I must have heard this back in 2008 for the first time. 10th grade. Southern, American, country boy was introduced to dubstep by a classmate who somehow was into all kinds of beats and edm. We would skip school and graffiti spots, smoke up, and listen to this era dub. Good times!
@Super Sharp Shooter the bass just makes your body feel different then any other music don't it ? started listening in 09 but brostep but only a year later i discovered true dubstep and switched to listening real dubstep not brostep and attended my first festival in 2010 outlook festival probably the only event in croatia at the time with legends from bass music genres performing there and i been 10 years in a row since collected over 300 hundred records bought 2 turntables and have unforgettable memories and people and producers ,dj's i met over the years and the soundsystems just insane .
Dubstep is music for people who cannot tolerate what the mainstream is giving them. It always was that and is still that. Eventually, everyone will come to dubstep, running from the mess that is the mainstream. And it will still be here for them
well said, friend!! that is, quite literally, my journey through sound.. it all began with a dude named rusko.. in fact my first five was rusko, emalkay, caspa, cookie monsta (rip), and coki in that order.. i heard it and just couldnt get enough of it, wanted to know more of "what this is".. pity, that, around that time dubstep was moving the way of skrillex and that actually drove me AWAY from dubstep (bout 2009/2010ish) and it wasnt till so many years later..(i think about 2017) that i learned the name "skream" and it brought me right to the doorstep of what i understood to be "UK dubstep" 😆 ive not once regretted it since! what a ride. this stuff completely transformed my understanding of sound and im very grateful to have it
Remember this one at DMZ Leeds Iration Steppa soundsystem around 07 Cotti Clue b2b. Never seen a dance fill up so quick.....blessed to see it all first hand.
@MrNecryptic All acetate dubplate set. When Mala got on deck they had to stop and rewind because cement was falling on the deck from the roof. I think it was "city cycle" or "learn" that did it. 🤔
@MrNecryptic The Leeds DMZ nights were legendary mate. Every night had about 8 or so of the original dons, and it was mostly all transition dubplates. Hatcha v Youngsta, Mala v Coki V Loefah, Distance v Cyrus (Random Trio), D1, Pinch, Chef, Mark One, Benga, Skream, N-Type, Kode9, Neek and Kahn, Appleblim, Silkie and Quest, Jay5, Kromestar, Author, Jack Sparrow, Joker, Headhunter etc. Big up the organiser Simon Scott (DJ Exodus) every time. Everyone smashed it, and everyone had a jolly nice time. Which is how a dance/disco-tech/rave/brock out should be. 👍
@Pen Umbra Where is the best place to find this kind of dub ?. I listen to Hip Hop primarily but ever since a kid I remember my older brother listening to this kind of thing and UK garage and it kind of stuck. It gets a bit too much for me but there are some bangers out there ! ✌
Never forget this one!!

I had one of those friends at school. Into all sorts of awesome stuff, and I have no idea how he knew about it all. Good memories.

One of the best dub TRACKS out there.
this track changed the whole game for me, my perspective of music changed from this dub
Facts right there.
"from this dub"? Don't want to act like an educator, but this one still sounds more like dubstep then strictly DUB
Greetings ;)
@@dub2b3 im pretty sure he said dub as a diminutive of dubstep

Try out the channel called "duploc.com"
It's filled with dubstep tunes. New producers putting out the old school sound
