The implementation by Toyota is more effective. They portray the PM status by a graphical bar display and manual regen is available after a certain limit. Gives you the freedom to choose your regen times In system like the Scorpio, either you do the regen there and then or take it to the highway ( which sometimes may not be possible) and if these are skipped the DPF goes into full choked mode and the dealer is the only option left.
Thank you so much for your video.. Today I faced similar issue in my Diesel Z4 variant. Do we need to do it in regular basis or when we are notified with message "Diesel Particulate Filter is clogged"?
Hey, glad you found the video helpful. It's not possible to do it manually without a software, so don't worry about that. Whenever the notification comes, make sure to do it or drive on highways at around 80-90kmph for 20 mins. 🙂
Can this also happen if we don't start the car for a few days/weeks? Or this regen is mandatory to occur in few weeks in diesel vehicles no matter how much running you have?
Hey Yuvraj, soot buildup is inevitable in a BS6 diesel engine. This will be more when your drive is mostly in traffic/city, since the rpm doesn't usually go beyond 2500 for long. This regen message will only come up once the DPF is clogged to a certain point, regardless of your running. Mine took 8 months, I usually drove on highways. Since last month I have not driven much, and the car is usually parked for days without starting. No message as of now. Hope this helps. 🙂
@@mukulslens Thank you so much for replying in so much detail.. I'm planning to get Scorpio-N Manual soon, so your channel helps me to know many new things about N. I did not find any video about park regen in the YT with so much detail. Great content, keep it coming 😁
It all depends on driving conditions. I do not know the exact time or cost of replacement. If I were to place a guess. It will last for 1,00,000 km without any issue. 🙂
This regen required message pops up on the MID, but since I wasn't aware of this self park regen options, after two days this message disappeared from the MID by itself. While driving on the 3rd day everything was normal but the engine check icon suddenly flashed up (while I was driving uphill)and the vehicle pick-up power was simultaneously reduced to about 80%. So I drove with great difficulty (at turtle speed even on 1st gear) to the service centre and now even after two days of leaving my vehicle at the service centre they couldn't fix my car. All that was required should be to clean the clogged dpf filter, then why is it taking too long for the service people to fix this issues, please someone, any suggeations?????
Hey, that's some experience, thanks for sharing. There is a limit threshold of soot accumulation in the DPF filter. Beyond a certain limit, it clogs the exhaust system and BS6 engines are designed not to start after a limit to avoid damage to engine components. In your case, a soot removal process may be done only by removing the DPF or by using software available @ service centres. Maybe they are checking for any damages. However 2 days at service centre is more than enough time for this. Do check with the service advisor in case there is any other issues. These process are labour and time intensive, since in warranty they are required to do it for free, so they delay the process sometimes. Hopefully you'll get your vehicle soon. 🙂
This is undoubtedly the best channel for Scorpio-N content. Now I won't panic when I see the message,
Thank you so much. This means a lot to me.🙂

Looking forward for your video from long time good to see fellow banglorean in this space
Thank you so much. 😊
Your support makes all this possible.
While start doing the regen process have your foot are stepping in the clutch/brake or not
No. Just neutral with hand brake engaged.
Thanks. You helped save the day.
Glad, it was of help. 🙂
Really very helpful thanks...
Glad you found it helpful!

@@mukulslenshi one small clarification. Inspite of driving on the highway for more than 8 months you got this regeneration message..
Kindly reply
No, this was when I drove in city for almost 2 months. After this I have never got the regen message till date(close to 25000kms now) 🙂.@@HK-wv5zw
Hello bro...what is the normal life of dpf filter...and what is the cost of it in case of scorpio n...

In how many kilometres does one have to do this regen or the car demands ? I mean what’s the frequency ? Assuming one does only city rides.
Probably 5-6000 kms assuming only city with mostly short commutes.
❤❤❤
is this regen only for z6 and z8/L ?
No, the regen is for all diesel models of Scorpio-N. The display might be different. 🙂

Also, if they are not in position to rectify the vehicle, it's completely unacceptable, and please escalate the issue to Mahindra ASAP.
It'll not stop automatically?
It will, once the regen is completed. It takes about 15-30 mins depending on the soot buildup. 🙂
Informative
Thank you.🙂
