Vinicius Junior’s first-half rocket was cancelled out by Kevin De Bruyne’s second half drive in an enthralling encounter in the Spanish capital which saw City show plenty of character to come back.

It's Madrid you can't just show up and play like every other away games the whole team was edgey and when the team doesn't play well KDB can't either the difference is Kevin scored the equalizer despite having a bad game and that's what great players do so I don't care even if he played the worst game of his life he was still the best player on the pitch for me just because of the importance of that goal.

Honestly, I've never seen a more perfect shooting technique than what Kevin showed on that goal... The man literally went flying from the power, and he managed to keep the shot low to the ground. Courtois had no chance on saving that banger.

Overall great result, weird that pep didn't use any sub when Bernardo looked so exhausted, but we take a draw let's finish it in Manchester.
Good result away from home, considering the fact our players weren't at their best, especially Bernardo Silva and Gundogan looked tired the most out of everyone else, but a great Kevin de Bruyne goal gives us hope for next week. I really hope we make it to the finals and win it this time, the whole team deserves a Champions League especially KDB who stayed with us all this time and played his prime Football for City.

If there is anyone who deserves a Ballon D'or in our team, it is Kevin De Bruyne! He is the backbone of our team no matter who joins/joined our team, KDB is our most important player. I can't imagine Man City without him. I don't know if him being emotional after that goal was personal or for the club but it made me emotional too.
He was emotional probably because that match was tense.
Not only was it crucial to keep them in the running, but courtois and de Bruyne have a past… kdb always wants/has to score vs courtois just because of that. FYI courtois slept with kdb s girlfriend, which led to a breakup and some hatred between them since.

I'd say Mahrez is a must, city need a player with his type of playing to cut through Madrid's defense. For Alvarez...I'd say he's coming for subs, I never doubt him but you know Pep's team is always full of quality player, and right now he's a subs, it's his role. City for sure needs bernardo too. I'd really love to see Foden too, but Grealish is kinda irreplacable for now, let's see how it goes. What I can see is Pep played very carefully in the first leg, kinda same situation with Leipzig, draw 1:1, but city playing much better in second leg home match, but yea this is Madrid, this result is already really good for city coming for second leg

@@Ezlixir in reality pep replaced Mahrez by gundogan not Silva, all it's about haaland who want vertical and deep passes. So pep put behind him kdb and gundogan. Mahrez from his first season took the right wing from Silva and no one compete him he is the best and saying this time he could not defend well as Silva is not true because now the right wing is always covered by stones . Pep could use Silva instead of gundogan and Mahrez in his position without any problem considering stones and rodri behind.

I think Kdb reacted like that after he scored because he realized how important that goal was. If kdb hadn’t scored that goal City would’ve been in the mud and you could feel the energy shift in the city team after that wonderful strike.
It was a huge goal. You could sense the City players losing confidence with each passing minute, they were letting the occasion get to them. KDB's rocket settled the nerves and sets up next week perfectly.
At last a sound comment! KDB is a professional player, result-oriented and known to be a hard worker at every single game he is involved in. There is no way he would let his domestic problems overcome his legendary fighting spirit !

Pep should tell his players that taking a yellow card to avoid a goal is better than letting them score. Mancity played with such ease for Madrid scored. Till 1st half ended, the passing was a bit shaky, they were trying not to loose the ball by avoiding dangerous forward passes. That's not the way of city, it's the passes of city that makes the difference. Hopefully, city will make it through the semi's.
I think Jack was'nt at top form on attacks . He should have been substituted, maybe by foden or Alvarez for both wings to create danger.

Bernardo was essential for controlling the midfield and defense. Gundo was also there for the midfield....Madrid has the best midfield in the world and you lose the game middle of the park, you could get 5 past your goal keeper because those 3 attackers would have it easy
