She murders her own songs by adding a lot to the originals..originals which most fans want to hear and feel..watching this video, its seems she forgets she has an audience..why is her attention on her band and backups. .the mic can be removed from the stand right? Why doesn't she remove it . I am a big fan of the diva, I may just be craving for authentic renditions by her on the albums.. again just my thoughts.
You're either a new fan, have never seen her live in concert, or you don't understand her as an artist. What we love about Anita is her spontaneity. She never sings a song the same way twice. She moves by her spirit. That comes from her Jazz and gospel background. She is in constant connection with her background and the band because it's all about everything that's going on onstage. She's not a cardboard cutout performing with a instrumental track. Everyone on stage is in concert, and they work together. As far as the microphone stand goes, some songs and some moments require her to use it, and others don't. Her show is not staged or choreographed. It's real and impromptu. It's been that way for over 35 years, and we love it. This was an amazing concert, from beginning to end.
