Love to all.
Hi JP. I was watching a previous video when you mentioned Richard Gulley and played his version of Limerock. Richard is my cousin who I see quite often and yes he is still the guitar player that he was when he won Winfield back in the 80's. That being said his prize for winning Winfield was actually a custom built Gallagher. He plays this guitar as he would have in Winfield and to this day is his go to !! He has many options of Martins and others but he loves his Gallagher. Thanks for your channel and all the advice you give to us all !! You are a incredible guitar player and makes me proud to be Canadian. Cheers Brother.
WOW! Beautiful! I've got an 80's Doc Watson, mahogany! Very sweet!
J.P. That is one gorgeous guitar, I can see why it was your dream guitar, I also am a big fan of
Doc Watson, Tony Rice and Dan Kominsky. It is a real jewel, I hope to see it some day, I"ve never
seen a Gallagher guitar, I would love to see all your guitars. That was a surprising story, goes
to show what a great person Robin is. That was a very cool story. Stay safe!
I have a Doc Watson Signature model Serial 3165 purchased directly from Don Gallagher in 2008. Its my Favorite guitar over my HD28 and D42! Its a custom guitar with a diamond fret marker at the third and also a flower pot inlay on the headstock. The original company was a distinct pleasure to deal with. Because there was no dealer in Canada he said to me to find the lowest price I could from any US dealer and he would sell me the guitar directly for same price. No deposit was required and when the guitar was ready he called and told me that the ship day would be a Monday with two day delivery so the guitar would not be caught over the weekend somewhere . It was in December. Thats what I call customer service attention to detail. I have never had any issues with this guitar and I play it daily. Its my go to box! I am very pleased to hear JP you are associated with the NEW Gallagher Company. Good Luck.! Frank Davis St.John's NL
Thanks for sharing your passion and joy this holiday. I am thankful to you.
Well done, I came across to Wartrace from England in 1997. Went to the Gallagher Guitar birthday party. Never forgotten it, met Don and his family and then Steve Rector, but most of all got to see and meet Doc. Finished up buying a Doc Watson model which I still have here in England. Good luck with your G70, all the best, Chris Wilson.
welcome to the club.i have a 76 DW for the past 25yrs it still blows my mind
I just picked up the exact same model except in a twelve string..it sings like angels, is the closest I can describe it..and I am also in shock at owning one..
That Gallagher sounds so good, I can almost taste the sound!! I’m always happy to see another guitar player get great gear!!🙂❤️
Great story JP! Thanks for sharing. Your care and humility warms my heart! We are so lucky!
Amen 🙏
What an absolute thrill and honor JP. Very happy for you. The joy is palpable. Congratulations!
For years all I’ve dreamed about was owning a D-18. With the Bouchers you’ve showcased and now this little beast, you’ve got me second-guessing! Thanks for sharing JP.
So happy for you J.P quite the story sure enjoyed it and thanks so much for sharing. YOU deserve it, maybe the man upstairs is looking down on you and saying you are a good man and helping so many people and Robin also. I am sure in my heart Doc Watson is looking down at you will a big smile .

Excellent video John. So glad you have your Gallagher. Same thing happened to me, listening to Doc and the Circle album, had to have one so I called Don at Wartrace back in 2005 and got me a Doc Watson Signature. Very proud owner. Now, if I could play one percent as well as you!
A beautiful story jp and a lovely tribute to robin and Doc thank you you are a incredible human being love from ireland
What an amazing guy, Boucher! Those who are giving, will always get back. I love to hear about that kid of honesty and integrity. Way to go!
You are such a genuine soul, JP. It does me good to see you, and to enjoy your contagious enthusiasm for guitar, and music in general. Congrats!

