You are wrong. As per retired Russian Generals and military analysts, the Kursk border was one weakest. It did not have a second line of defense and there was no artillery support for the border posts. As it was not the front line the posts were manned by conscripts who were rotated every 6 months. The AFU did not basically stop at most of the villages to be precise settlements which were already empty or nearly empty. They just rumbled on. Their main aim was to capture Kursk NPP which is around 60 kms away from the border. The AFU incursion bogged down on the 35th km. Now the AFU are digging in to at least hold some pockets till the US elections. As the Ukr experts state that " it was a short time effect" or a " short victory " and not a success. The main aim was to have an " ace" in the forthcoming negotiations.
Lesson for the Russian AF: Always imagine the unimaginable. I think it must be embarrassing for Russia that they cannot kick out the troops of a country that is supposed to having lost the war.
The operation wasn't completely crazy; it was irrationally rational. We know Ukraine's (or Zelensky's) stated goals seem impossible, fantastical and crazy (beating Russia back to 1991 borders by retaking Donbass and Crimea, defeating Russia, deposing and trying Putin, forcing Russia to pay war reparations, etc), however the real objectives are different. In reality, Ukraine is not fighting to achieve the above goals; in reality, Ukrainians do not fight to win, they fight for glory. Listen to what they are saying: "Slava Ukraini Geroyam Slava"; - Ukrainian heroes fight for Glory "Nobody will break us. We are Ukrainians!" - while trying to maintain their core-belief, their self-image that they are unbreakable Ukrainian heroes (who, as Lindsay Graham stated, will fight "to the last Ukrainian" - which supposedly was best thing ever Americans spent their money on according to him) In addition Zelensky often refers to his soldiers as "warriors". And now everything makes the irrational sense: The Ukrainian heroes live in the irrational realm where what matters is glory, heroism, doing what they want and how they feel like in their heroic spirit (no concessions, it's everything or nothing, their way or the highway), revenge, fighting, resisting, attacking, raiding, bragging, taking captives, blowing their own trumpet. In that sense they are winning because they are living their heroic dream. It's not really to achieve any rational, long term, strategic objectives . It's here and now, short term, irrationally rational: it's for glory - ("Slava Ukraini Geroyam Slava")

Here in DK the news media have become somewhat balanced recently, compared with how unbalanced their reporting has been for the last two years. They are still highlighting Ukrainian progress, and underplaying Russian successes, but in contrast to just a half year ago, we actually get reports on Russian successes now. During the Ukrainian "counter offensive" last year we heard a lot of Ukrainian victories, but when the offensive bogged down, they just stopped writing about it. This time around they even bring analyses from military "experts" criticizing the incursion into Russia, which was totally unheard of in the Danish media landscape until now. I take this as a sign that Danish state affiliated reporters have realized that they have lost the media war. Cheers from Denmark!
Hej meddansker :) Jeg har helt opgivet dansk presse og TV. Har ikke lyttet til/set/læst nyheder eller debatter eller whatever i 10+ år. As a Dane, I agree. It was cringeworthy to witness the cope last year from the media and "experts". Here i am especially thinking about Anders Puch. He got almost everything wrong and the media were never critical about anything. It is pure lunacy. Now, both media and funnily enough also Anders puch, which the media always rely upon, and which the NAFO guys also rely upon, has been sceptical about the kursk offensive. Is reality finally asserting itself or is this a one off fluke
Here in Sweden, it's similar. They at least mention Russian taking over Avdeevka and problems in Ukraine's shortages. Last year, they just went silent once Bakhmut fell.
Here in the UK the little I have seen/heard of the BBC has Ukraine doing great stuff in Kursk. So far from reality I wonder how they plan to walk their idiot viewers/listeners back to reality once the inevitable happens rather soon. Maybe the media types get briefed, given assinine talking points and just believe it all themselves without examining the message
Once again it isn't about tactics or military victories - it is about Ukrainian instagram victories and global headlines . Pyrrhic victories once again that cost REAL lives .
I hope the frontline will reach Kramatorsk and Slovjansk before the US elections. Slovjansk has been pointed out a couple of times as "Tipping-Point Town" - if Ukr loses that one, then there would be very few firm defence lines to fall back on east of the Dniepr river. It would be a point where at least most of NATO in Europe would have to rethink: why are we really throwing masses of armament and shells to Ukraine and saying they'll be able to retake the East, when that is clearly not a viable option anymore?
@@louise_rose I really hope not and that wisdom shall prevail upon the Ukrainians and they shall negotiate for peace. Enough blood on both sides has been spilled, enough men have been killed.

