My son is just turned 8, and he saw a stocking somewhere that had a plastic candy cane of candy so now we have to have one every year. We always put a plush in the top as well. Hot wheels are standard as well as little learning games, logic games etc. This year I found the most beautiful wooden fidget toys at Old World Market and splurged on one.
I’m always putting st dalfour’s prunes in my kid’s stocking. We used to avoid candy when he was little and it was his favourite treat. And I always do compact brainteasers, such as Manifold, Rota-game, IQ mini hexpert etc. And I also put a little smth in tiny stocking ornaments we have on a tree
Every year we do a candy cane filled with candies, a pez, and a tiny stuffed animal to poke out of the top. Everything else is whatever we see the kids will like:)
Longtime follower,…. I have always loved your stockings! I might have to try my hand at making some for my husband and myself. I kind of go crazy at stockings. They’re one of my fave parts of Christmas!! So we usually have it filled and a pile next to it. Last year we started using a reusable Christmas tote bag with the stocking. Oh and we also wrap everything in our stockings too.
Lovely! So I made mine sooo easily(very beginner friendly and forgiving), I just made two rectangles that were two skeins of the brand wool ease (Walmart and Michaels carry it) each. I used a front single crochet stitch. I left a bit of extra yarn off both rectangles, one to work in the heal, and the other to stitch the stocking. Once I have two rectangles, I simply folded them in half (so they’re wide) and stitched them together leaving a 5-6” space at the end with the fold crease (this is where the heal is worked in.), then tied off and wove the end in. I then worked a rough heal in by crocheting around the space I left for the heal, decreasing each row until it looked like the heal of a sock lol. I used some sock tutorials as inspo there. Then I simply sewed the open long side of my stocking together with the leftover thread, cut and tied. So now I had a tube with two open ends. You then thread some yarn through the toe end and cinch it as tightly as you can to make your toe, tie off and weave the end in. Flip the stocking inside out and bobs your uncle 👌🏼 no counting, very simple, very forgiving!
I’ve subscribed… love watching these! I uploaded “what I got my kids for Christmas” earlier then looked & realised it hadn’t rendered the full video… I think my editing programme is wanting a 🤛 Sorry for rant haha!! ❤
The "sh*tbird" story made me instantly follow. My mom has had a thing for years where everytime we take a picture, she tells my kids "say sh*tbird" and it makes everyone laugh. 😆

I absolutely love your christmas series. I need huge stockings because I am still trying to figure out how I am going to get everything in ours.

Wooden fidget toys are such a great idea. I’ve seen some neat wooden fidget puzzles at homesense! His stocking sounds so fun xx

That's such a sweet thing to stick and become tradition! Brainteasers are the best! Sounds like his stocking will be so much fun XX

You're the second person to have stuffed animals poking out the top! Love that so much

@@RainbowMillerI do! Not very well lol but I do. I’m trying to get back into it now so I’m hoping I’ll become better at it.

We do the orange too ♥️ merry Christmas from Vancouver Island.
So many little things in the stocking that we do as well. The chocolate letters, that they are huge and the most fun.
Merry Christmas! Love that we share so many stocking traditions ♥️ I wonder if some of these are Canadian things… 🤔
My son is 30 I still put a pair of silly socks in his stocking 😂
