Einkorn Cinnamon Rolls

  • Our homemade cinnamon roll recipe surpasses all the others because we used einkorn flour. Its signature ‘nutty’ flavor really gives this roll some unexpected oomph, and you’re going to feel like a genius once you crank these puppies out and taste ‘em for the first time.     Ingredients:
    sponge
    • 3 Tbsp sugar
    • 1 tsp active dry yeast
    • 2 cups (9 oz) einkorn flour
    • 3 eggs
    • 6 Tbsp warm water
    flour mixture
    • 3 cups (13.5 oz) einkorn flour
    • 6 Tbsp sugar
    • 3¾ tsp active dry yeast
    • 2 tsp salt
    • 5 eggs
    • 2 sticks plus 1 Tbsp (17 Tbsp) softened butter
    • olive oil
    filling
    • ¾ cup packed brown sugar
    • ¼ cup granulated sugar
    • 3 Tbsp ground cinnamon
    • 1 Tbsp cornstarch
    • 6 Tbsp unsalted butter, softened
    icing
    • 1½ cups powdered sugar
    • 1 stick (½ cup) unsalted butter, melted
    • 2 Tbsp milk or heavy cream
    • ½ tsp pure vanilla extract
    • generous pinch of salt

    Good day Everyday Dishes…thank you for posting this recipe…since I also mill my flour I did at 40% blend with milled Einkorn and AP Einkorn. The results were outstanding. I appreciate the weight measurements. Continued success

    It would be great if the zoom wasn't so high and the images stayed longer on the screen. I don't need to be able to inventory every granule during my epileptic seizures.

    Hi, please can you write the measurements in grams or oz. I find measurements in cups and spoons to be difficult as it can mess up the recipe since the size of your cups and spoons might not be the same as mine. Thank you 🌼

    Too much trouble

      I have tried this flour because of health reasons and so has my husband. It is not too much trouble when your doctor tells you that you must change your diet or be put on medicine. We in the USA complain far too much about having to take time and effort to protect our health. Once you are on meds and sick, "too much effort" to use a flour that is much better for your health is not too much trouble

      I agree, we need to get back in the kitchen and make from scratch. Einkorn is the best tasting flour
      I have ever tasted, i feel better than I have ever felt since switching to Einkorn and all organic.
