Hosted by renowned silent film accompanist and historian Ben Model, along with co-host Kerr Lockhart, each episode includes discussion on the silent film composer-musician’s process, approach toward the films, practice in performance, and on silent film history. Ben and Kerr cover a range of topics unique to the perspective of someone creating a live score to help an audience enter the world of the film, and include excerpts of live musical scores Ben has performed at shows on piano and theatre or pipe organ.

    Love your stuff Ben. We used to watch your accompaniment of silent films in VA (DC Area). It opened me to the true enjoyment of silent films.

    Fascinating, thank you for sharing. I am very new to silent films, and don't really play anything but am finding the art of scoring using samples in my DAW is insanely interesting, I do have physical limitations (the MS in my name is for Multiple Sclerosis) but am looking to advance and have fun with this hobby.
