I own Visodate since january this year. I only can say amazing swiss automatic watch for the price. Elegant, classy vintage look, nice details and my first choise for business/formal occasions.
There is something about this watch, that I cannot explain, that has always made me lust after it. I am sure that, for one, the styling is simple to the point of actually being elegant. Certainly, the "Tissot" script should NEVER have fallen into disuse; it's pure class.
I own one... Its a great watch for the money... but the black and blue versions can be hard to read in sunlight. The non reflective crystal can cause problems...however the white dial version is an excellent watch and probably the most practical of the 3 colours that Tissot offers.
Hey Eric, That is a great viewpoint to bring for everyone watching. I did not get my hands on the blue one so I appreciate you sharing that. Thanks for watching. -Jon Rihtar
@@watchspec Hi Jon... I went in to buy the blue dial... Its a beautiful watch.. but l just couldn't read the dial in bright light.. So l left with the white dial. I really would recommend trying on any watch before you buy. Like your reviews.⌚
Hi Tom, Thank you for watching and for the compliment. Let me know if you have any specific requests for a future Tissot review and I'll see what I can line up. Thanks again, -Jon Rihtar
I really appreciate this review. I just saw the new updated blue Visodate and at first glance it looked amazing, but the slower Powermatic 80 movement, the 42mm case and the 21mm lug width completely took me out of the market for that. It's ashamed because it is beautiful. However, after watching this vid I pulled the trigger on the previous model in this review. Can't wait to own it. Anyway, thanks for the time!
I also just purchased the previous automatic model with the ETA 2836. At a good discount too since they are being discontinued. I also have two Tissots with the Powermatic 80 movement but to me the older ETA movements are more user friendly, like the 2836 a real workhorse. They are all metal construction and any watchmaker can repair them.
This is the next piece on my hit list.I started collecting watches 2 years ago. So far i have a TAG F1,Longines Hydroconquest,Seiko 5 automatic and a Raymond Weil Tango.
You see that comment adds nothing to the discourse. Saids more about the individual making the comment than the comment itself as what was said is of no value.
Sweety, Tissot has been using ETA movements since the 50's, they're the "T" in "E-T-A". And that logo is one of the most elegant ones ever designed for a watch and really is a classic.
I’m buying a quartz version for a friend who is getting married - would you say you enjoy wearing it for casual and dressy occasions, or just when you are dressing up? :)
Just stumbled across your channel. Great content. I own the Visodate and Seiko Turtle 🐢 SRP775 amongst others. Both great and enjoyable watches. Thanks for the review.
Hey Syndicated Satellite, Being a mechanical engineer by trade, I am a sucker for automatic movements over quartz. However, there are several quartz offerings of this Visodate that I would say look better than the automatic (potentially 😁). Too bad they don't offer all styles in both movements. Thanks for watching. -Jon Rihtar
@@watchspec thanks for the nice review, which quartz version in particular would you say looks better the the auto you reviewed? Do you think 30m wr is too little for everyday wear?
@@GB-lx4jz , I really like the look of this one (especially the black): -Black: amzn.to/2EK6RJc -White: amzn.to/2JPkSt4 However, you can tell that I am impressed with the style of the Visodate automatic as well. Also, 30m is fine for daily wear. A watch with this spec has no trouble with washing hands or rain shower. Hey Jose, As an everyday watch I choose the Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic. Reason: the Hamilton at 38mm diameter and 10mm thickness will feel more comfortable. Also, being a field watch it will have better usability. Having said that, for someone who needs a more formal watch based on their profession, they would need to balance this aspect also. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching. -Jon Rihtar
LOL @ 40mm diameter is the "upper end of the acceptable range for a dress watch...." and right in the sweet spot for us old-timers whose eyesight has faded since we were young lads and frivolities like "what does the size of your watch face say about you as a person" seemed to matter to us a lot than they do at this age. Now I'm no more keen to wear a grandfather clock on my wrist than the younger and more fashionably literate... but when I look at my watch I need to be able to tell what time it is.
My observations were that too large at 40mm + why the obligatory exhibition case back that’s so important to modern day Tissot’s?, although have an unmarked steel-cased Tissot Antinmatique from 1954, has a 31.9 mm case with a creamy dial, saw a larger 36 mm version going for £1.116.59, I got mine for a fraction of the price.
Hi Jundi, The 40mm diameter on this watch allows for flexible for all wrist sizes, large to small. My wrist size measures 18cm just to give you a point of reference. In addition to the video, I have photos of this watch on my 18cm wrist included in my written review as well if this gives you an idea of how it will wear for you: www.watchspec.com/tissotvisodate/#Jump6 I hope this helps. Would it be appropriate in your opinion for a daily wear with milanese strap?
The Milanese strap is very comfortable. The case has a kettle shape and the top is 37 mm. So it wears smaller and is a fine dress watch imo.
