Her face lit up! Her real name is Sukimli and I practiced her name for days and weeks so that I could call her by her real name. She mentioned to me one day that I was the only one that took the time to do that and it made her feel seen and valued. KaiKoa may not mention anything but it is the part of his identity and his culture. A simple google search will tell you that his name actually means Sea Warrior. I love you Jess but I suggest you don’t change his name.

Former teacher hack and why we laminate most things and then use sharpie markers to write things on whatever we are doing/using. I have also used baby wipes and Clorox wipes to remove permanent marker from items including tables, chairs, walls and other hard surfaces. Hope this helps you.

Best thing to get sharpie off your table is hand sanitizer or nail varnish remover only a small amount on some cotton wool or what ever you use in the US..

Life hack: To get Sharpie marker off a table, put alcohol-based santitiser on the marker, get a cloth & rub in a circular motion. It's so easy.
13:42 PRO TIP- you can use white board marker to remove sharpie marks from just about anywhere! Just color over it and wipe off or clean with cleaner!
