      i never been good at math. it has to be thoroughly explained to me. Is this type of math used for locating people, place, or things on maps and graphs? is it also something that is used out in the ocean- same as longitude and i forget what u call d other thing i have a headache, anyway, is that the purpose of calculus of the circle thing? im mot studying any kind of math im just curious and asking u bcus u are way smarter than me bar far 😊🙂

      its been a year, but I'll write down the answer for anyone else who has the same question. The radius is just the distance between the center of the circle and any point on the edge. So by counting the units from the center point out to the edge, he has the length of the radius. I hope this clears it up for someone!

      I dont think the "equation of a circle" formula actually enables you to plot a complete circle, thats probably something in trigonometry. i think here its just a way of describing the circle in terms of coordinate geometry, after you know the points you can just plot the circle yourself

    one thing I don't understand if someone can help me out, what is the equation of the circle, what I mean is (x-h)^2 + (y-k)^2 = r^2, so what does this r^2 represent in the circle i.e. if r^2 = 9 what in this circle will be 9, what is the equation? what is represented with r^2? (you understand what I'm asking?)

    • @YouAreParadoxical
      @YouAreParadoxical 3 місяці тому +1

      In the equation of a circle (x-h)^2 + (y-k)^2 = r^2, 𝑟^2 represents the square of the radius. So if 𝑟^2 = 9, it means that the radius of the circle squared is 9. To find the actual radius, you take the square root of 𝑟^2 which gives you √9 = 3.
      So r = 3.
      So the equation would be (x-h)^2 + (y-k)^2 = 9, where (h, k) is the vertex point the radius would be 3.
