The practical use videos are what I like. Sitting in the studio videos are nothing more than sales generating marketing video for a product, and plenty of people already cover that method. Be the advocate for folks who already have gear but want to tips and tricks, we're not pros. I like how I can read the part numbers on your products, tripods, backpack, etc. Its seems unnecessary, but even showing your kit on a scale before you head out for a vlog would help us understand what all "this stuff" really weighs on the back/shoulders/waist. Thanks.
Thanks for all the tips mate. Brilliant work. Much appreciated for your practical tips. Happy clicking away. Am the best
I just got my a7iv yesterday and gues what, I m watching your video. Helped me a lot. Thanks so much. Love from Goa India. 🙏😊
It would seem that such a simple thing as button customization should not cause problems, but then I bought my first camera and for several months I could not figure it out ...
Great video I am very grateful
Love the sense of calmness
i am in love with ur photographer vlogs, their givinh me the most chill on youtube, while learning so much. please keep going
Many great tips and examples
Always big fan of your work ❤️🔥
Olle i just wanted to thank you fore transmit your passion in your video, i wanted a 200-600 just for horses photography but watching your videos gave me the idea of Wildlife photography and know i'm enjoying a new world that i didn't know i would love that much, greetings from argentina!!
This is very helpful, Olle! Gud va bra! I would really love an in depth review of the tools from Topaz. I had the 200-600 last winter for a couple of months before I switch to the 70-200 because I could not justify it. Right after selling it, I noticed your channel and got more interested in wildlife and bird photography. So I just ordered the 200-600 again.
I struggled a bit with the in-camera settings for this beast, but after watching your videos I just could not resist anymore. And with the Sony summer campain it was really "cheap". Haha.
Thanks!
That’s super awesome man. Glad you got more interest in wildlife photography 🦅
The 200-600 is a beast of a lens
Perfekt lagom till när nya kameran anlänt och laddas upp inför första användningen! :)
I’m still learning to use my Sony A7iv for wildlife photography so this was a very useful video and I’ve picked up some great tips. Thank you.
Also, I’m struggling to use the autofocus tracking features (with Sony 200-600mm lens), ending up with blurry pics and missing the moment so a video on how use it would be much appreciated. Thank you.
Great video. I'll have to try and adopt some of these settings but I'll be limited with my a6400. Tack så mycket
thank You very much for this video.
I never missed your video since I know you.
Very cool video, thanks!
Answer to your last question: I would like to see how you set up your camera for video and photos in specific situations, for example in your king fisher shoot. What settings do you use and why these settings, what shutter speed do you choose, do you turn lens stabilisation on or off? Etc Thanks!
Love you brother🖤
I like your videos very much
Satisfy ❣️
Can you do a video on your setup, how do you setup that phone on top of the camera and what do you use it for. Thanks :D
Kanon video! Ska bli riktigt gött med memory recall & att man kan ställa in olika inställningar automatiskt när man byter mellan video/photo när man får A7 IV:an sen 🔥
Kan du göra en video på hur använder photopea för att på foton att se bättre ut?
great video Ollie, this is what i need , learning these functions/settings, for my A7iv and 200-600, i tried to do some full moon pics last Friday with it and some turned out alright, the weight is too much for my hands with my carpal tunnel so i am going to buy a gimbal for my tripod similar to what you use and there is much more stability, just a good gear investment and the snow is finally melting here, I saw my first pair of Canada Geese this morning , so that is a good sign and we even had wild turkeys wandering around in the city last week in a park area and along the river, spring has sprung 👍
That’s nice!
A gimbla is definitely a great investment!
Yes spring is close, so excited!!
Been watching your videos all afternoon man. Love the channel! Excited to be getting my very first camera soon 🤘🏻🤝
Great video, its great to know more, its a great at camera for hybid shooters
Love your teaching ❤
Loving all of your videos! I noticed a change in pic profile in some videos....What do you prefer when sooting video? Thanks!
Great work Olle !
is there any way to set creative look to off at photo mode .. ?
i mean, you can set picture profile to off but at creative look you have to choose one mandatory???
Love your videos bro!
You should do videos of your editing process and workflow! Greetings from Oslo!
I love you video
Thank you for this Olle. :)
Very helpful. whats the screen on top of your camera for and how are you setting it up
Love your vids, would love to shoot with you once :)
Thank you!!!!
Nice! What's with your phone on top of your camera? Does it act as a monitor? How'd you do that?!
I use it to record the screen of the A7IV. I could use it as a monitor that way. But it wouldn’t really benefit since it’s quite a lot of cables and stuff to carry around haha!
I notice you are using what looks like the Sony Pro-i as a monitor. HOw is that working for you>? Can you do a video on that please? So far for me, it drains the phone like in 3 minutes from 65% to null, and I had one or two other issues I can't remember. Can you please do a video on using it because when it was working it was WAY better than the built in screen.
