Already looks like a great book! I’m personally working on soloing aswell and never thought to sing them along with the chords to internalize the sound! Great Video as always! Edit: Bought the book, it’s coming on Thursday! First time in a while that I’m excited for a book
hi Jason! I think that there is some right hand technique that you can copy from Danny if you want that sound. compare your fingers which is more horizontal to his which is more vertical. Danny's RH technique is pretty similar to Ray Brown's i think
I know you say it isn't and I DO get what you say about it being in the hands, but, I hear such a difference in strings though - that growl is more mechanical than simply length of time pressed down. But Great Video Jason. You are really a huge source of BASS for me. XXx
This video made me to subscribe. Congratulations Jason and Danny
GREAT idea, Jason. Love this!
Thanks, Paul!!
That's really good, I immediately ordered Danny's Book "The Low Down" and look forward to getting this one in the future.
Thanks for checking this out--it's a great book!

It's a great book for sure!
Great. Thank you.
You bet!
Jazz pizz vs orchestral pizz can get two very different tones (in terms of the ‘growl’).
Bass Gods
It appears to me that the "thin" tone issue Jason's complaining about may come more from his right hand.
It's easy to see the beginning of a nice tune coming from that first "singing" lesson.

the other thing is to treat your finger like a hook and use your arm weight to play the string! also a ray brown thing
Exactly... just a bit of work on your right hand will fix your tone. My problem is left hand :D
Nice camera!
Thanks! Using a Canon M50 with the “nifty 50” prime lens for the opening on this one.

Thanks-much appreciated!