I think Putin doesn't want this. As long as there are very hard nationalists and Russophobic minds in some areas, you would always have unrest and maybe terrorist attacks or sabotage acts against the government, but never real peace and a prosperous future. .
What will Ukrainians do when the Russians start pushing back? • I mean it’s just a matter of time before Russian reinforcement and firepower reduce Ukraine’s forces to an unsustainable amount. • What forces will Ukraine use to hold back Russian forces when they start pushing south beyond the Russian border? • Ukraine can no longer use the negotiation card. • What forces will Ukraine use to slow down Russian forces on the eastern front? • Ukraine is out of cards, manpower and material.
The border guard’s instructions are too offer minimal resistance, surrender if necessary and alert the proper authorities of the situation. Only Ukraine is foolish enough to fight battles they can not win.
The Russians said, that they intercepted calls of the "ukraine" soldiers in Kursk. Many of them spoke Polish, French and english. They also spotted black colored soldiers, which certainly are not from Ukraine either.
Who supports him with billions? Zelensky is a nobody, look for the real perps in the white house, the duopoly of maga and libtards who both claim its Russia doing all this for no good reason. Do Americans think anybody will care what they voted for when their time is up?
the reality is that the na ziukra are not advancing but wandering around ,they had found out that the russians did not had trenches or fix strongholds that they can occupy and from where they can defend themselfes ,so the na ziukra have to move ,and the russians have the monopoly of the airspace and the Wagners and Checens that are guerrilla specialists
…The Ukranians got inside Russia, the Question is ,if ever they get out, of course asumming they still alive?? Otherwise they should look at the German Vl Army under Friedrich Paulus at the end of 1942-1943..🫵🏼💀🇷🇺
The last battle of Kursk involved 770,000 German troops and 2400 tanks, support aircraft and everything else. The Ukrainians entered with 12,000 men a handful of tanks and no air support. Of course you do not need to be a genius to know what the end result will be. Now ask yourself another question. How many languages are used by Ukrainian “command and control”? How many various different types of military arms? The Russians have one language and a common type of military command and control structure plus very effective home produced equipment. This is “Boy Scouts” versus “Professional Army”. The West is over run by mad men. Simple.
The battle of the bulge was supposed to buy the Germans time at the end of WW2. This incursion around Kursk failed to buy time or achieve any real objective as well. I wonder if this is their last big hurrah.
True folly of the Battle of the Bulge was, the Germans stripped their last reserves from where the REAL battle was being lost on the Eastern Front. The Soviet Union was pushing them inexorably back, they couldn't hold it there either, so the Fuhrer's big plan was to knock the Western allies back on their heels in the Ardennes offensive, send them running back westwards or if lucky maybe knock them out of the war, maybe get a stalemate, and allow breathing room to redeploy everything from the West to the East to hopefully hold the Soviets. All they did was denude the Eastern defenses and waste it all in a fruitless battle in the West, and when the Soviets started pushing westwards there was absolutely no hope of stopping them then... same thing now... and both times the tide will have inexorably and inevitably have turned for good at Kursk... History may not repeat but it certainly rhymes...
There's no question that Russia were not expecting it. It's an easy border and this action does not protect Kiev or the eastern towns. What is unclear is whether this is a joy ride/road trip through Russia or whether the forces are putting down measures to hold ground.
It appears they are building defences.. how could they plan to hold such a large territory with such a meager force is another question.. Speed was their shield. If they dig in they literally becomes fish in a barrel...
They're unable to build proper fortifications, but they will do what they always do...hide. They will hide in civilian property and forested areas, but eventually they will be cleared out.
What do you think of this opinion by Bulgarian analyst Boyan Chukov? "On the tenth day of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' incursion into Russian territory, several questions can be posed and some conclusions drawn. First, in the realm of global implications. What are the strategies of the USA, Britain, and NATO? Why was the attack necessary for Zelensky? What is Russia's game plan given Moscow's clear dependence on external factors in decision-making? Simply put, Russia remains a financial colony of the West. The Russian Central Bank is a creation of global financial institutions like the IMF, the World Bank, etc. The WHO is active in Russia, and no one imposes restrictions on it. Additionally, $500 billion of Russian elites' funds are deposited in Western banks. It's more than evident that there's an agreement between Moscow and Washington. This is why a 'strange war' has been waged in Ukraine for the past two and a half years. Putin stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces' entry was a 'provocation.' Provocation against what? In my opinion, it refers to a violation of the behind-the-scenes agreement between the Kremlin and the deep state. The 'agreement' could be as follows: the Americans do not allow the Ukrainian Armed Forces to penetrate deep into Russian territory, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces do not have permission from their American overseers to enter Russian territory. In return, the Russian Armed Forces do not destroy the railway infrastructure and do not touch strategic bridges on Ukrainian territory. Zelensky is not targeted, and no missile strikes are carried out on decision-making centers in Kyiv. Westerners can visit the Ukrainian capital without any issues. A single accurate missile strike on the servers servicing the banking network in Ukraine, and the country would be in complete financial collapse. But that hasn’t happened. Ukrainian television operates. There is electricity in Kyiv. Nightclubs and bars are operating at full capacity. After two and a half years of attacks on Ukraine's energy sector, although struggling, it continues to provide the daily necessary electricity to the population. Rumors circulated that Russian intelligence failed and did not detect the concentration of Ukrainian Armed Forces against the Kursk region. That is utter nonsense. Information that troops were amassing was reported long ago to the Russian Armed Forces General Staff. Two years ago, Yevgeny Prigozhin reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were preparing an attack against the Kursk, Belgorod, and Bryansk regions. Two months ago, the same was written by Russian bloggers and war correspondents. I assume that the Kremlin was confident that the Americans would honor the agreement. This, in my opinion, is also why the three mentioned regions were left without serious armed defense. Moreover, the Surovikin defensive lines must be complemented by a sufficient number of armed fighters, which were not present. Furthermore, the renowned Russian analyst Vladimir Lepekhine mentioned in a comment a day ago that during the construction of defensive lines in the Kursk region, possibly also in the Belgorod and Bryansk regions, corrupt officials from the Russian Ministry of Defense lined their pockets with an amount of 3 billion. Rubles, dollars, or euros... it wasn’t clear! The reason Americans claim they were unaware of the planned attack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Russian territory is that the agreement with the Russians was breached. Another 'red line' has been crossed. Putin was once again deceived. That's why he was furious a few days ago. Moreover, the Ukrainians stated that their Western overseers were aware of the planned attack on Russian territory. By shifting the entire responsibility onto Zelensky, the Americans are preparing to accuse him of being 'disobedient' and will replace him with a new 'uncompromised' president. For example, someone like Avakov or someone else. With the Ukrainian Armed Forces' attack on the Kursk region, Zelensky is struggling and wants to show that he can still be useful to his masters. He is fighting for his life. The attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region has definitively ended the 'peace party' in Russia, which consists mainly of Russian businessmen, also referred to as national traitors. And they are. The fifth column in power and activists in NGOs still live their lives in Russia. Migrants are oppressing the local Russian population. Most of the heads of Russian security structures are distracted but receive billions in their pockets from rampant corruption. I am presenting mostly facts, my hypotheses, and reflections. Nothing more."
To me this hole war is a terrible waste of human life! It will take decades if not centres for the Ukrainian people to recover! And to the same advantage to people who have set the fires of war all around the world for a hundred years and more!
So delightful to get an accurate analysis of the un-winnable war being fueled by the funding of Zelenski's supporters. You both do an incredible job of clearing out the weeds of propaganda in order to get to the facts. Far too many innocent lives lost unnecessarily. The eventual outcome will be a negotiated peace treaty. War is always a financial win for the Leaders but also a devastating human loss for society.