🔥🔥🔥
I just bought an A7IV and Sony 200-600 and that video really helped! For info, I just discovered that there is a shutter/silent mode in shooting menu. It removes also the sound of the shutter in addition to the focus.
The only setting I don’t get is to disable the focus in the shutter. Is it to save battery? What is the purpose? At the end, yes we can press the AF on button but is it not the same? ok when we are in manual focus, we have to maintain the AEL button otherwise the shutter refocus and overwrite. Is it for that?
Hoping to get this camera set up soon, does the phone connect straight to the camera to use as a monitor? Thank you.
No in-depth ? I HATE YOU !!! :D
Nah - like always super good video. Im getting the Sony 200-600 for my A7IV soon - after watching ur bird/nature videos. Just boring nature in Denmark though.
Love ur "chilling positive attitude" and humour. And the "filming" of your videos also always super cozy to watch. Keep up the good work 👌
As a wedding photographer I was curious of how a wildlife photographer set up his cameras, and I was surprised to see that I've set my A7iiis almost the same regarding the functions bindings. What are you using your phone on the hotshoe for, vlogging or as a bigger viewfinder maybe ? Great videos just discovered your channel it's awesome cuz straight to photography and no geeky gear BS 😉
Glad to hear that mate! Thank you!
I use the Xperia to record the lcd of the A7IV via the HDMI port.😃
@@ollenilssonen thanks for your quick answer. I'll be shooting jets so I'd love to be able to record video too with my phone so I'll look into how to achieve this Thx a lot
Hello sir what is the best settings for Sony A7iv for birding
Can you provide more information about the mount that's holding your phone on the camera?
I'm curious about this as well. If it was linked in the description, I must've missed it.
There was someone in the backround in the background at 3m
Hi sir..
I am from India , I want to know about this pair , this camera and also lens , for beginners
How te click there wildlife photo in master way
Please make a video for me
Please 🙏🏻
Hey,
nice and very helpful video! I just have one question: How did you set the memory recalls in video mode? I couldn't figure out how to set them yet...
Greetings ☺️
When shooting outdoor, wouldn't make NTSC instead of PAL more sense?
==> HD120 instead of HD100
nice tuto. i hesitate to use BBF with afon because people like Mark Galler say it becomes obsolete method with two buttons,... thumb occupied... but Pierre Lambert, ... use BBF and can easily stop pressing afon and be in "af-s" mode and recompose. I tried to set, like video, AFON on AF/MF toggle while keeping half press shutter to focus for af-c and frankly, i don't understand the difference between AFON BBF and half shutter+AF/MF for any situation architecture, football,... Can you explain ? also explain why having AFON BBF you added a MF/AF on AEL (also why hold instead of toggle giving you time to take picture) ?
Hi, thanks for a great intro video for wildlife photography. My son suggested connecting my iPhone 13 to my A7iv but NOT using the hot shoe as you have done. He said keep the hot shoe for microphone or flash. He said you can get an arm that will connect under the camera in the tripod screw and then II should be able to view the images from the camera on my iPhone. Do you know of such a bracket please?
Hey Olle, my a7 iv just arrived today and I had so much fun trying out all the functions. I have one question about your iso settings. How can I change the iso directly with the wheel without going into the iso menu? For me it was one of the best settings of your video but you did not explain how to set it up like that :D But I take it as a an opportunity to say thank you for all your videos. I really enjoy your content. Greetings from Hamburg! :)
Hey!
That’s awesome mate!
Hmm let me see.
Go into Custom key/dial set-> scroll down to ”Dial/Wheel -> set number 4 to ISO.
Should be it!😃
Thanks for the words, Appreciate it!!
Recently i purchased sony a7r4 but there is no bird eye auto focus setting
Have you ever had rolling shutter issues whilst panning with birds in flight and taking pictures
Michael myers was behind you @ 2:42
Hlo, i have a doubt .......... Will the Lens (MERISHOPP 420-800Mm F/8.3-16 Manual Telephoto Zoom Lens + T2-Nex Lens Adapter for Sony Cameras ) fit on Sony A7 4?
I would really like to see a video of you talking a bit about the life of a professional wild life photographer. I mean, I'm sure you take a lot of nice photos etc., just like many other do, but how and from whom do you actually get paid for this? Magazines, TV, etc.?
I live in Sweden myself, so sure I know of "Mitt i naturen" and perhaps a few documentaries that are Sweden-produced, and maybe there are a few magazines. No critique against you, I'm just curious, but I just don't see a viable path to make a living of this? Would be really interesting to hear your and other pros thoughts on this.
The thing is that I don’t see myself as a professional wildlife photographer. I do this full time, but my main income
comes from UA-cam and paid Partnerships with brands.
So I guess my title would be in the lines of ”content creator” more than Wildlife Photographer. Haha!
