Hot damn!.Kudos whanau...the effort you put into practice shows. You did both Waiata and Haka justice. The girls shocked me when they went to the front and did the Haka and stole the show LOL
There's a guy named Mr. Hantler, if you haven't seen him yet, who has the guitar chords and lyrics, just YT search 'E Karanga Te Iwi E, guitar' and he should pop up. Thumbnail has a red background with the song name and so in white.
love this song sadly i dont speak Maori can any body please give me the words in English and any back story behind the song with what i presume is the following haka
Our tribe is calling to the people who have just set foot on this marae Bring with you memories of all the dead and so many tears spilling forth nation-wide. Look at our people working across the land Spread out far and wide Shaking is the ground, quivering is the sea. Oh, the love and the pain within me. The ground shakes and quivers, yeah! Waiata background; echoes the women's karanga. It draws everyone together through a shared memory of loved ones who have been lost from the land, both by war and migration. While showing grief, the singers also express earth-shaking pride in the achievements of those who went away to the war, and later, those who have found a new way of life in the cities.
@Leo 888 Mahalo for the kind words. Everyone on this here is apart of Life360 Network, an at risk youth program here in Honolulu. We run the full pacific rainbow.
