This bridge is a game changed. Spacious, away from cars, elevation gives some nice views, and crossing it is just good vibes to match the good vibes of the very nice foreshore areas on both sides of the river. The light show is a nice touch too. I've been looking forward to it ever since it was first proposed and it has exceeded expectations for me.
Love it. I went for a run across it Sunday morning. It's so much better than trying to fit all the walkers, runners and cyclists on that narrow causeway path. And without having the busy road next to you, the island feels more accessible now as a destination.
That 'brown' steel is untreated 'weathering steel' (or Corten steel). It's formulated to corrode on the surface which then protects the steel from further corrosion. This saves ever coating, painting or re-painting the steel components. You'll see it everywhere these days, it's very popular for structures of all kinds
love the new intro and the rebranded profile pic all together, plus Melbourne gets a shoutout!!! haha, anyways looking forward to the upcoming videos, plus its a pretty good looking bridge too! also great to see the fanfare around this with all the fireworks, i know nothing like this would have been held in Melbourne lol

A great addition to the downtown vista.
Such a great bridge
❤❤❤
I dig the new channel profile photo
New bridge just dropped
Yaaay
Are they going to paint it? walked over it today I liked it but it looks like a rusty old neglected Soviet era relic
@@Ansdus Nope apparently the current design prevents further rusting as the exterior is already rusted so it greatly reduces maintenance costs.
@ I guess that’s good from design maintenance point of view but visually I’m not sold.
Nice 😊
