There’s a difference between somebody writing for Dr. Dre and somebody writing for someone who claims to be the goat. Dr. Dre is a producer first. Snoop Dogg, D.O.C. Eminem, Xzibit , Kurupt, Ice Cube, Kendrick, Kurupt…. These are his normal writers. But Dr. Dre isn’t out there telling people he’s a goat lyricist he’s never kept it a secret that he’s a a producer and a performer, but he’s never lied about the ghost writing stuff. When snoop was younger and he used to do most of his writing but today if someone comes to him with a verse, he’s not really competing to be the best rapper of the day anymore so he’ll go ahead and do it sometimes but snoop will still write his own shit at times. Drake appears to have written some of his songs but not any of his hits. So if we’re going to keep it 100 yes Drake has written some of his own songs but usually the ones you skip over on the album.
Knowing that Drake is sloppy with his material and makes leaking his shit easy it is no wonder that Kendrick got early access to everything he was doing 🤣
Ghost writing is trying to trick people into thinking you're an MC. If someone helps you with a verse here or there, cool.. credit then then they're not a ghost writer. Someone writing a whole song and you trying to pass it off like you wrote it will never be accepted nor will ghost writing in rap.
"even Rick Ross chimed in..." Oh, the guy who faked his entire personality and life? He's calling people out for being fake? Better mention his name then.
Ghost writers are a huge part of rap because rap is like the new pop music. For me, music is about the soul and emotion that goes into the lyrics and melody and the artist that represents that. If you have someone else writing for you then you are just using someone else's vision and emotion and putting your own twist on it. That's fine if that all you care about is a catchy beat and a hook but I can only respect real musicians and lyrics written from personal experience.
I think the problem is we think rappers and lyricists are same. The other issue with drake in particular is that a lot of his songs don't sound like him. Yeah jayz and Eminem wrote for dre but it sounded like dre. Dre wasn't sounding like he from new york or detroit he sounded like he from cali. Dre also isn't considered a great lyricist. If drake stopped trend riding and pretend gang banging and focused on his own style and sound he wouldn't be getting "exposed" for not writing
I remember the first time I heard of “Mob Ties,” I liked it for the beat, but I never thought it was Drake was the artist behind it. To this day, I still can’t grasp it because it just doesn’t sound like a typical Drake record
Snoop said it perfectly tbh. As long as you can still prove you’re a top tier lyricist then it shouldn’t matter, just cause you can spit good, don’t mean it’s gonna be a good song.
When too much money is in the fray, you can no longer leave it to chance. Hip hop, whether we like it or not, is now a global industry. It is being streamlined.
I remember a story T Pain shared about how he used to write lyrics for Kanye and help him with some of his songs. And one time he tried to demo some tracks for him, Kanye listened to them, stopped during a particular part and told T Pain not to put that line in the song because it was corny, but T Pain does it anyway because he liked the line even if Kanye thought it was corny. But then not too long after, Kanye drops a track with that line in his song and its like wtf? Dude tried to get him not to use it so he could steal it and use it for himself. And nobody ever talks about all the artists in Kanyes own sweat shop. But I guess because people consider him more of a producer now anyway.

It’s a part of hip hop. 😢
Meet Quinton a few months ago. He was at my bar. He was super humble much love to him
Just about all of Take Care was supposed to be The Weeknd’s album.
Yep Shot for Me , Crew Love was supposed to be on House Of Ballons/Trilogy.
Like 3 songs were written by The Weeknd
Literally only 3 songs on that album are written by the weeknd on a 20 song album😑
They were the best songs too
I wondered why Drake was in the thumbnail lmao
40% of mainstream hip hop artists might be using ghost writers, but the real spitters you don't even have to ask.
Music business is a dirty game
"even Rick Ross chimed in..."
Oh, the guy who faked his entire personality and life? He's calling people out for being fake? Better mention his name then.
Drake - Get it together ft Black Coffee
Was originally Superman by Black Coffee himself ft Bucie and was a 2009 hit record in South Africa 🇿🇦
9:20 hearing that quote made me sick to my stomach. Calling ghostwriting the future of hiphop is blasphemy. Especially from a colonizer
40: The ghost writer just opened his mouth!
Drake:🤑🤑🤑
I think the problem is we think rappers and lyricists are same. The other issue with drake in particular is that a lot of his songs don't sound like him. Yeah jayz and Eminem wrote for dre but it sounded like dre. Dre wasn't sounding like he from new york or detroit he sounded like he from cali. Dre also isn't considered a great lyricist. If drake stopped trend riding and pretend gang banging and focused on his own style and sound he wouldn't be getting "exposed" for not writing
Does anyone know which programs can be used to create such thumbnails?
Just photoshop!
@@hiphopmadness Thank you bro 💯
It's been around since the beginning of hip-hop. Rappers Delight had verses written by other people.
I remember the first time I heard of “Mob Ties,” I liked it for the beat, but I never thought it was Drake was the artist behind it. To this day, I still can’t grasp it because it just doesn’t sound like a typical Drake record
Drake put them in a tent. 😂. Im sorry but that's cold.
Snoop said it perfectly tbh. As long as you can still prove you’re a top tier lyricist then it shouldn’t matter, just cause you can spit good, don’t mean it’s gonna be a good song.
Not a fan of Drake but yo can we get a vid that ain't about Drake
This channel talks a lot about Drake because love or hate him. He always gets people talking.
Others were mentioned
These videos r so good but PLEASE someone make an outro or just fade the music out for a second it would make them feel even more professional !!

He did the old fashion they was doing it too 😂😂
Drake has ghost wrote songs too
Seems like A LOT OF PEOPLE need to brush up on law.
Those ghostwriter spit hot fire, they must have so many hits on their own… oh wait
Well, Dot took care of the ghostwriters.
this why i got into memphis rap, you can hear they mean all that shit. real music
My BM a radio personality. It blew my socks off when she recorded the promos about McDonald’s giveaways. Everything is fake.
We gotta stop lettin yt ppl dictate the standard. Ppl just stealing sounds and rhymes perpetually
I thought it was gonna be about a rappers pr team 😭😭😭
When too much money is in the fray, you can no longer leave it to chance. Hip hop, whether we like it or not, is now a global industry. It is being streamlined.
Y’all better look in to short dawg aka fre$h from young money . After you hear him you can tell he wrote for people
Guess it's that time of the year again
50 wrote for a lot of rappers too. Now there's a difference between ghost writing, collaborating, and rapping lyrics on somebody else's behalf
If you can write good lyrics you don't need a writer.
styles P is a major ghost writer
Drake lied to Lebron's face about mob ties and he had boi 1da telling made up stories. 🤣
The industry is sheisty!
The way they did Majid Jordan was crazy because that song should’ve made them stars
Damn Blood really scrapped the what happened to raps superheroes vid for this one👀i aint mad at it tho💯
Kanye West to Travis Scott is basically the same person. Might as well do a video on how much of Travis's albums are scrapped Kanye/Drake songs
