I feel like they took so many monsters and made them much more interesting fights for Rise, I do think ol Zinogre needs to charge up just a bit faster though. Now we will just have to cross our fingers and hope they can do the same for Barioth and Tigrex lol
Ah fellow SnS runner btw have you tried placing small barrel bombs to trigger the counter boost on the shyurikenji move? I feel like his charging up should be more than enough of an opening for pulling that off. I've been meddling with ways to use bombs into hunts more due to how I made my set to have bombardier in it. So far I've tried pitfall and bomb combo with the silkbind followup and it is doing KO's when they're in the trap extending the time they stay immobalised and letting me deal more damage and shit might help you get better timings.
I've seen it but wasn't sure what to think about it. It looks extremely weird or rather disruptive to set up, so I haven't played around with it yet :)
@@Dr_Philliam Ah fair enough I haven't done my testings besides figuring out ways to do stuff like this in the training area and the single run I did on narga, it looks like it could be helpful in the case of zino since his head stays too high during Charing state for us SnS users to reach I thought we'd have time to place one barrel and do the counter for a possible KO if we are close enough.

SnS noob so genuine question, is there a specific reason to go for the Shield Combo instead of the Drill Combo switch skill in Rise? Seems like you get more dmg out of the Drill combo and can still KO with Falling Shield Bash Combos too, so am I missing something or is it just personal preference?
Slugger is a lvl 2 deco and I'd swap it out for either Attack Boost or Crit eye. Stamina Thief is just there because Melee weapons have trouble utilising the lvl 1 slots, but I'll swap to bombardier decos now as there's a neat shoryuken tech that you might see in the next run :P :)

Drill Slash has more damage, even with raw. It's just the KOs and sharpness management why I choose shield bash. It's likely that, once things start to get more optimised, we'll see optimal usage of drill slash. :)

This might be a noob question, but how do you get this outfit? This doesn't seem to fit the armor you wear and I couldn't find this in my character outfits personnalisation when I hide armor parts. Thanks for the vid anyway!
Gotta try out this build sometime. Nargacuga weapons are really awesome due to typically getting to white sharpness easily, and having a high affinity to make up for a low raw damage. What gems you using?

Do you recommend going after elemental builds with SnS in Rise? I am still in village running with Narga SnS, awesome weapon, but I miss an element that I used as a bow main....

I used water SnS to take down Magnamalo, and it worked pretty well, but I am sure it was not optimal damage for sure. I will stick with Narga SnS and then upgrade in HR when I get there. It is a deadly weapon for sure. :-)
@@TheClaudykun I've elaborated in many different comments, apologies I haven't gotten to you yet. Drill Slash is stronger if we were to look at the big picture regardless of skill cost due to working well with Ele SnS that also have high raw. It also deals more pure raw damage than the shield combo, but eats a ton of sharpness and doesn't provide nearly as much KO damage, which is why CURRENTLY in most match ups we prefer the Shield Bash.

It kept eating up sharpness so quickly that I ended up switching back to using the Hard Bash Combo instead. I’m sticking with the new Sliding Slash switch skill though, it’s great. Keep up the good work Dr. Phil! Watching your utter mastery of the SnS heals my soul, clears my skin, and waters my crops.
What I learned from this speedrun is to steer the controller to the right for the Spinning Reaper to reach higher hitbox (in this case, Zinogre's head). Good to know!

Easy sharpness management and a ton of KO damage on top of having somewhat similar damage output with raw builds :)

Wex is the most prioritised skill and afterwards a mix of Crit Boost and Attack Boost :P :)

Right now the Narga is stronger due to skills costing too much. Unless you have a godcharm that is.

The one thing i hate the most is when you want to know the equipment loadout, deco, rampage skill etc etc. They just simply brush off
Or you ask properly for them because the equipment show menu option is weird af compared to World and IB.
You have to time your Shoryugeki for a counter not just spam it when you feel like it.
