    ⚠I lied! In reality, small switches connect contacts opposite from their position (if the switch is up, the bottom two contacts "connect") This is shown here: i.pinimg.com/6...
    3 Position momentary switches are similar in configuration, but usually do not require an "on release". You could have an event "trim up" on press up, and "trim down" on press down, but wouldn't have to configure a "trim don't change" event.

    Thanks Captian Bob! You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find the diagram of the ON-ON-ON switch when you search for it. Seems so simple, but the search engines were NOT helpful. 2 years after you posted this, you fixed my problem, thanks again!

    Hi Cap, Thanks so much for your videos, very instructive !
    Something I don't get : there're a lot of pins on the board, but only a few "grounds". How do you do when all the grounds are used and you want to plug more buttons ??

    • @CaptainBobSim
      @CaptainBobSim  2 роки тому +1

      Hello! You would need to connect all of the grounds together so that they are all touching each other
      I explain this a little bit here: captainbobsim.com/2020/12/16/mobiflight-arduino-compatibility/
      There are many ways of doing this, from twisting a stripped wire to using terminal blocks.

    Love your videos! They have inspired me to build my own sim gear.
    I have a quastion that was posted earlier in this video: how do you connect multiple toggle switches to a limited amount of Grounds?
    I tried look it up on your website using the link you provided in the comment below, but i think a video on the topic would be great!

    • @CaptainBobSim
      @CaptainBobSim  Рік тому

      Just make sure all of the wire's grounds touch, then put one of the touching wires to ground.
      I'll put the idea on the list, but I do have a significant backlog right now.

    @ 0:43 the pin to the left and below hot A are those wired together (bridged) or is that just to indicate unused?

    • @CaptainBobSim
      @CaptainBobSim  2 роки тому

      I believe they are bridged on the switch design. As always refer to your switches data sheet if you have one for wiring information

    Hey, thanks for the video. I have a question regarding the toggle switch. Do I need resistors for them when using on a breadboard?

    • @CaptainBobSim
      @CaptainBobSim  11 місяців тому

      Hello! It's best practice to use resistors to pull up or pull down the signal but MobiFlight enables the Arduino's built in pull up (or down?) resistors so that helps filter the signal. I personally don't use resistors and I've had a good experience.

    Will this hardware setup work for racing simulators? I'm trying to set up an on-off-on toggle switch for a rear steer vehicle.

    • @CaptainBobSim
      @CaptainBobSim  10 місяців тому

      Not with MobiFlight (as of now) unless you configure it to a vJoy button.

      Yeah! You find it in the plugins folder of your X-Plane Directory when you download XPUIPC

      Same way, you'd just use MSFS2020 events instead of FSUIPC

      Check under settings to make sure offline mode is disabled. The light bulb should be gray. Also make sure you are using the correct sim and that the active checkmark is active

    I’ve done everything but can’t find the code for the switches I need to function is there an easier way to find the code you need because some codes are similar and some times you can’t even find the code (msfs 2020 ~ Hubhop)

    • @CaptainBobSim
      @CaptainBobSim  2 роки тому

      If you use MSFS2020 - Custom Input, you can search for your FS2020 (but not FSX/X-Plane) presets, then just select them from Select Preset below

      Are you on the latest version?
      Is you row activated (checkmark)?
      Also another go-to is your wiring. Have you tried just pressing bare wires together to make sure it's not a wiring issue?

      @@CaptainBobSim Not sure about the wiring but I use Jumper wires male to female and in which they both function the aurdino by lightning up whenever I function it lights up yellow but I don’t think that shows up in the logging whenever I function my Panel, There’s just 1 thing that I didn’t follow from your videos and was putting the aurdino or the fsupic files in the msfs folder but I have them installed
