- This run is ridiculous, right behind my best pace and I first try endurance.
I have since beaten this run many times, here is the current wr run of 26:13: • mbu 26:13.060 (I am attempting to push for a sub 26, you can check those attempts out at twitch.tv/m2kmarbles)
Technical info:
1. This was not run on emulator, rather on OpenMBU, an openly available 1:1 replica of the original xbox game available for pc with controller support. If youd like to revisit your late 2000s nostalgia, heres a link to the DL site: openmbu.com/
2. The game is run with loads removed to compensate for different platform loading times.

This might be dumb question lol, but do the in-game leaderboards still work on this game? I get that you aren't going for the actual time per level, but last time I played this game I remember having all top 1,000 and I think I had a top 100 or 50 on skyscraper.
I never played this game beating all levels in a full run like this, which was way beyond my skill. However, there are some levels where you can shave off some time with different routes. @@m2kball
no idea, im playing on a reverse engineered replica of the game, leaderboards have been in developement for awhile but it works the exact same as the old game

This game randomly came into my head and I looked everywhere to see if there was a playable pc version. Not only did this video give me that, but the amount of nostalgia I was hit with hearing the sound effects play in the background was immeasureable
I still have the original version installed on my Xbox 360! It's the full version, too, I was lucky and got it a few weeks before it was delisted. Recently got 100% achievements. Can't wait to fall asleep watching this.

This game was such a hit when I was 5 😭 I had an Xbox 360 and this game was my favorite among Xbox games offline. After reading comments that this game is incredibly hard to find or mere impossible that I thank the people who copied mostly or prob everything from the game to make it the same as it was on the Xbox 360. Is there a WR Catagory for controllers for this game? Or just all together??
yeah this game was a throwback for sure, its the reason i hopped back into marbles so quickly when i heard there was still a community around it. the speedrun leaderboards have separate categories for modded and unmodded but im not sure how to setup unmodded on openmbu, the discord is your best bet to ask around

just downloaded this on my steam deck, loving getting back into it. I used to try and speedrun a bit way back in the day, remind me what the diagonal take off does for speed at the beginning of a level?
not just at the beginning, it adds 40% movement speed in general on a keyboard or modded controller

@@m2kball both, it was mostly marble blast gold, but if you were good in class, you were allowed to play it on the xbox, there was just 3 xboxes in our tech class

Did they fix the thing were you could sand or like increase the deadzones in your controller to make the marble go faster? lmao I remember a friend that did that and he wasn't even that good
on kbm holding 2 inputs has the same effect, like in marble blast gold, i believe in this remake they let you change controller deadzone settings to achieve the same effect for balancing
@@m2kball that's good to know, thanks homie! also wondering if you recommend marbleblast or is openmbu the only safe way to play it? I kinda wanted to try out custom levels in marbleblast's launcher or w.e
depends, if you want to replay the xbox version use openmbu, otherwise marbleblast/pq will have different physics and feel but you can still play those levels and more
I played this game as a kid and it was super fun. I want to play it again But apparently they don't sell it anymore or something cuz i can't get it anywhere

you just ruined the game by playing it on PC it’s designed to be played with a console remote and the lag it’s all designed into the game and when you adjust that you just ruin the game so yeah you can make a crazy speed run but I also challenge you to challenge Andrew West of Deer Park Washington,
