Every time John Denver would come on with The Muppets, my mom and I watched. We were both big fans. She passed away in 2002, but every year during the month of July I listen to his music. Rest In Peace, John and mom. I miss you very much.
I miss John and the muppets. The muppets was a great show and my whole family watched it every week. We need more shows like this instead of the sex and violence that we are forced to see today. Move over duck dynasty and swamp murders so we can go back to a show that was amusing and filled with music.
You're not "forced" to see anything. In fact, considering the literal THOUSANDS of television options we have today, you have far more options then we did when this aired. You don't have to watch anything you don't want to.
SOOOO good!! The Muppets had this incredible ability to make you laugh out loud regularly, something many sitcoms could not do on a consistent basis, and in a heartbeat touch you so deeply as to bring you to tears. What amazing talent those people had! I'm just blown away by the Nativity depiction, what a very different time that was. I'm not sure why they depict Joseph as a very old man, but other than that, incredibly heartwarming. This was everything you could ask for in a Christmas special, it's a mystery to me why it didn't have more staying power like some of the other classics. I think it ran about five or six Christmases on network TV, then disappeared.
I have been looking for this wonderful timeless show for a long time. I never thought til today to look on UA-cam. Thank you SO MUCH ! Also for posting the whole sprcial ! My family and I look forward to watching it ! When I think of John, I think of peace !
Thank-you so VERY MUCH for adding the whole Christmas special to your videos!! I haven't seen it since I was a little girl and watching it has made my whole decade! No, decadeS!!
The Nativity was definitely an example of the direction Jim Henson would go later in his career with the Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, and my favorite the Story Teller Series.

The album has always been a tradition here! They are some pretty impressive looking Nativity muppets!
How amazing it is to tell about the birth of Jesus/God through puppetry!

The cow and donkey puppets from this special later made a brief cameo in a Drummer Boy scene of "It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie".
Beautiful!
