Great battle report! I played this mission twice recently at a tournament as attacker. If the other player is stacking their forces on the objective by their deployment area, you could use a Scout unit to Spearhead towards the unprotected objective and deploy the bulk of your units around the scouts' extended deployment zones (staying 16" away from the objective). Then rush the objective and become the defender, holding off the other player until turn 6 since they'll be rolling for reserves and you won't. I did this and won once and the other time I ended up in a draw. Both times it became a blood bath because the other player is forced to push you off that objective so they will throw everything at you eventually. Just something to try. Keep up the great content!
Brilliant battle report. One of the best I’ve seen you do. Always enjoy seeing Sean on the channel as he’s a great tactical player rather than line up and charge 40K style. Dropped the Patreon for a while as there was too much Eastern Front in it for me which has zero appeal (though I appreciate others do). Always happy to support channels if they are providing content I want to see. Will give it another try.
Just re-watched this. Bit confused over two things. In the last turn Jon moved a Panther up to almost touching a Carrier. IIRC you cannot move within 2” of an enemy tank team in the movement step. I couldn’t fathom where the comments about only needing to come within 8” of an objective come from given you hold an objective only if you start your turn within 4” of an objective and end it with no enemy units within 4” of it. I totally forgot the Repelled Attack criteria. So if the attacker is not holding an objective BUT has a team within 8” of an objective I guess it’s a draw?
The 8 inches was part of the victory conditions for the defender. The Brits would win starting at turn 6 if no Germans were within 8 inches of an objective, so the Germans had to push something within that range to avoid instantly losing at the start of British turn 6.
I thought you can only shoot if you moved at tatctical speed, and chafees in the same turn went into the forest, so terrained dashed. How were they able to shoot? Happned around 19:00 mark
There is nothing that prevents you from moving tactical speed into area terrain like a wood. Dashing, terrain and cross county, trade shooting for additional move distance.
All the Germans tanks were wasted either engaging in useless fights they could not win or NOT engaged in fights they should have won. Terrible play from the German player 😆 Enjoyable video nevertheless, probably some of the best FoW reports on UA-cam.
And a good gane too tough up hill battle for the Germans. Germans wouldn't have had a turn 6 as the gane would have ended on defenders turn 6 making the mission that bit harder for the attackers
Just see the comments and someone else cought the turn 6 thing. Also biggest problem for the Germans was rolling those 7s early on. Those dice were spent after that 😂
Great to see some FoW back on the channel! Great game guys!
Thanks!
Thanks Jon and Sean. A very enjoyable game again. Best wishes. Alan
Thanks!

Thanks for the game folks. Tough one for the Germans. The dice just didn't let them get any traction.

With moustache like that, there was never an option for Sean but to play Brits :D
Love your batreps as always. Thank you.
Good battle, nice to see some Comets on the table!
Cool battle report.
Thanks!

The 2" rule is only for infantry vs infantry or infantry vs tanks. Tanks vs tanks has no minimum distance.
the two comments explained this better then I could. Thanks all.