Bless your heart.
I like Doc to.I enjoy
hearing you play and talk about guitars.
An old friend of mine who recently passed of cancer had a Gallagher. I think he had to wait over a year to get it after he ordered it. We were both huge Doc Watson fans and went to see him perform in Germantown, Tennessee around 2002. Doc was accompanied by Sam Bush and we sat about 10 feet in front of them in the little orchestra pit. A wonderful memory and an amazing guitar. Congratulations.
That guitar just oozes class. Absolute top quality.
My 2015 Gallagher (one of the last ones completed by Stephen) is far and away the best of the 3 I’ve owned. Lucky to play it.
WOW! I always wonderd what kind of guitar Doc Watson played. You deserve it.
I recently bought a Gallagher Ragtime Special. It's an incredible guitar - much bigger sound than you can imagine coming from an OM size guitar. Beautiful tone!
Congratulations JP!!! You have earned it!
Making good use of confinement!!...so cool to listen to you play!!...so much joy and passion!!...
You are an awesome musician and extremely smooth. You will enjoy this one for sure. The sound is incredible.
Love ya John. Ive been a fan for 3 years of so
Yeah that Gallagher sounds phenomenal. Watch all your shows you're an inspiration, learned a lot from you thank you! And playing a lot of bluegrass from Salt Lake City. I'm truly amazed watching you play. I can honestly say you're the new Doc Watson. God bless!

Your sincerity shines through like a bright light.
Beautiful story.Told well w/ heartfelt sincerity.Wow!
Hello JP,
I just recently began viewing your feeds here and I just wanted to say how nice these acoustics sound ( your playing surely helps that sound along too… to say the very least. ). I only own one acoustic currently and perhaps one day I’ll be lucky enough to own one of these as well.
PS ~ great feeds as well, thank you.
I think Neil Diamond played one of these live on the BBC in the '70s. You can check it out on UA-cam. I always wondered who made these and there it is. Never give up JP.
So Happy for you...YOU DESERVE THE RECOGNITION
It's too bad you weren't currently able to partner with Thompson, would absolutely love a collaboration with you and Billy strings!.... But what an amazing company to become involved with and such a cool story. Congrats man all the best 🤙
I could be wrong but I don’t think this is Preston Thompson guitar that Billy String uses.
@@ninjadadPrime your wrong, he his now
So good for the soul to play an instrument that "rings like a bell"....
Congratulations...

