I know people didn’t really like them but I’ve been in love with the Nemeziz 17+ agility 360. Have owned 4 pairs in a few different colors. I’ll definitely be bummed out the day I can’t find them anymore.

You hit the nail on the head with the over inflated resale prices. I got a brand new pair of the Hypervenom Phantom in the 2014 World Cup colourway for £80 back in 2016. I’d now have to pay £250+ for the exact same pair!
I've been getting F50s on ebay since they came out. Now, the prices are getting close to what they were released for.
I've taken care of and had my Total 90 Laser 1s since they came out and one of the high school kids on the team I coach offered me 200 for them 😂 I was like nah they're beat and I've had them for too long to give them up now
My theory is the players find a boot with fit and touch that is unmatched for them, and if newer models can't top it they will revert to their "old reliable". Fit is everything for the top players and some will sacrifice weight or new tech to get it. I imagine the next revolution in tech will be boots custom built - sole plate, stud patter, upper - to the geometry of individual players.

I've had a pair of tiempo legend 4s in my boot rotation for over 10 years now. If I ever spot a pair on the resale market, I think I'd risk it and pull the trigger. They're just so good, to me

I got the "pro" model a year ago and Idk what I'm gonna do when they break.. PUMA Netfit 4.1 is pretty close in terms of feel if you look for something similar. But there's nothing just like the Hypervenom 3 😩💔

I still have my adidas Beckenbauer super i bought in 1976.Still wear them every now and again. I currently alternate between my Puma king and adidas world cup. Both of which i have had for 20 years . I just cannot bring myself to take to the football pitch in boots that would be better suited to appearing on strictly come dancing. That is just my view , Im sure people love the newer boots but im just a dinosaur that survived the Comet strike. Very entertaining and informative program you post. Keep it up. Best,Gerry.
the models that you mentioned are durable and comfortable. Lots of young people are discovering it now. And honestly weight of football shoes are not really that important for adults - so no real advantage in new models.
I just bought a pair of Hypervenom 1s , newer isn't alway better. I see guys in my sunday league in old F50s and T90s all the time . I've had a pair of Vapor 13 pros the last 2 seasons that are broken in super soft.
I’m definitely a fan of Adidas’s remakes, I find them to be more interesting then the actual new stuff their releasing.

Had 2 pairs of Predator Instinct (2014). When adidas discontinued them, I immediately store them because I want to save them.. took them out couple of month ago, and the soleplate immediately broke off when I bend them 😂🤣😅

I had burned throughout the R9’s Nike from 1998 and paid $150 back then ! Now I dont pay more than $100 for a pair (tiempo and mizuno TF and phantom academy gt2 FG) Loving the pure grip socks thanks and great content in the videos.

Adizero F50s from 2013/14 just hit different. I swear I play better in them, trying not to thrash my last pair.
I’m still wearing hyper venom 3s. Got a pair of sg pro’s last year on eBay for $100. I have two outdoor pairs and one indoor pair that I will only wear.
i still have my total ninety boots and play with them sometimes the spikes are gone and glue but i love them

Not arguably. It is one of the best Vapors. I had the beautiful Euro 2012 Clash colorway, what I would do for another pair.
Biggest mistake I did was wear vapor V that were brand new, tore right on the first cut😅 I only paid $100 because the previous owner cut the lace cover off
I've kept my OG colorway of the Nike Hypervenom Phantoms. Haven't played with them in a while cause of an injury. Didn't realize the resale value of this boot was sitting over $700!
There's definite value to OG Hypervenoms, but I'm not sure that $700, especially if they're used, is a realistic value. Understand that "asking prices" are just that, and not necessarily a true determination of real value. In other words, I don't think there's an active market of people paying that much for boots.

In the early 2000’s I was able to get any football boots , I had the first F50s ,every R9 starting from the mercurial vapors 00- 06 total 90s 01-04 and the preds line till 06 Damm I messed up by gifting the majority of them. I wish I kept the Golden R9 🤦🏾♂️

I currently play in the pradator lz 2012 model they’re holding up fine after a season
I still use predator LZ one hell of a boot and should have enough pairs to last my life time
If you have a pair of boots that fit you perfectly and are readily available now, stock up. I wish the phantom venom was still readily available.

There is this new inflated market for old and resell products for soccer. This sellers just buy a product, and post it on a inflated price just to wait if someone bites on it. Just recently there a special for Bayern green Oktoberfest jerseys for $40. The special was over and now sellers are offering the same jersey for $120. Some people are bitting on this price gouging.

Instead of overpaying for a pair of boots like buying them 5+ years after release when they arguably become "retro/rare" I buy them abt 2 years after release for super cheap. About a year ago I bought hypervenom 3 ("PRO") for surprisingly cheap and I'm absolutely in love with them, same thing for PUMA Netfit 4.1.
I'm gonna probably cry when those hypervenoms break but those Netfits are like the closest thing to them so I'll have to stock up on them 😶

Would it be okay to visit a cobbler and replace the sole plate with the sole plate of another pie of cleats I have of the same size? would it maintain the same performance with the replacement sole?

I’ve been buying the f50 adizero for as long as I could afford them I bought my first pair the 2014 yellow Messi ones on eBay brand new with the box and insoles for 80 dollars and back in 2017 and they were the most comfortable shoes a couple years later I bought some all white leather 2013 adizeros and those last me a long time I ended up buying those at my local soccer store and they had so many other color ways they closed now but it’s a shame that they’re not open I would’ve bought the rest of their stock

The materials are shit now...football cleats used to be amazing, Kleather supple w nice weight behind em for a rocket shot, now evrythings crappy tpu and some composite fo plastic materials that crack the plate after 1-2 hard szns.

The only reason I’d wear older models (mercurial fan) is that the newer designs are horrid, imo. Superfly 5 was ugly, 6 was ugly (except for the ones that had the swoosh on the sides only and not the toe box), vapor 13s were sweet. Not a fan of 14 and 15s. If 14s didn’t have the translucent upper and the ‘speed wing’, they would’ve looked nice, even 15s could’ve looked nice if they didn’t have that huge ass air branding on the inside.
Imo football boot tech hasn’t had a truly game changing innovation in a long time. Like there’s been advancements in construction and materials making them lighter but at its core the boots from 20 years ago (from my childhood) aren’t too dissimilar in feel from modern ones today. If you look at shoe tech in other sport like running and basketball and tennis the shoes are completely different and provide a huge difference in feel and performance and it’s rare to see athletes go back to older shoes.
agree - weight is not really that important. The most important is the feel, touch you have - and old leaver boots are really great.
