I had a lot of hope that there would be a sequel since I watched the movie in 2018 but now I gave up hope. There was a Screen Rant Article talking about how Zack Snyder wanted to do a 2nd film but nothing was done. The 1st film underperformed only making $140.1 million with an $80 million budget. Not many people went to see it. My family don't even remember it being advertised back then. It's a shame because the 1st film ended on a cliffhanger.
Yet, another core memory unlocked. I remember watching this movie in theaters when I was 8, mostly because Owls are one of my many favorite birds imo :) watching this even brings back memories too and I still enjoyed it alot, sure it's different from the books that I'm not much aware of but that didn't stop me from enjoying this movie, even as my guilty pleasure lol.
Always reminds me of Minecraft. Cuz back in 2012 my brothers and I played the Minecraft demo listening to Owl City songs. Gosh how much I miss that feeling. 😭

The only common trait that I can see between this and Zack Snyder's other films--because yes, Zack Snyder, he of 300 and Justice League (in)famy, he who is apparently a fan of Ayn Rand, directed this movie--is the lighting. It's not quite as noticeable as in his other things, but I can't unsee it now that I've noticed it.