I ordered a RDS 11 cause of you.
Thanks and keep it coming.
But congratulations. Well deserved. Amazing how well people respond to an honest and forthright approach to this stuff. Good msn.
Choked up right along wit ya buddy! CONGRATS!
What a great story!!! Yes, and what a great guitar as well.
What an honor congratulations
I just listened to “Doc & Dawg” last night. Great record!
I played a 1986 Doc Signature at Carters in Nashville a few years ago, and I was overcome with emotion after playing it for 20 minutes. The thing just did all the Doc licks the way they should sound! The last one I played though I just couldn’t get my hand to agree with the neck, but it was a 2000s model. I hope the newer stuff really does live up to its name. I’ll have to track one down.
Carter Vintage is an authorized dealer of the new ones.
Preston was amazingly supportive of my wife, Claire Lynch and numerous other members of the Bluegrass community who played at his festivals. He approached Claire, offering to build her whatever she wanted. Long before, Claire had had a 1942 Martin OO-18 she has to flog to pay bills after having a baby sideswipe her touring sched. She thought she wanted one like that lost gem. We went to Gruhn's and Carter's shops and tried most everything they had by way of a OO-18. Then we hung out with Tim O'brien and she played his Martin signature model OO-18. That was the pattern, Claire decided, for her Preston build. When it arrived home in Nashville, Claire loved it but realized that the neck profile was a soft V. Didn't fit her hand. Thompson took it back, threw on a Martin modern style neck and returned it to her. ALL NO CHARGE. Months later Preston succumbed to cancer but not before fulfilling Claire's, and many other artists', dream of an ideal guitar given freely by that master builder. Oh yeah, thank you for "Molly May". It was on her Grammy-nominated "North By South" and is still very much in demand. Look us up next time you're in Hog Town.
great story, thanks for sharing.
Heartfelt congratulations.
Long overdue and well deserved.
JP is so talented, amazing
Remarkable guitar!!!
Congratulations, you sure deserve it sir
and to think that this gentle beast will get better with time - amazing
Rings like a bell. Saw Doc and Merle up close in NY's Bottom Line. That old Gallagher sounded incredible. Funny, I can still hear that Gallagher sound with the rosewood.
Congratulations!
Yeah brother ❤️
Aww man, that’s just a beautiful tale. What a sound!! Congratulations.
Wonderful tale at such a young age. Hope you get to keep playing it as long as my Dad did (98.4 years young). Maybe you can put all that feeling into a song for all of us to hear.
Always a magnificent heart
I just saw you with a Gallagher from Wartrace, Tennessee! We had one in my brother's store around 1971. Nice guitars.THAT is how far out front, my late brother, Burt Norton was, in little Tallahassee, Florida. Enjoy that guitar mister. I don't know who you are ... but you know "good" when you see and hear it.
It would appear the Lord has blessed you a couple times and ways, here ... And congratulations, Sir.
My very first guitar was a 1954 Stratocaster my dad gave me, Christmas of 1963. July of 1965, it went out the back of my brother's station wagon on the Jacksonville expressway. Lysine for viruses!
I'd get very emotional if companies gave me new guitars also, lol. Awesome video thanks for sharing.
In early 2019 we had the honour of having Chris Jones and The Night Riders play our little local country hall. I was amazed by the tone of Chris's guitar and it's booming sound. During a break I had to approach him and ask the brand of guitar. He proudly stated it was from a small luthier in Tennessee called Gallagher. Best sounding guitar my ears have ever heard, a Gallagher and Boucher are both on my dream list. Envious I am👍
Beautiful story.
What a great tone !!
I didn't know they were still in business. Glad to hear they are. I'll never forget the times I saw Doc Watson live. I loved the man.
The company did shutdown in 2018 or 2019. However, new owners bought the company and rehired some of the employees. They also moved production for the small town of Wartrace, TN to a building a block or two off the town square in downtown Murfreesboro, TN. It seems they have been able to recapture the magic of the originals.
As the proud owner of a 1971 G70, I feel your joy!
At 56 I have to say I would give up my J35 my HD28 and even my Seagull :-) , all three, for just one Gallagher. I had the pleasure of visiting the Gallagher factory in Wartrace TN in 1999 and Don have me a little tour. It was a blast for a kid from central New Brunswick I must say. I look forward to hearing it again soon.

Congrats on your dream guitar! It sounds terrific ... I can only imagine the sound in the room
Well deserved....nice sounding guitar....it has that southern sound....stay safe buddy....Kat & Don P.
What an awesome guitar, and an awesome story. Congrats to you and those who seem to join around you. I have to say, I am 59 and never heard of this brand before, and really enjoyed the history lesson. That one there is a Martin killer.
Me too at the 58 and 1/2 years of age.. :)
Gallagher guitar was made famous by Doc Watson and played by many great musicians
What a beautiful instrument. Congratulations
Hope to pick up my G70 this weekend!
Great sounding guitar! Fine picking!
Congratulations!!
Congratulations. That's a huge childhood memory brought to your present time.
That's nice! It rings just like my Martin CS-Bluegrass-2016 does, that's very impressive.
Holy fuckin wow !
You have earned it JP
Sounds fabulous
Congratulations!
Awesome. Congrats.
I only wish that I could afford one of the works of art that are represented in your episodes...
Wow! You drove all the way to L.A.? That’s my home-town!
I knew it was going to be a Gallagher a few minutes before you actually revealed it. Well done..!
Wow, awesome.
Congrats for scoring your dream guitar. May I ask how does the Yamaha FGX5 Red Label perform against your G70 dream guitar? I may get a new FGX5 less than US $1500 but can't make a decision yet, would that be good investment?
Congratulations brother !
Wow! No other words
Wow! Amazing story.
I did a video profile of them just as Covid set in. They are super talented, super friendly. Guys you can’t help but root for.
John, what was your first really great guitar?? Mine was a Martin 00-21 New Yorker made about Dec. of 1952. It had a big hole in the face just below the sound hole but played like a dream!
Neil Diamond--I Am I Said--B B C Live Concert 1971 Check it out!!
Neil Diamond also sang Holly Holy w a Gallagher
A Gallagher, no less. That's great.
Super sounding guitar
