race day vlog has been a source of inspiration for me since then, and it has helped me realize my goal to actually be on the racing side of the traffic barriers this time rather than the spectating end (although I must admit that having done both, cheering the NYC Marathon is definitely more fun than running it)! Take good care, and just so you know, my cat likes to take to the litter box the minute I/my family members get home and try to eat lunch/dinner together - wonderful, isn't it?!
Thanks for cheering us on last Sunday, I can’t believe it’s been a week already 🥺 I was gonna run in 2023, but had to defer my entry to this year. I remember watching your recap after the marathon last year and you said that it was one of the best experiences ever, and girl, it did not disappoint!!! It was sooo good and the energy of the spectators is unmatched, truly on top of that “best days ever” list. I’m gonna do the 9+1 again next year, so I can repeat this wonderful race! So see you at the t-shirt station next year at the expo 👋
I enjoy your vlogs. I really should comment more often. I agree with everything you said about the election and community. You got me thinking, I need to learn more about politics.
So glad I found your corner of UA-cam. Your videos are so calming and real. I absolutely love that about you. Having one of your videos to focus on when I'm anxious is a blessing
Nodding in agreement to everything in this vlog. Also motivating me to run today since we have our 5K coming up in a few weeks! Thanks for another great vlog. Much appreciated this week! ❤
Great video! Love seeing you support your friends (and strangers) who ran the marathon. Also congrats on your successful 5k! I can relate to your feelings re the election. I believe many misinformed and uninformed people voted in this election for various reasons and we got the outcome we did, so I commend you for wanting to know more about the policies that are out there. We need more people who actually care about how these policies will effect everyone. Have a great week! 😊
NYC Marathon is the very best! As someone who lives on the west coast, thanks for sharing your NYCM weekend experiences! Next best thing to actually being there in-person! 🎉
I was also out cheering for the marathon this weekend and the vibes were SO good. Feels so nice to see how happy you can make people when you yell out their name!! also, I felt similarly after the election this week and I really appreciate hearing what you said ❤
Well done on running and supporting your running friends :) and others :) sure KG and LD will be ok I have been through it myself and they will forget it once they have healed up. It's much better for them in the long run and improve their health. Hope everything is ok with you :)
So glad to see you posted. I just got home from the hospital today after 8 nights. Needed this. Trying to get my dog to go to bed at 7:40. I missed him so much.
Indeed knowledge is power good on you Chelsea to read more about US politics ! I watched the NY marathon too my friend celebrated his 50th on the 31st and ran his 7th marathon.. the vibes and watching someone conquering something hard and never giving up is so uplifting.. thanks for posting oh the Halloween outfits so funny !
Omg volunteering for marathons is the best. I'm a runner, but not a marathon level runner. And just signing up to keep spectators off the course, hand out water, tell people how long till the next porta potty, whatever. It's such an uplifting experience.
It’s beautiful how you talked about wanting to learn more about politics, what an amazing role model ❤. I was in complete disbelief after hearing the election results. Oh well, hoping we can change things for the better in the future!
So happy every week to see your videos! Looking forward to the progress of the sourdough, too! I so wanted to send you a photo of my dog. I had a deer antlers headband (for the dog), that he would let me put on him and take the photo and that was it. I also had a little wreath that he would let me hang it on his head (like around his neck) and take the picture and that was also it. They were both so cute, too! And, now I am bummed as I can only find the antler photo 😢. He has not been with us for around 10 years. You have inspired me to look for it now!!
Yayyy was hoping for a Jen spotting!!! Love the support you were giving everyone, so wholesome

Im already frisking crying seeing that you volunteered at Expo. Im a frikkn MESS w emotion overload leading up to and conquering NYC 26.2 '24. It was brutal epic and so beautiful. Okay Imma get the tissues out now. Luv u
I needed this, thank you. My grandpa did end up passing on Nov 1st. Had a whirlwind trip back home to say goodbye. After the election and them funeral I’m just very depleted.
The expo shifts on Thursday or Friday morning are favorite to volunteer for the +1. You get to see runners who just flew in and they're super excited for the race and excited to visit NYC.
It's been long week, friends. Here's a virtual hug and pass it on!! 🫂🫂🫂
whats the vibe like in NYC? i cant imagine. I am in Europe..used to live in NYC and will never forget the day after in 2016 when this pyschopath won.
Thanks for mentioning the disaster of November 5th. WTF.
So many hugs!
Sending hugs from across the pond Chelsea 🫂
💙 💙 feel for you guys over there. Good plan btw.

Slow or fast. Finishing is always my goal. I am right back there with you in the back of the pack.

I thought the thumbnail said 'volunteering & ruining the current vibe of the city' and I was like damn girl what have you been doing 😂
HAHAHA well maybe a little of both lol
This comment gave me such a good laugh! Thanks girl! 🫂❤️

Chelsea - I love watching all of your vlogs but this week’s was much appreciated. We have very challenging, dark days ahead but watching the runners at the finish of the marathon and the responses for your community helps me feel hopeful💔💔.
Needed this and a hug like WATER after this week. Thank you. ❤

I feel the same way Chelsea. If we stand together, we can make great change. Great vlog! Have a great week!
Also, love that you were there to support the runners in the evening!! I'm committed to doing this next year!
My pups Sully and Alfie say hey Gordo and Delilah! They are always so excited and howling when they make a cameo!
Hugs to u too ur videos are always so inspiring ive never been to nyc so I live through it through you. Looking forward to ur marathon
great bubbles!!!! Love it!
I've been feeling overstimulated and your videos bring so much comfort.
NYC Marathon is the very best! As someone who lives on the west coast, thanks for sharing your NYCM weekend experiences! Next best thing to actually being there in-person! 🎉
I was also out cheering for the marathon this weekend and the vibes were SO good. Feels so nice to see how happy you can make people when you yell out their name!!
also, I felt similarly after the election this week and I really appreciate hearing what you said ❤
Well done to all those runners. Hope the cats get on ok with their surgeries. They’re so sweet and I can’t believe how much they’ve grown x
Thank you for another vlog and taking us along on your adventures no matter what is going on! I hope you are doing well!!
Chelsea, thank you for addressing the good and the bad in this video! Much love to you!
Great Vlog Chelsea. Glad to see you enjoying yourself, and sharing the fur babies with us. Be Well !!
Love to you Chelsea 💙💙
Indeed knowledge is power good on you Chelsea to read more about US politics ! I watched the NY marathon too my friend celebrated his 50th on the 31st and ran his 7th marathon.. the vibes and watching someone conquering something hard and never giving up is so uplifting.. thanks for posting oh the Halloween outfits so funny !
Another great video Chelsea. You really lift my spirits. keep being you 💖
Omg volunteering for marathons is the best. I'm a runner, but not a marathon level runner. And just signing up to keep spectators off the course, hand out water, tell people how long till the next porta potty, whatever. It's such an uplifting experience.
love love love
It’s beautiful how you talked about wanting to learn more about politics, what an amazing role model ❤. I was in complete disbelief after hearing the election results. Oh well, hoping we can change things for the better in the future!
Good evening, Chelsea & babies! 😘🇸🇪
I appreciate you! Thanks for saying I Love 💕 U 💕your sprit and ❤️ ✌️🕊️
Yayyy was hoping for a Jen spotting!!!
Luv u
I was thinking of you!!! How did it go!! So proud of you!!! 👏 👏 👏
Yay! New video friday! Love all your videos, and I can't wait to see your sourdough journey ❤
Such an inspirational video!! Watching you has really made me consider giving running another try :)
