Warning. Watching this ballet production can seriously change your life. I spent my life thinking ballet was rubbish and quite ridiculous. I had NEVER watched live ballet and perhaps glimpsed ballet 3 or 4 times on television. I avoided all opportunities to watch ballet, sometimes thinking that, as I so disliked ballet, I would mess up the evening for people who actually liked ballet. In 2012 Ballet Cymru came to the theatre in my home town with this production. I had absolutely nothing to do that night, so I thought that I might just as well see a ballet to fill in an evening. So I arrived and slumped down in my seat, expecting a washout of a night. (By now you might ask why I was paying to go and see a ballet if I seriously thought I was going to hate every moment of it, but I have a perverse sense of humour.) Anyway, I bought a ticket away from anybody else, so that my boredom would not be too apparent to the other people in the audience, and slumped down in my chair, expecting a boring washout of an evening. Then the lights went out, the curtain came up, the music started and Ballet Cymru started performing. Ten seconds later my bottom jaw hit the ground and stayed there for the rest of the night. I was absolutely enthralled for the rest of the production, and walked out of the theatre in a daze. Since then I have been going to watch ballet regularly. So, be warned, Ballet Cymru's Little Red Riding Hood And The Three Little Pigs turned me into a balletomane. If you watch it, this might just do the same for you!
