Not at all ,Nobody is going to ask your 12th Marks if you are in a engineering college because if you are in a good college or university you are there because of your JEE score ,and after all in placements they see how well you have done in your 3-4 years in college and what skills you have.Just if some cases some interviewer can ask you your 12 marks but I think they don't affect.@@nirajsinghnirajsingh465

Since you are from BITS, you have to face much less 5-pointer placement burn compared to tier two or three colleges, where WITCH companies are the only hope and have very strict eligibility criteria. Yes, sir, college matters. I can say this because my company has a fetish for IIT, NIT, and BITS, IIITs graduates.
