I have one thought about the end of this war and Russia losing which I’m 100% in favour of.
It’s a pity that the war cannot be concluded in Moscow so that the propaganda machine could be deconstructed and the Russian people made to really understand what was done to the Ukrainians in their name and what the true reasons for the war were and why the international community finds it unacceptable. To hear about this from the Ukrainian perspective in other words. Otherwise there will be no soul searching and the mindset of the Russian people, especially the Soviet era ones, won’t change. Instead there will be more hostility towards the west and a desire for revenge. And schoolchildren are now being militarised.

If you recall we had 2 Gulf Wars. GW1 under the elder Bush achieved it goal (liberated Kuwait)and stopped. GW2 had the over optimistic goal of regime change (remember we would be greated as liberators), that did not work out so well. We may wish that Russia had different leaders but the lesson Putin is learning and the lesson of GW2 is that changing the regime is up to the citizens of the country. We don't need the quagmire GW2 was or Ukraine is now for Russia.

i suspect to really understand what's going on so we in the west [and whosoever] know where to put their focus /energy /prayers to get this properly sorted in EVERY BODIES best interest ,is to look at this through a christian spiritual war fare framework . as in it's not so much the russian leadership that is bad and destructive . it's the beliefs they have and operate from that is doing the damage [they through their blindness have walked right into this mess and are the instruments that this evil is coming through ] ,to ukraine ,themselves ,the rest of the world and the russian people . [in some ways their minds and hearts have been highjacked and they're being used to cause destruction to themselves and everybody on the wrong end of their behaviour which is unsustainable ]. whereas "god's" /the kingdom way with a foundation of love is sustainable . we don't need a russian leadership change we need a russian leadership HEART ,ATTITUDE CHANGE so their behaviour changes . and they then can get their needs met without trying to runover everybody and cause all kinds of destruction to others and themselves .
to use christian speak ,there's another problem that's coming out of this which needs very careful management .russia's evil belligerent behaviour ,can be a stumbling block to ukraine in that they get pulled into escalating evil too ,instead of using a kingdom way to sort their hatred hurt abuse .they'll be more than tempted to "repay evil for evil" which will just make things more destructive for ALL concerned .if they proactively start going after russia and it's people to cause them pain and suffering . to me it's the long way round to solve this problem . next thing you missile our cities ,we'll missile your cities to make us feel better and to up your cost /pain . this would be an incredible temptation to Ukrainians but isn't sustainable and just make things harder to come back from .

Excellent interview. We've heard from the beginning about poor Russian logistics but we rarely think about the million little things soldiers need on the frontline. I was also struck by the dichotomy of thought regarding Russian military capability because in all of their engagements it seems that they haven't evolved past scorched earth tactics & mass sacrifice, yet western analysts kept/keep insisting Russia's army is "modern."
Politically I think it's hilarious that some in the west think the Russian people will rise up & overthrow Putin. If there is a power shift, the people are more likely to support someone like Prigozhin on the basis of "he brutal, he strong, he president." Since Russian "opposition" is hilariously inept, without leadership or vision, an actual democracy is not going to happen. We have to quit pretending otherwise, that's just fantasy.

The discussion was far-ranging and he had something to say that was worth listening to with every new topic. I enjoyed the interview very much and I have a lot to think about now. BYW. So weird to talk about how entrenched the notion is that Russia cannot lose this war. Didn't they lose Afghanistan? I am impressed with how innovative the Ukrainians have been and how the civilians, politicians, military brass and the soldiers all pull together. No entrenched thinking there. I believe they will defeat Russia as long as the politicians in EU and USA don't betray them. Fingers crossed that the General is not alone in believing in the Ukrainians!

High-level reasonably comprehensive discussion on many levels, which has not received news coverage deserved. Would be good to see the interview chunked by highlights from current chapter outlines into TicTok length segments and re-released for greater exposure.

That’s a great suggestion- and I’ll start to try and do that… it’s a difficult balance finding the time to get it all done…

@@SiliconCurtain Great interview and impressive how much solid news material was created - good luck in turning the relevant material over as a series of chunks, and possibly will see some picked up as background for other current news.

This is a very honest, informed conversation. There are so many US generals and colonels out there, current and former, as well as academics, pushing what is essentially Russia’s agenda.
“There can be no substitute for victory” has become a cliche, in the minds of these people. Can one imagine what a “negotiated settlement” in the American civil war would have looked like?

Russia must not be immune to Ukraine's retaking its territorial lands and waters including ALL of Ukraine's Crimea. Ukraine must REARM with nuclear capabilities. Lesson for Ukraine is that alliances, treatys, and agreements have proven to be meaningless paper trash.

Real amazing and encouraging interview. but not to the ukraining people. It seems that war is going to be decided by missiles fired from out of reach. we should find a way to win this battle this is the highest priority (not to be forced into negotiations). Other than that i allways share and admire the views of hr Hodges!!!!.

I was very glad to hear someone mention the thousands of tanks and other vehicles parked in the desert waiting to eventually be sold for scrap. The cost to provide these would be miniscule compared to the value that they can provide. I have written to several of my representatives pointing out this issue. But this is an opportunity that we should not ignore.