In reality, Ukraine is not fighting to achieve the above goals; in reality, Ukrainians do not fight to win, they fight for glory. Listen to what they are saying:
"Slava Ukraini Geroyam Slava"; - Ukrainian heroes fight for Glory
"Nobody will break us. We are Ukrainians!" - while trying to maintain their core-belief, their self-image that they are unbreakable Ukrainian heroes (who, as Lindsay Graham stated, will fight "to the last Ukrainian" - which supposedly was best thing ever Americans spent their money on according to him)
In addition Zelensky often refers to his soldiers as "warriors".
And now everything makes the irrational sense:
The Ukrainian heroes live in the irrational realm where what matters is glory, heroism, doing what they want and how they feel like in their heroic spirit (no concessions, it's everything or nothing, their way or the highway), revenge, fighting, resisting, attacking, raiding, bragging, taking captives, blowing their own trumpet.

Hej meddansker :)
Nothing positive in Finland, MSM and thus most people are in psychosis. Total fools.
Yep! They seek likes and shares.
The biggedt cheerleader was little lizzie Graham the little man that loves war.
Everyone's attention is on Kursk while the Russians are just 10 kms away from Pokrovsk.

@@shuathe2nd In 2022 the Russian forces were far away but the Donetsk Militia were in Gorlovka. AFU could not capture it since 2014. So in this context we can surely say the " Regular " Russian army was more than 140 kms away from Pokrovsk in 2022.
@@narharjoshi7150 Even taking your measure (which is incorrect, as we know russian soldiers were the little green men who helped the Donetsk Militia take that area) they have advanced 130Km in two years - hardly impressive, given Ukraine have taken half that distance in russia in 2 weeks.
Then NATO troops will step in, or Romania and Poland will be the next Ukraines!
Although America denies any knowledge of the Kursk offensive, the timing of the prisoner exchange says otherwise.
The border guard’s instructions are too offer minimal resistance, surrender if necessary and alert the proper authorities of the situation. Only Ukraine is foolish enough to fight battles they can not win.

Really, I think Russia knew, those missiles to take out those against the nuclear power plant, the most stupid of actions, didn't happen suddenly.
It appears they are building defences.. how could they plan to hold such a large territory with such a meager force is another question..
Speed was their shield.
If they dig in they literally becomes fish in a barrel...
