@@spankthemonkey3437 Most likely no. You can't run an engine without oil and mechanical failures are part of racing. You can, however, run water instead of coolant while your at the drag strip and water is much easier to clean up than coolant.

Standard track rules are no coolant other than water and surfactants.
At all tracks for decades.
If only you knew how hard it is to clean antifreeze off of a track. I've seen spills where it takes about 3 1/2 hours.
With all due respect many many cars run on Michigan dragstrips with antifreeze. People are swapping out their coolant in these cars;
Think Hellcats, Vettes, GT 500, daily drivers that go 11-s some run 10's in the 1/4.
I ran my S10 with Antifreeze as well, Milan Dragway, Come to think of it Pinks was at Milan

I've never seen a single dragstrip that DOESNT have a "No Coolant" sign.
You can sit here and throw anecdotes around all you want.
The clear and concise rules are no antifreeze products on any and all IHRA and NHRA tracks nationwide.
Your track may allow coolant. But its the exception if it does
Go check NHRA or IHRA websites it's written in clear verbage

Did you know Rich got the ability to fly after all the arm drops??? The last few years he's been part of a flock of Tundra Snow Geese flying the Champlain valley flyaway. They know he has been as far as the tundra from stains of the tundra on his chest. He winters in central America. 😅😂😅
Rich works at Circle K as a cashier in Phoenix Arizona , I seen him a couple weeks ago getting gas! I asked him if he was Rich from Pinks, he said yea! He did a arm drop for me! He told me Meth is a hell of a expensive drug!
Its pretty stupid for them to think that just becauee they stop accelerating that they arent sand bagging..... all you have to do is pull a couple degrees of timing, take a little boost out if your turbo or supercharged. There are so many ways to sandbag a race
today its easy ...this is from 20 years ago and yes things could be done but not easy.
Lack of acceleration will still show regardless. Your ASSumptions, and presumptions; show your eagerness to find the loopholes, and cheat so you don't get caught. I hope you don't apply this to your everyday life. However correct you are, also just as stupid for making assumptions, like people don't know how to look for bagging. I was just about to say modern racecars you can tune them to go exactly how fast you want while staying full throttle. Meaning you can tell a 3.80 car to go 4.0s and so on

I'm so glad I found this you tube I've missed all of these old drag racing shows .
All out works to a degree, but the big flaw is that the initial runs are in the heat of the day, and the competition is at night when the track gets better and the air temps are cooler (more power).

I met Rich, and spoke with him in a honest environment, it was hilarious that he though it would last a year, after giving a 2 year suspension. His credibility was shot and was grasping at strings to make it work. What is a floating minimum, please tell me

I don’t get why people hate Rich so much. He brought a racing program to tracks and paid a lot of money to people that get no recognition usually. I respect that.

If you plan to run your car at the strip, PLEASE run water as coolant. Pretty much every track's tech I've ever been to, seems to let this slide (and NHRA doesn't even REQUIRE it anymore) for street cars and crap, but honestly, even if you're running your "daily driver", you should REALLY do the right thing, and swap the coolant out for straight water for the night. If you have a spill, they're NOT gonna be happy (and neither will other racers AND the crowd, waiting for cleanup)! I promise :)

yes that is a rule at any racetrack, anti freeze is a no no, just do not do it, if you run a daily driver, take the time to drain it and put water in it, unless you race in freezing temps? it really can ruin the day for a lot of people

The editing is so frustrating, it's like a 45 minute trailer constantly cutting away from the moment with no continuity....had to turn it off.

Why does that 8k filled napa box, look exactly like my at home garage, 2k filled craftsman box. Drawer config in my personal craftsman box allows for 3.4 cubic feet than this box, and top and bottom were less than 1200.

Ennis doesn’t have that as a “rule” though. Kind of go on the lines of, if you drove it there, coolants ok, if it’s trailered, try and use water. But I heard somewhere NHRA is ok with coolant now in the stocker class? Not to sure on that one

That was ridiculous how many wins were coming in that right lane! They should have had another heads up where they swap lanes to rule out a lane advantage. Maybe the right starting line had just a bit more stickiness.

Today I learned I love drag racing, if there's a good showman reminding me of the actual stakes and somebody showing the atmosphere at the track. Don't think i'd watch it from the grandstands, not personal enough.
The race organization should stipulate and enforce through inspections before the race, for the absence of antifreeze

Damn this show was really a bracket race show. Looking back now, it was absolutely dumn.
Bracket racing is what keeps tracks open for all those heads up cars. I love both, but there's never good car counts at heads up races compared to bracket races. Some of the biggest heads up events like No Prep Kings or Racewars might bring in about 150-230 cars, while some of the biggest bracket races can easily bring in 800 cars. Hell, I think one year the U.S. Nationals was able to bring in 1,000 racers.

Rich C will always be remembered for crashing his brother’s brand new GSXR 1K on television, then taking off his shirt (for whatever reason). Not sure exact early episode it was but it was sooo funny to see his brother tell him “be careful it’s fast Rich”. Rich doesn’t even make it 1/8 track before this classic moment. I don’t enjoy people getting hurt; but when your own family knows you’re not capable of riding down a track (to check a on track crash earlier) and rip the throttle WOT…..couldn’t happened to a more deserving guy.

The Cars are the Stars and the drivers come next and way down the list of attractions would be the hosts IMO. Ask them about their cars and edit down their answers. Bangin metal music is cool but not during the whole show.If they aren`t all LS powered it would be nice to see the engines too. I`m not ragging completely on the "celeb`s" but with your production costs you should get a little closer to 1320 views than you are right now.

I am not a mechanic but I can tell you that it is a pain and a half to get ALL the antifreeze out of the loop... And this is just me flushing my daily driver 96 Civic, not a race car.

Seriously 2yr ban for anti freeze sure I can see it being annoying to clean up but I would think maybe a 1-3month ban and a decent fine/clean up fee would be enough of a penalty.
