Same thing here, but i opened my first touhou game in april of 2021 yet, this gives extreme nostalgia even after a couple of months. It's like Ive opened the game for the first time again
8 years here. Touhou has changed a lot my life for the better indeed. I'm still wanting to, once i can get a job, start saving a lot, then go to Japan, and thank ZUN personally in some comiket or Reitaisai.
omg... i remember touhou 6 was my first touhou ever, an also i remember that the music file was broken from the way i downloaded the game file, so since i was a noob at this stuff, all i did was just continue playing using the midi music. This was the first touhou song i heard directly from the game. Good times!
I just found these videos today. I'm going to be listening to them all. A few years back I was really interested to know what ZUN's MIDI tracks truly sounded like, but I could never find any accurate recordings. Thanks a million for uploading all of these!
Personally, I like how this sounds in WAV format more. It feels more strong, and stuff. The SC88Pro MIDI version sounds nice too, because of its calmness. But I like WAV version more.
I think the only disappointing thing about this is that they probably could have rendered them with real endings, but are looped, and it's probably never going to happen unless somebody with similar preferences to me happens who happens to own an SC-88Pro re-renders all the MIDIs. But I still appreciate these, and am thankful somebody rendered them at all
They were made around the same time, and like EoSD, the tracks in DiPP were also composed for a different MIDI module than the one used in the final version. If Dolls in Pseudo Paradise was released in 2001 like ZUN was planning, it would likely have sounded like the SC-88Pro and SC-8850 recordings I have on my channel.
@@Angel_Flash The MIDI option just sends MIDI instructions to your system, so it will play on whichever soundfont your system has. (e.g. on Windows it's a Roland-based one)
Update: If you download the files Romantique has linked to and place them in your EOSD bgm folder and get rid of the extra files they'll work. They're a bit quieter than the wav, and they have iffy loops, but honestly it works
this is actually really pretty sounding aahh
Om cOmment 😳
Om cOmment :florshed:
10 years ago, this was the theme that changed my entire life forever, I'm just here to rekindle those beautiful memories~

I love this theme so much!
Touhou inspired me to make music
@@HirokaAkita live in japan, the chips there are always full
9 years for me, now. Touhou saved my life, once.
win版始まりの曲がいつものテーマ+博麗進行なの美しすぎない?

this playlist is one of the first hits when searching for the ost. We did it fam
Again, incredible how another synthesizer makes so much difference. Nice to hear what these originally sounded like!
MIDI版めちゃくちゃ好き

This feels like rediscovering an old friend or something, it's really great * - *
this sounds wai more calm rather than the original version
that flute really complements the feel of the song, and its kinda better on what we got on the wav version

Title should be waiting for the beat drop while selecting a character
rediscovered these videos after a long time, great work. I'm sure these will get a lot more publicity in the near future.
Feeling the power of midi
So much more soothing
この静けさよ……
紅に照らされた月をよ~くこのアレンジは表現していると思う
i love this
thanks man, this is great
The SC-88 or WAV posts remind me of the Famicom vs NES Castlevania rivalry
Change the Semitone to -2 and it will sound pretty close to the .wav version
Define beauty.
thank you, the .sf2 i downloaded didn't play this well at all
can somebody make a 10 minutes of this? :D
I usually play these on a yamaha OPL3 ymf262 synthesis chip
It kinda feels like the PC-98 tunes played in opl3, almost. Not quite the same punch, but still.
Were the Embodiment of Scarlet Devil midi's made before Dolls in Pseudo Paradise?

좋다
I like the wav version better
If I change the EoSD music files with these, will I be able to use this recording of the soundtrack? It's beautiful honestly
There's a setting in the options menu to switch between the midi and wav OSTs
It's SC-88 PRO MIDI I believe.

so now that Touhou music is on spotify, what are the odds of you uploading the SC88-Pro versions of the OSTs to spotify?
Do you have a version of this OST played with SC-8850 instruments?
Was the 88Pro reset to GS, CM-64 or GM mode, and was either of the two patch maps enabled?
Amo touhou
Why do the WAV versions sound so different? Couldnt he just record this and port it?
ZUN got his SD-90 in 2001 and wanted to try it so he remade the th6 OST and DIPP

It's been a month, and I have no idea what this is supposed to mean...
