What if we wanted the 4 bit counter to count from 0-4. I know I need a NAND gate, I am struggling with if I need to use a 2 input NAND or a 4 input NAND and depending on which one I use, I need to know which pins to connect. Would really like your help with this problem.
I just added one for the next video that includes the power on reset portion excess.org/halt/ source is available at github.com/wardi/cpu/tree/main/schematics
@@IanWard1 Its all good. I am learning from you and others. I WAS actually using a 74ls00 anyway, and i ran into a difference on the halt. I had to tie my halt nand input low with a 680 resistor to get it to stay low and run. This is fun learning this way. You have very nice educational videos. Thanks!
I love how you trimmed the riding edge just slightly using a function of rc
Also like the stacking of the breadboard wires
Yeah that only works when the pin order is reversed but I like the look of it too.

UA-cam comments isn't the best place for this. Try asking on reddit.com/r/breadboard or another online electronics forum. GL

nice penmanship
Is there a schematic for this power on reset 4011 portion?

@@IanWard1 thanks very much. I am using it now.
@@n9jcvyellow I've since learned that the 4011 is the wrong choice for working with TTL logic. I'd suggest 74ls00 or similar instead

Would a 74hc00 also work?
IIUC the input levels are different on HC chips but it might work with some pull up resistors on the inputs.
@@IanWard1 Thank you I will try it until I get the correct chip
