Hello there, pardon my ignorance but i'm just wondering why do you not use like a chrome paint to get a real reflective metal instead of doing so many layers of paint. The way you do it, will get a permanent light reflection effect from one angle. Why not paint a reflective coating so you would get a real reflexion ?
Very valid question! This is called NMM technique, non metallic metal. We try to simulate certain metallic surfaces without the usage of metal pigmented paints. Metallic paints dont offer that much freedom in creativity due they reflect the light naturally. This NMM technique is for idiots like me, who try hard to freeze a light situation within the enviroment on the model, very similar to old oil paintings without metal pigments.
is your insta blocked for drug referencing or something? when I follow the link from the patreon it says the account doesn't exist while if I try to type it in I get a message to seek help for drug abuse, lol
Lol yeah, I had problems with Instagram name years ago, therefore changed it to my real name, apparently the link doesn't changed automatically. Thanks for pointing out. Try here instagram.com/tamer.widerspan I'll change the channels name as well in future. Cheers

Also, most fantasy models like this offer the chance to do creative NMM while historical models work best with true metallics.
Thank you for sharing my friend! Awesome work as always. Very inspirational! ❤️😊

No matter how much I think I know, it's always wonderful to learn from others.. thankyou

It's beautiful! Very convinsing way to represent indoor enviroment, where is no blue sky and green grass or trees to reflect.
