Great content! I’m a beginner in gardening and when to water my seedlings is one of my problem but thanks to this video, now I know when to water them.
Omh ive been spritsing my seedlings with water when i shouldve been feeding them from the bottom :( no wonder why they are looking a bit limpy :/ also.. its been 18 days now since i planted my seedlings and i havent fed them yet :/ i came to look for the fertilizing answers for my seedlings lol thanks for your videos im learning a lot :/
I watched a vid from a professional commercial greenhouse grower and he said 'You should NEVER water without using a moisture meter first.' Analog moisture meters are cheap. Get one. !
So I planted like 20 spots (tray) and it’s my first time. It’s only the third day and one carrot came out through a crack that was on the soil. Also the soil is shrinking smaller than the pot. So crack and shrink, is there anything I’m doing wrong? Or should I just wait? Or should I add? Or what. The soil was dry on top today so I put water. But I don’t know. Please help
@@ExpeditionHomestead but i noticed when i started seeds in regular bacto mix i could bottom water and they grew up amazingly now im starting over watering from the top and it seems like alot of fine tuning compared to capillary action through bottom watering where i dont have to guess if a plant gets enough water in a tray
We have fans actually but that’s a totally valid statement, we have had great success in the greenhouse but hopefully we get something on a much larger scale soon

Thank you I had that problem my plants 🌱 fell over with to much water
?? So now not giving as many cheater will it be ok or is it going to die.🌱💗
So we should look for dry soil tops to indicate when we should water next versus keeping the top moist at all times?
Yes
great info, as always!
Thanks reb 😊

you said you bottom water what if the seed starting mix doesnt want to wick water up from the bottom?
If your still having trouble then you can always water from top like normal

Very helpful thank you 👍
In your previous video you recommended to keep lid over the seedlings tray ?
Yes, up until they are big enough and not as sensitive. Usually about 2 weeks after germination
Great, I just overwatered the crap out of my seedlings.....from the top.....with a hose 😶
Did they survive ?
@@lemar4112 they did!
🤣🤣🤣
ag i just figured it when i saw mushrooms. oops left a like
How can i be able to water my grapes
Where do you live? Usually you don’t have to water grapes if growing in ground unless in very dry conditions.
d0 u heat ur greenh0use?
No heat! Just the sun. If I were to grow in the winter months then I would need a heater though
Why do you use a fan on your seedlings?
Lucia Chapman air circulation is good for your seedings and makes the stems stronger not leggy
Exactly :)
What Leeza said hold true and also help reduce risk of white mold coming back which I had plenty of this year 😛
@@ExpeditionHomestead Do you leave the fan on 24/7 or only during the day?
Overwatering the seedlings flop over and underwatering the seedlings flop over. Got it.
Exactly! Gardening is easy isn’t it? 😂
@@ExpeditionHomestead Nope, its a royal pain in the butt, but I like food so this is a real problem for me.
👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you!
You probably got mold from not enough ventilation in your greenhouse as well as over watering. Get some fans.
