This movie is a work of art. More like 5 out of 5 stars. It's not about war, it's about insanity. The Vietnam War is just the backdrop, the original setting was decades earlier in the heart of Africa.
@@TelTalksMy comment could have been in more detail. by original setting, I mean the setting for Heart of Darkness, the novel the movie was based on. By making the movie setting the Vietnam War, they made the story more contemporary to the times in which it was made. Every single character in the movie has lost their marbles, and each person's reaction to insanity is very different. The scene of Lance admiring the explosions at Do Long bridge really sums the movie up.
It's not sad that you gave a masterpiece 2 stars. It's sad that it all goes over your head. You're missing a whole world. It's a generational thing. I saw this movie as an 11-year old and we found it enthralling. You guys have just been reared on mindless detritus. On McDonald's versus Wagyu. Anything beyond the one-dimensional is lost on you guys, which is truly your loss.
I’ve not seen apocalypse now it’s got some great actors in it,I do like a good war movie and seen some fantastic ones like full metal jacket ,hamburger hill hacksaw ridge and the one with Andrew Garfield in can’t remember the name now,Indian jones for 3 awesome number utter poo I did like the new one
Why are you reviewing this movie on UA-cam then. You want fantasy? Apocalypse Now is the antithesis of Fantasy. You went into this expecting a Saturday night popcorn kind of movie. This movie is not that at all. I'm 30 years old. Saw this when I was 12. Blows my mind to this day. Generational lense has nothing to do with it. This movie is timeless.
War and Gangster films are 2 genres I’ve never been able to get into. Apocalypse Now definitely falls into the category of good for when it came out but I’ve no interest in sitting through it again. No complaints about you not using my suggestion knowing what’s coming up, thank god it’s just the trilogy and you avoid number 4

Clue is in the title, I can appreciate the movie it just wasn’t for me. Sure there are classic films that aren’t for you too. 🤷♂️

Have to agree mate, probably why I haven’t seen these classic gangster films. Yeah very nice to get a classic trilogy early doors!
