Hey for anyone interested I Found a really good book talking about the lockheed electra on amazon, it goes into detail about the early development of the plane and the design of it. amzn.to/3DfKqqD
To all interested, This is Lockheed Electra 10-A, same as Amelia Earhart used for round a globe journey and got lost in Pacific back in 1937. This very piece was purchassed April 16, 1937 by Mr. Jan Antonin Bata, that time owner of BATA shoes manufacturing chain, who made that year global marketing with this aircraft selling/offering his shoes nd buying leathers and natural rubber for shoes manufactureing. Unlike Amelia, he crossed both Atlantic and Pacific oceans by means of shipping the aircraft. This a/c was restored and brought to flying conditions courtessy of Aviation Museum Tocna- near Prague/ Czech Republic, where it can be seen.
To all interested; Amelia Earhart's aircraft was actually a Lockheed 10-E Electra (Pratt & Whitney 600 hp engines), and not a Lockheed 10-A (Pratt & Whitney 450 hp engines)
To all interested, Hard to tell the difference from this angle but this is a Lockheed Electra 12 ( Electra Junior). Slightly smaller than the Model 10 but different landing gear ( wheel supported on one side vs. both sides on the Model 10) and different cockpit window arrangement (2 per side on the 12 series and 3 per side on the 10 series) Still a beautiful airplane, shame they built so few.
Good catch, Herb Boethel. Back in the latter part of the 1970's there was a Lockheed 10-E Electra jump plane (c/n 1042) based at our DZ in Raeford, NC. It was featured on the cover of Skies Call 2, and also in the pages within. That very same aircraft is now restored (by Grace McGuire), and is now based in Atchison KS, patiently awaiting a hangar/museum/learning center to be constructed on the Atchison airport property.
Personally, I absolutely hate this effect. I much prefer when the older video cameras were properly blurring the propellers, exactly as we see them with our own eyes.
hello Aviation Life, I'm admin of the modelkitindo channel, I ask permission to hanging this video on my channel as a teaser, and I will enclose your channel name on the video and link in description ... thank you

without a doubt the best looking [and sounding] aircraft ever made
It's just so nice to see these classic aircraft alive and well. I have a lot of respect and appreciation for the people that make this happen. Cheers!

@@holbrookgd That is correct.👍
Great sound. Awesome video thank you
Enjoying the goofy look of interaction between propellor speed and video frame rate.

Definitely no more mosquitoes at startup!!
I love the smell of avgas in the the morning.
Very nice ,but didn't it some adjusting ?
If Amelia Earhart's plane ran like that she would never have made it out of the US!
That was a military C-45 wasn't it? P&W 985 engines?
No, that would be a Beech 18
That is a Lockheed 12 Electra.
10 or 12?

Hey Guys would a third prop blade made any difference?
Just depends what you’re trying to achieve each prop combination performs differently
Burnin' too much oil!
450 hp each. if that was o volkswagen, it would break the speed of light.
If you have the money for an LE, then you should have the money to stand test and dyno before putting them on the plane. Nice ride though.
Plane from madagascar 2
I always thought that it was a mcdonnell douglas dc3
Bruh you know
probably the bigger sister the Lockheed Lodestar
🇺🇲 👍