I do however get paid when selling prints of my work and I know other pro wildlife photographers that sell their work to nature documentaries and so on!
So to sum it up, I guess I make a living of making content around wildlife photography, more than wildlife photography being my main living!😃
@@ollenilssonen Ah, OK, thanks for quick answer and info! :)
I guess that's how it is for many photographers today, unless they directly work for someone or something, like modelling. I still think it could make for an interesting video topic to discuss what to do with your photos or videos, in case you want to take it further than just a personal album, and thus perhaps at least get some of your (most often) expensive investment back.
@@HugRunner that’s very true!
Might look into a video like that in the future!
God Jul!
Hi Olle, huge fan of your work! You have shot a long time with the A7iii, is the A7iv that much better? I've heard it performs quit poor in low light situaties and the autofocus on the eye isnt always as acurate as they claim. How does it pair with the sone 200-600. I have the A7iii and the sony 200-600mm tele zoomlens but i just dont if i should switch to the a7iv, it doesnt seem that much better, maybe its because post production these days is just crazy with all the software out there
2.38 bigfoot spotted!
0:41 was painful 🤏🏻
Hi, Olle, thenks for the great videos you share! Can you tell your opinion how good is A7IV AF speed for traking birds in flight compared with some DSLR if you have such expericense? For exapmle compared to NIkon D500 or similar.
Hello Olle. Just watched the video. But you do not say what the maximum iso you set the camera too in auto. do you have a limit set. Thanks.
Thanks Olle, very interesting. I'm coming from a Nikon DSLR using Nikon's "transfer" to download pics to computer. The software was on disc in the box. This is possibly a stupid question, but are discs still included with a new purchase, or easier to use Photoshop? The reason I ask is I like my pics downloaded in date/time/seconds [ 20220914 11-47-18 ]. I intend to collect a new a7iv tomorrow. Thanks for informative videos, regards Alan Wilson.
What are you filming this video with right now? what kind of camera? what are you taking pictures of, I understand
Hi, can you tell me what video picture profile you use . Thanks.
I wish the A7ii had quiet mode
Silent shutter: whould be convenient in almost every situation, but with the A7IV, we have to take the rolling shutter into account.
Do you ever use it?
Yes it would. I use it in some situations when i really need to. But doing panning shots or handheld often gets the rolling shutter problem
Due you using mechanical or electronic shutter?
I have the A7IV 200-600 combo since yesterday but have so many out of focus shots even at 1/3200 of 1/5000. I've done some tripod tests with oss off and self timer and even then most are out of focus. There are alot of poeple with the same issue if you look it up. Have you had any problems?
Do you use auto or manual ISO when shooting birds/other animals ?
Are you using your cell phone for viewing and if do how do you set that up? I have a new Samsung S22
Cell phone I had to stop and pause a few times it just would be nice if we were treated like dummies just a little bit.
ey bro, do you have experience with Luminar AI? if yes, tell something about editing and platforms..
Curious, how come you don’t shoot in 10 bit when you go 100FPS. GReat video, thanks!
For what I know, it’s only possible to shoot 10bit in S&Q without Audio. And I sometimes footage with audio in full speed for my socials. And tbh, I haven’t really tried to work with S&Q in my daily workflow yet. I’ll definitely try it out more! Thanks!
@@ollenilssonen correct. I throw it on one of my dials on s&q and then it’s a quick turn to get there.
Do you use nd filter for the video? If so can you recommend one for 200-600mm?
I use it for the lenses >77mm. The 200-600 is too large for a affordable nd😂
the Sigma 500 f4 has a 57mm (or something like that) insert closer to the body though. Really smart.
Ollie only comment is slow down for us novices when trying to show us how to go from one mode to the next. I'm old and slow I had to start and stop the video to many times to set the camera up.
I’m sorry you feel that way!
Good thing you can stop and rewind though!👍🏼
Ollie I'm just fine I feel fine I was just making a point that when you present the video it was just a little fast for this old 1/2 Sweedish goat my mom was Swedish. By the way I only wish I could present things the way you do. I was a US Navy Photographer back when film was king 1971 to 1975. I did shoot a little film in the form of 16mm Bell and Howell the type we used in the Navy. I started taking pictures with a Brownie and my 1st real Camera was a Canon FT I bought with money I earned delivering the News Papers in 1965 and then took photos of my High School days. Keep up the great work I now have the A7iv and also the A7riv. I sold my A9 so I could buy the A7iv.
ja jag är en vän och tack för den vackra videon
Fel märke men ändå intressant se hur andra ställer in sina funktioner på kameran 👍
What's with the phone mounted in the flash foot? Is that for watching porn?
Anyone else peep his zipper down?
.
Great video Olle! If possible, I would love to watch a real-time bird autofocus demo of the a7IV and the different techniques you use on the moment to nail those great pictures!
Agree!! Would LOVE this ❤
